I Think The Greatest Difference (that I See) Between Regina And Rumple Is That Regina Is Trying To Bea
I think the greatest difference (that I see) between Regina and Rumple is that Regina is trying to be a better person for those she loves, Rumple is trying to seem like a better person for those he wants.
storiesbyreese:
The double standard when it comes to Regina and Rumple is really starting to piss me off. No matter what Regina does she gets knocked down and kicked repeated, and yet Rumple never suffers for his actions. Regina looses everything, her parents, her son, her stable boy, and Rumple? Gets his son back, gets a grandson, and now he gets Dark Belle. This is fucking bullshit.
It’s two white men writing it. What did you expect?

Bouns fan points for using the words 'canon', 'crackfic', 'fandom', and 'fanfic' to logically describe the popular western social viewpoint of a religion nominally called 'theirs'. Why aren't I following you?

... Swan Queen? Living with Regina but with Emma in Henry's life everyday. I ship this.

Jared on twitter tonight. So have we crowned this kid king of the Evil Regals yet? I would personally polish his crown myself.

Hunh, Tumblr really does this.
... Is this a subtle reference to the very modest clothes Emma is now wearing? Did she get a tattoo? Does Regina intend to find it? She does in my mind :)

"...because your face is not the one beneath someone’s boot."
Can we also consider for a moment the impact of family systems? Cora was a strong woman, a determined woman, who despite her strength and determination was still forced beneath the boot of a (then) petty, spoiled princess. Based upon what Once Upon a Time showed it is likely that Cora did not have a mother or siblings, that her father was an alcoholic, that she routinely starved, and that her very life was at the whim of royalty. Not the mercy, the whim. Despite this Cora understood the importance of knowledge and power (as displayed by her ability to read and desire to be taught). Quite literally Cora's face was the one beneath someone's boot. Given her oddly obsessive focus on Regina and Regina's power (odd due to her missing heart) I have no doubt that many of Cora's lessons revolved around how powerless and hopeless Regina was in the face of FTL royalty. I also think it likely that part of the reason Regina focuses on Snow so much is because of her learned belief that the prestige and power of Snow's position makes her inherently more active and important than a peasant child in the same situation. In fact, I think it likely that a large part of Regina's lack of compassion was actively taught by Cora (and Henry Sr. who may have expressed compassion, not displayed it) while perpetuated by Snow and Leopold (through naivete and selfishness), and actively encouraged by Rumple (as a means to his goal).
Not really 100 percent on topic (sorry). That sentence sparked it in me and I felt the need to share.
In my ideal world, Regina/Snow (or Emma) (OUAT) would be Charles/Erik (X-men)
CHARLES: Killing Shaw will not bring you peace.
ERIK: Peace was never an option.
