so Newsies is hands-down one of my all-time favorite musicals, and while I’ve always liked the idea of Sprace, @crystallizedtwilight‘s art had really made me fall in love with the ship. I rewatched the musical yesterday, and OH MY GODDESS there were so many little hints of them and I was happy

In an effort to celebrate these pairings, this is a series of casual week-long events throughout the year around the birthdays of the Senshi. We wanted to keep it flexible so people can participate selectively according to their OTP or take part in all of them!

I’m sick and tired of men telling me I can’t do things because I’m a woman. I’m shorter than them, curvier than them, and I have a vagina. Does that make me weak? I can do more pushups than you, I can outrun you, I can dress you down and leave you crying in a verbal debate. Is that what you call weak?
And how dare you treat me like I’m inferior to you. How dare you call me scary and a bitch because I’m not afraid of you. I’m confident and proud and I know what I’m talking about- does that immediately make me dangerous?
You don’t get to call me these things. You don’t get to structure my world. You’re not the boss of me.

Rain
She took a step.
And then another.
The rain was coming down harder now, the icy needles piercing her skin. Her dark hair was matted to her face and her clothes were soaked through, but Lilith didn’t care. All she cared about was the body in front of her, the bloodstained form of the only person who truly knew her.
“Estelle,” she said, kneeling next to the girl. “ESTELLE!”
She got no response.
“Please,” whispered Lilith, her voice breaking, something cold trickling down her cheek. “Please don’t leave me. I... I need you. Goddamn it, Estelle, I need you!” She shuddered, a sob racking her body, reaching out to the other girl’s hand. “I tried so hard to keep you out, to block you from making your way into my life, but you found a way in and now... now I don’t know if I can live without you.”
Still, Estelle remained still and unmoving.
Lilith scrubbed her palms against her face, trying to wipe her tears. “Estelle, I swear to God... you are my everything. Please, I beg of you... don’t go where I can’t follow you.
“I love you.”
It was as if the world itself was holding its breath. Everything went silent, and the rain halted completely. Even the blood gushing out of Estelle’s wound stopped running.
And then, in the smallest of movements, her fingers tightened around Lilith’s own.
