"So," Harry began, as Ruby inspected the books that the librarian had suggested, "I had a weird dream last night. The one with the screaming, and the green light, and our — our mum. But what's funny is that Quirrell was in it."

"Quirrell?" asked Ruby disbelievingly. "Well, he's a bit of a joke, isn't he? Maybe you had some weird cheese last night."

Pleased with what she found, Ruby hefted the heavy stack of books (all right, perhaps she'd been a bit overzealous) and started off in search of a table. Harry trailed behind her, frowning.

"I think I've got to speak to Quirrell," he said, sitting down opposite her with a serious expression.

Ruby snorted. "Never realized you were superstitious about stuff like dreams."

"I'm not," Harry protested. "It's just, we thought all this time our parents died in a car crash, but now that we know what really happened, I know that dream is really a memory of me seeing Mum — Mum die." His voice shook on the last word. "So, if magic is real, why not dreams? I've just got this feeling, I dunno. I really think I've got to speak to him. I just don't know what I've got to speak to him about, yet."

"If that's what you think," said Ruby, opening the first book from her stack.

"This House thing is stupid," said Harry, lowering his voice to a whisper as the librarian walked past them. "I mean, we can't meet in the library all the time — it closes at eight!"

He seemed disproportionately worried about this, Ruby thought. To her, it was all very, very simple.

"You're my brother," she said, rolling her eyes as she looked up from her book. "We're not going to have some kind of crisis just because Slytherins and Gryffindors don't usually get along."

In summary, Pansy put a rat in someone’s bed, Harry and Draco got in a fight, and Quirrell is acting sus.

Tom is staring at the screen unblinkingly, not the least bit disturbed.

“Apparently that’s a very medically accurate portrayal of a cerebral angiography in the 1970s,” he says as blood spurts out of someone’s neck. “They used to use the carotid artery — that’s the one that is often occluded during a stroke, but now we use more distant blood vessels. Less risky.”

Still baffles me that ‘myocardial infarction,’ a Muggle AU oneshot featuring Tom Riddle as a medical student that I wrote after finishing my Human Physiology final to release stress is my most popular fic on AO3, which I can only describe as crack treated seriously during my one attempt at Tomarry (I don’t write shipfic very often). I guess it’s the only fluff I’ve ever written, so there’s that. 

Yeah, this. I have so many fics in my follow/subscribe lists that I need to catch up on!

Occasionally, you spend so much of your time writing fan fiction and getting wrapped up in the tiny worlds that you shape, that you forget to read fan fiction. Then you do and you remember the warm fuzziness it creates at your core. You are reminded of how wonderful it can be, to actually discover the spawned worlds of other authors imaginations...

just to be clear, the fact that music was nominated for a golden globe is absolutely disgusting. every single (adult) involved in that gross, ableist movie should be sickened by themselves.

for those of you who don't know, music (2021) is a movie being directed by sia about a nonverable autistic girl. not only does it not include any actually autistic people in the movie itself but it also only took advice from autism speaks which is looked at as a hate group by the majority of the autistic community. leaked scenes have also shown the movie glorifying prone restraints which are incredibly dangerous and have resulted in major injuries and even death to disabled people as recently as last year.

autistic people just like me have been incredibly outspoken about how harmful this movie is but the allistic have been mostly silent. we are already seeing reviews calling this movie 'inspiring' and important' and it's absolutely horrific! we need your help calling this out. please stand with us and call out this disgusting display of disrespect to autistic folks.

Tom Riddle attempts to (mis)educate purebloods about WWII

Mulciber: "But why don’t you want to go back, Tom? Other than the fact that they’re, you know, Muggles."

Tom *aggressively shoves books in trunk*: "There’s a war going on. Didn’t you know that?"

Mulciber: "Yeah, I know about Grindelwald — what do you take us for, Tom — idiots?"

Tom (near the end of his tether): "Not Grindelwald. A Muggle war."

Rosier (confused): "But, er, who are they fighting?"

Tom: "Other Muggles. Germans, mostly."

Mulciber: "For Merlin’s sake, why? Don’t Muggles all like the same things? Like filth and what’s it called again — electrics?"

Tom: Looks very hard at Mulciber, and debates the use of teaching wizards about the evils of fascism.

Tom: Decides against it.

Tom: "Muggle stuff."
