; Someone The Other Day Was Laughing And Joking Because " You Only Have 36 Followers !?? " And I Didn't

; someone the other day was laughing and joking because " you only have 36 followers !?? " and I didn't really care for once because, why would I ?? 36 people have found me interesting and / or relatable or like my content, thirty six ( thirty six ). Imagine if me and 36 people went out for lunch, to an arcade, the store. It'd be crazy, it'd be wow you're so lucky to have so many people who enjoy your presence, it'd be wow you're so cool.

; social media has really warped our perspective on the genuine amount of people " small creators " have following them.

; obviously there is a huge difference between say a million compared to 10, but 10 people is still a lot of people really. And most the time the larger content creators can be repetitive and not as " genuine ", their content is usually designed to bring in more people. If they're famous enough they may even have teams of people marketing them to get the most followers !! So of course they have a larger following. But this is usually one single person we're talking about, generally young or even not, and they've made content they enjoy that like 10 - 100 people also enjoy and have followed them, actively like their content, etc. You don't even know these people, they don't know you, but they enjoy what you put out into the world and so they've followed you. It could even just be 1 person, one whole human being appreciates you. Is that not enough ?? Sure having millions of people liking you is cool and all, but so is just a few. They enjoy what you enjoy, and that's so cool !!

; so honestly, the insults of " you have like 10 followers " or " I have more followers than you " are so silly if you really think ab them

A lot of the time when professionals interact with psychotic people, they try to reduce our distress by getting us to stop believing things. For me, that only made things worse. It was confusing and distressing. I felt angry, scared, and misunderstood. The best way I've found to cope with delusional thinking is something I discovered on my own. I'll give an example here so, huge TW for unreality and paranoia.

Scroll away if you're not able to hear delusional thinking.

Yesterday I started freaking out thinking people could hear my thoughts. This is something I've occasionally experienced since I was a child. When this comes up, I always think there's some massive conspiracy, where everyone can hear my thoughts but they react to me as if they don't hear anything. And they're all in on it. This time, it was triggered by intrusive thoughts that I started judging myself for.

As you can imagine, this is distressing. I started talking to people through my mind, which only made it worse. I couldn't focus on what was happening around me. What I did to reduce that distress is.. weirdly nonchalant. I just sat there and thought "Well, if this is true, it's not like they're going to change how they interact with me. Everything is the same as it was. Nothing I can do about it, might as well just keep on keeping on."

That calmed me down enough to start focusing on what I was doing, and eventually completely forget about it until now. Whenever I try to treat my delusional thinking as something I have to stop immediately... it literally only makes my mind double down. But if I work within what I believe - what I "know" - I can find another way to look at it that isn't so scary.

This works with my hallucinations, too. I sometimes see shadow people; they're more like jump scares than anything. They startle me, and I start to wonder if people I'm looking at are real. But that latter part only really happens if I get fearful of them. To avoid that fear, I try to think of the shadow people as just friends watching over me, checking in. They don't do anything, after all. They just pop up, stand there, and disappear.

(Talk of unreality ends here)

So, yeah. This doesn't work for everyone, and it doesn't always work for me depending on what I'm experiencing/how I'm feeling. But without this, I'd be far worse off; it doesn't take too many missteps for me to spiral. I guess my point is, my reality doesn't have to be "normal" for me to be healthy as a schizophrenic person. It just has to be something I can live with, as happily and safely as possible.

And that's ok. Neurodivergent people are allowed to exist, and some people are helped best by finding ways for them to exist as they are without so much distress - rather than trying to eliminate troubling symptoms entirely.

i was reading the recipe suggestions on some of the cans of mackerel i have in my cupboard, and I've noticed that on all of the recipe suggestions for pasta, seafood, anything really say "try this for a low-calorie, low carb, low fat, low sugar dinner". you. need those things when it comes to be mealtime. calories are a measure of how much "energy" you can burn, not how much weight you will gain from eating the food. carbohydrates get broken down into starches, sugars, and fibers, which are all necessary for you to function.

your brain & body operate primarily off of fats, sugars, and proteins, but i've noticed that protein is the only thing we push as absolutely necessary, which just isn't true. whenever you idle and not in motion, your body has nothing to do with the extra protein you're bringing in. it will be stored as extra fat if you do not give that protein a reason to build muscle tissue instead.

your brain consumes 20% or more of the sugar you take into your body- our brains NEED glucose, you literally need sugar to think. if you feel depressed and like you're sluggish reacting to things, thinking, remembering things, and other mental processes, if you are the kind of person who refuses to eat any sugar at all due to wanting to be skinny, you are doing your brain a huge disservice:

I Was Reading The Recipe Suggestions On Some Of The Cans Of Mackerel I Have In My Cupboard, And I've
Sugar for the brain: the role of glucose in physiological and pathological brain function
PubMed Central (PMC)
The mammalian brain depends upon glucose as its main source of energy, and tight regulation of glucose metabolism is critical for brain phys

i can't stand the hatred towards dietary fats, because it's causing so many people to be outright miserable or even sick. you need fats to function. they are an excellent source of energy and are literally required for you to be able to move, think, and combat disease. they are not this icky thing that you need to avoid at all costs. fats are extremely important for brain development, as well as brain function, and even immune system function:

I Was Reading The Recipe Suggestions On Some Of The Cans Of Mackerel I Have In My Cupboard, And I've
Essential fatty acids and human brain - PubMed
PubMed
The human brain is nearly 60 percent fat. We've learned in recent years that fatty acids are among the most crucial molecules that determine

also for many people, 2,000 calories or less per day is nowhere near enough. your brain actively consumes calories, fats and sugars while you are awake, no matter what you are doing:

I Was Reading The Recipe Suggestions On Some Of The Cans Of Mackerel I Have In My Cupboard, And I've

i sincerely refuse to believe that if JUST YOUR BRAIN ALONE consumes somewhere in the ballpark of 400-500 calories just for being awake and active that we can only survive off of 2,000 calories a day. capitalism, diet culture and fat shaming forcing us to starve ourselves of vital nutrients so we are weak and too tired to fight back against the bullshit we face every day. food is important.

food isn't just to satiate the feeling of an empty stomach. it is the ONLY way you get vital fuel in order to keep moving, living, thinking, and breathing. vitamins and minerals are NOT the only vital aspects of food. you're not meant to restrict how many nutrients you get at FUCKING MEAL TIMES. YOU NEED FUEL. PLEASE FUEL YOUR BODY AND BRAIN. A CONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE BODY ISN'T WORTH SUFFERING AND LIVING YOUR WORST LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"male anatomy" female anatomy" penis and vagina aren't dirty words, you know. that's literally just what they're called, people are waaaayyyy over complicating this one here and also leaving out intersex people in one fell swoop. why are grown adults afraid to say the real ass words for these body parts. when you're talking about penises, say penis. when you're talking about vaginas, say vagina. just say what you mean
