Shiro slowly approaches, holding his hands out to show he’s not a threat.

“It’s ok… everything is going to be ok…. I’m just here to help you… you’re calling for your pack right?… well I’m here… the others are waiting for you back at the castle… is it alright if I touch you?”

When he’s only a foot away, he holds his hand out. A request to pet.

Now it was Keith’s move. He could only hope that Keith would see him as a friend.

Red Moon, Full Moon

(The Voltron Paladins have been sent out on a mission to rescue allied aliens that have been trapped under rocky debris for almost a whole quintant. But, there might be a problem for our favorite vampire and werewolf duo; not only does the planet have a red moon in it’s orbit, there’s also a full moon tonight. )

Coran took stock of the situation and responded.

“I can as you say materialize more stretchers but Unfortunately getting them down to you will be an issue, in order for you to get the stretchers, one of you paladins will have to get in a lion and fly up to the castle to retrieve them.”

Lance raised his hand. “I’ll go get the stretchers!”

“Alright then, be quick. We have quite a few wounded here.” Shiro ordered.

Lance ran to his lion as quickly as his vampire speed would allow. His flight back to the ship was fast and his task in loading up the stretchers took no time at all. and his trip back to the planet’s surface was as uneventful. Though when he returned to the team from his lion carrying the stretchers over his head. You’d swear he was some kind of skinny weightlifter who lifted overexaggerated heavy weights.

“Special delivery!” He announced.

Shiro smiled. “perfect timing Lance. Get those stretchers out. We got a lot of wounded.”

Then coran’s voice came over the coms “oh! A bit of good news! A passing Allied ship is passing by and is offering their assistance. They can transport all the rebels to the next closest rebel base. They will be down in a Varga!”

“That’s great coran. Let them know we appreciate the assistance.” Shiro replied.

Red Moon, Full Moon

The wind is knocked out of lance as he’s plowed over by hunk. By the time he recovers, he’s already restrained by both paladins. He snarls and hisses at them, trying desperately to get free. The venom from the dart started to take effect. he was starting to feel slightly sluggish but not enough to stop fighting.

He hisses at hunk when the yellow paladin tries talking to him. His words not reaching the vampire’s ears. It was like all language was muffled out. He couldn’t understand anything that was being said to him.

Shiro huffed in relief, sitting up to catch his breath.

“Keep holding him down!” Shiro ordered as he got up and grabbed the tranq gun.

He approached them, raising the gun to aim at Lance’s neck and fires.

Lance lets out another shriek of pain and he thrashes against hunk and pidge’s hold. Guttural growls and hisses erupted from his mouth as the venom’s effect grows stronger and makes him feel more light headed and tired.

Finally after a few minutes, the venom takes full effect and lance slowly slumps limply. His eyes half lidded as he groans weakly. Everything blurred in and out as if he was drugged. (Which he kinda is)

Soon he loses consciousness and passes out.

Everyone breaths a sigh of relief. Shiro wipes his brow and looks at the other two paladins.

“Ok, now that he’s taken care of. We need to go after Keith. Hunk, you and pidge take Lance back to the ship and get him restrained. I’ll go after Keith.”

Lance snarled and made chase. Hid mouth salivated with the thought of feasting in this one’s blood. His prey was fast, But that just made him more determined. They were also quick with sharp turns, throwing Lance off and making him slam into trees, struggling to keep up. Each tree he plowed into would crack and break with the impact. But he managed to catch up and tackle Keith to the ground.

Lance now had Keith pinned, his eyes locked on Keith’s. The feral vampire hissed and kept trying to reach Keith’s neck to bite into it. Fangs snapping in the werewolf’s face.

Meanwhile

Hearing the dilemma taking place, shiro checked his subspace pockets for the tranq gun. Pulling it out, he ran to catch up to where Keith and lance ran off to. 

He just hoped he could get to them in time.

“We’ll worry about getting lance and Keith’s lions later when we have them both safely back at the castle. Now go!” Shiro called back as he heads in Keith’s direction. The trek was a bit long.

Damn Keith can runs fast.

It took a while, but shiro finally managed to catch up to Keith on the mnt.

He looked through the brush and saw him, standing a fair distance away, howling at the moon.

He slowly entered the clearing, making himself appear as nonthreatening as possible and spoke carefully.

“Hay Keith… you ok there bud?…. It’s me, shiro. You know who I am right?

Coran checked the current cycle timeframe.

“Hmm according to this the next blood moon should be tomorrow. And the next full moon is also tomorrow! They are both happening at the same time! Well that’s lucky, we will only be here for today, we’ll be gone way before then!” Coran said cheerfully.

Lance breaths a sigh of relief. They won’t be here for either moon.

“All the same, we better take some tranq darts with us just in case we run into problems were we might be here longer.” Shiro reasoned. He knew missions didn’t always go as planned and he wanted to be prepared for anything.
