Giraffes are tall enough to reach leaves that no other animals can, they have long legs to run faster than lions, stumpy horns to fight each other with and they are the same colour as their environment

But unicorns? they don't have natural predators in most fantasy and they certainly are never shown using their horn to fight anything (horses are pack animals it makes no sense for them to have horns) and unicorns are bright (sometimes glowing) white despite only inhabiting dark forests (usually only appearing at night), which should absolutely attract some predators to kill them AND it's always very unclear what they eat in the forests they inhabit (wild horses mainly eat grass)
