Sup, I'm Tofu - also known as Aery - and I'm just a silly chinchilla just wanting to post art n shit (and failing quite spectacularly at that lol), and share things I like. I barely post on other sites too XD Might make a post with them on eventually.

watching gen z and millennials make fun of gen alpha has been torturous. "But they're actually stupid" 1. theyre middle schoolers 2. isn't that what older gens said about us? don't you remember being 11?
it truly is just "impulse reaction to cringe <- has not yet unlearned shame"
the cycle continues let me out of here
guys. guys I think we should kill cringe culture
before directors are allowed to put in the request for cgi they should be required to answer: “would lord of the rings have been able to do this by sitting somebody a little further back, using an apple box, or putting out a casting call for a really big pig?” and if the answer is yes they should consider finding a really big pig.

I'd rather hangout with the straight boyfriend than the queer cop who insists they're one of the "good ones" while harassing people of color
I'd rather hangout with the straight palestinian grandma than the queer zionist who keeps insisting that the death of palestinians is the one way ticket to queer liberation
I'd rather hangout with the leather dyke who is a mspec gaybian and uses paw/pawself pronouns than the puritan who makes "callout posts" clearly targeting disabled queer artists
I do think the 'fem' and 'masc' thing works if a person's pronouns are she/they or he/they, but otherwise... nah fam.

No, I’m fucking not. I’m not your parent. My past-times do not automatically sign me up to act in loco parentis. If you need someone else to monitor your own content consumption online, go get mommy and/or daddy to set up a content blocker on your computer.
You're not immune to being the bully btw. You're not immune to being in the wrong
A Vulcan named Stork works at the Terran adoption agency. Parents always request that he be the one to deliver their child to them.
more characters with heterochromia. fuck it. it’s no longer ‘cringe’ to give your OCs two different eye colours it’s actually extremely cool and fun and sometimes extremely sexy. godspeed
"craving a food means your body needs something that food can offer" now what the fuck does my body need with an ice cream
my favorite genre of alien picture is little grey aliens just naked in the woods like why the fuck are you here. you have a spaceship. why did you come to earth to just stand in the woods and look at us with no clothes
hi did you know that ancient mesopotamians buried their dead under the floors of their own houses to always be close to them? i can't write a poem about this but by god i will write a master's thesis
love seeing revisionism in the wild “free the nipple never meant you can walk around topless every where that’s still sexual harassment it just meant for like breastfeeding and stuff”no it literally means you should be able to walk around topless anywhere because get this. breasts aren’t fucking sexual organs.

Honestly if there's ONE thing I wish I could get all queer people to understand is that if you're in a situation where you know everyone would treat you differently, especially to the point of it putting your life in danger, if they found out you're queer, you aren't experiencing privilege, you're in a hostage situation.
Like sorry experiencing "passing privilege" is actually just being trapped in a room with a bloodthirsty t-rex and having people tell you that you should be thankful because thier vision is based on movement and you can just stand still. It's not a privilege to be erased, to have to lie to everyone around you to stay safe-ish, to have to closet yourself because you know even a single step out of line could be the end of your entire world.
None of us should have to be thankful to stand in front of a loaded gun while the person holding it goes "haha, don't worry, I only use this on faggots, and you're not a fag....right?" Like this is not a net good and it has almost nothing in common with actually being part of a privileged group.
Anyway, Happy Pride, let's leave this shit behind.
I need to say something and I need y'all to be calm
if it isn't actively bad or harmful, no representation should be called "too simple" or "too surface level"
I have a whole argument for this about the barbie movie but today I wanna talk about a show called "the babysitters club" on Netflix
(obligatory disclaimer that I watched only two episodes of this show so if it's super problematic I'm sorry) (yes. I know it's based on a book, this is about the show)
this is a silly 8+ show that my 9 year old sister is watching and it manages to tackle so many complex topics in such an easy way. basic premise is these 13 year old girls have a babysitting agency.
in one episode, a girl babysits this transfem kid. the approach is super simple, with the kid saying stuff like "oh no, those are my old boy clothes, these are my girl clothes". they have to go to the doctor and everyone is calling the kid by her dead name and using he/him and this 13 year old snaps at like a group of doctors and they all listen to her. it's pure fantasy and any person versed in trans theory would point out a bunch of mistakes.
but after watching this episode, my little sister started switching to my name instead of my dead name and intercalating he/him pronouns when talking about me.
one of the 13 years old is a diabetic and sometimes her whole personality is taken over by that. but she has this episode where she pushes herself to her limit and passes out and talks about being in a coma for a while because of not recognizing the limits of her disability.
and this allowed my 9 year old sister to understand me better when I say "I really want to play with you but right now my body physically can't do that" (I'm disabled). she has even asked me why I'm pushing myself, why I'm not using my crutches when I complain about pain.
my mom is 50 years old and watching this show with my sister. she said the episode about the diabetic girl helped her understand me and my disability better. she grew up disabled as well, but she was taught to shut up and power through.
yes, silly simple representation can annoy you if you've read thousands of pages about queer liberation or disability radical thought, but sometimes things are not for you.
Love this SO MUCH, and wanna add a couple of things!
- Wears his heart on his sleeve, and actually struggles with hiding his not so nice feelings
- Mind is running a mile a minute and it often causes him to act far to quickly
- Genuinely means well, but is prone to speaking before thinking
- Competitive and cocky, but not a sore loser - he just LOVES a good competition and challenge
Favorite Sonic Characterization
Selfless. He’ll put everything on the line for others.
Has a temper
Slightly sassy, but not to the point of being super rude or obnoxious.
Wants to share his own love of life with people and help them make the most of the time they have.
Is optimistic, but its a strong internal characteristic that comes out more in one-on-one conversations.
Though he loves the adventure, he takes things seriously.
One of his favorite things is to cheer people up when they’re down and help them have confidence in themselves. Instinctively builds people up.
Tails is his RESPECTED BROTHER AND BEST FRIEND.
Will always stop to help out a friend (even if that friend is a minor acquaintance)
Once he calls you his friend, there’s no escaping the title
Loves adventure, traveling the world, and making new friends.
Loves an adrenaline rush
Always does the right thing and stands up for justice
Gets SERIOUS when you hurt people
Brave and determined
Gets nervous, concerned, and worried, but it’s all very internal. The most indication you usually see of these feelings is a serious face.
Loves nature
Hates letting people down when they’re counting on him
Lives by his own rules (which are good and just and kind)
Just gonna leave this here. Anything people wanna add? What’s your favorite interpretation of Sonic’s personality?

this is so sweet 🥺🥺🥺
do not forget the patron saint of these weeks that we celebrate ourselves proudly and openly in the streets

her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.
remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.
thank you, Marsha. we remember you.
It's still weird to me that people can look at a person and immediately think about how much they wanna fuck them.
I mean, guess I can do the same? But not for the same reasons. Its not specifically THE PERSON IN GENERAL, or their gender/sex, but specific aspects of them in relation to things I enjoy. And even then, it's not... all encompassing? It doesn't overtake my thoughts like it can do with allo people.
It's the same with art, honestly. Art pieces made, fuelled by a person's sexual desire and made for gratification, can be SEXY and well done, but I find myself more admiring the details of the piece than feeling any desire to 'enjoy them' for their intended purposes.
I dunno, guess I just wanted to add to the discussion.
y'know, one thing i don't see get talked about much in regards to asexuality is how it feels to never be 'sexually motivated' by anything
and not just when it comes to advertisements using 'sexy' models to try and sell you stuff, but like. in general
sex as a favor, sex as a bribe, sex in exchange for whatever
casual sex, 'friends with benefits' situations, even simple flirting
it all looks a whole lot different from the perspective of someone who's immune to manipulation via sex appeal, who has virtually no understanding as to why sex would motivate someone to cheat on their partner, etc. etc.
sex is worthless to me
i mean, it's useful as a story element in fiction, but it genuinely perplexes me that sex is such a driving force behind so many aspects of irl society & of people's individual lives, for better or for worse
and that it's so deeply ingrained into how the average person views the world & various situations, because the average person feels sexual attraction, whereas i do not
i think the barrier between aces & allos is actually even deeper than it seems on the surface at times, because it's more than just the grating expectation that everyone must want to 'settle down' and have kids, it's also the fact that the majority of the world is sort of 'in' on a joke that aces will never truly be a part of
