Jaidenanimations New Video On Being AroAce (12:18): If I Were To Guess, I Would Assume The Thing That

Jaidenanimation’s new video on being AroAce (12:18): “If i were to guess, i would assume the thing that makes someone human is... basic empathy. Like i’m not an emotionless monster, i can still love people. I love my family, and my pets, just... platonically. And i would hope that you’re the same.”

I was enjoying the video until this point, but i have to say i’m really disappointed. I’m not good at writing down my thoughts like this, but i just... i’m low-empathy so it hurts to hear that i’m not human from one of my favourite youtubers. i have friends who don’t feel any love whatsoever for anyone, and they’re the best friends i could ask for. i just... i really thought jaiden would do better.

Are there any other loveless or aplatonic people who just watched Jaiden Animations video and feel sick by the casual dehumanization of aplatonic/loveless people towards the end of the video? Like I watched the vid cos I saw on Twitter that this YouTuber had come out as aroace in a video and I was like “cool I’ll check it out, love seeing other aroace people talk about their experiences” and I was vibing and I really enjoyed the vid and the animations and then Jaiden said the dreaded “I still love people platonically though, I’m not an inhuman monster” and I wanted to fucking cry cos aplatonic/loveless people are not inhuman monsters. Jaiden also said something like “all of you watching better love your family too! 😡😡” and I just felt so devastated.

I’m happy for Jaiden and glad so many people are discovering asexuality and aromanticism through the video, but it’s upsetting that there was such casual disrespect toward loveless and aplatonic identities in the video

any other arfid folks feel like certain foods smell really good, but taste horrible? like you know you wouldn't be able to eat it but it still smells good. or is this just a Me thing

personality quizzes can be dangerous when they tell you on uncertain terms that you are not normal or are a bad person. and this quiz particularly is dangerous to self esteem of those who are neurodivergent or have trouble socializing. please do not read too deeply into the results of others or yourself, because it is not based in much.
