Me: Oh, i wanna try doing Cotltober! Also me, 2 weeks in: ohshiz-
ANYWAYS! Here's some sketches of me VERY SLOWLY getting through the cotltober prompts (credit to @stychu-stych again, these prompts are so fun!) - currently finished week 1's sketches XD
You are who you eat, with Lotus happily consuming a Follower Meat Stew (you can probably guess who XD); Heart, with Lotus going just a lil mad and consuming the heart of their first follower, who's called Theoron (the lack of lower body has a reason, i swear, i wasn't just being lazy lol); Rise from the dead, showcasing Lotus' first resurrection - specifically, their one after accepting Narinder's deal; Lose your head, Lotus' sacrifice to the Old Faith; Peer into the darkness, Lotus and Ratau having a nice lil talk by the campfire ^^ nothing suspicious here, Ratau isn't shitting bricks, he swears; and Ritual, Lotus' first Sacrifice Ritual.
When I've finally finished the pieces, I plan on writing little story/lore pieces to go along with them, but I also wanted to give lil snippets of the context for each~

Wanting to partake in @stychu-stych's cotltober (so glad its laid out to be so relax, the only one I've seen laid out like that) , but thought it'd be a good idea to post these first - my Lamb's post-Narinder boss fight outfit (based on the original fleece), and my Goat Gideon!
Lotus doesn't really work on a more 'personal' outfit for the fleeces until they beat Narinder, which for them is their first true step into being their own person for the first time in their life (despite the grief they feel for needing to fight him). It was during a trip to Berith's while they were crusading that the idea of making their fleeces their own popped up. Lotus REALLY liked that idea, but had no idea how to make clothes (they haven't yet made the fashion station) so Berith offers to help teach them! After about a month of repeated visits, making their cult clothes first, and making test pieces with Berith, Lotus eventually makes the outfit in the first image! I'm planning on making different outfits based on each of the fleeces eventually, and I want them to be different yet similar.
Now, onto Gideon!
I'm just gonna copy/paste what I wrote down in my loose CoTL timeline/story notes, as I'm honestly happy with those notes, as unfinished as they are.
'At some point, though, something strange happens… The Goat turns up.
Lotus has no idea what to think when they turn up. It just began exploring the Cult, head tilting and looking incredibly pissed - they were actually worried they were going to completely destroy the place initially. However, when they FINALLY get a moment to pull him aside, they learn that it's the complete opposite of that - The Goat, called Gideon, just has a resting bitch face.
They don't know how they got there, but the two come to a decision that until they figure out how to help him get home, he'll help them with the Bishops and the Cult - and he's very helpful! If not a bit chaotic. And loud.
Lotus and Gideon did a lot of talking during it's time with the Cult of the Night Star, through which it told them that HE had his own Cult - though he wasn't as serious with the name, actively calling it 'Monster Fuckers’. He never really explained why.'
A cut a lil bit out, cuz spoilers 😉 but otherwise this is the jist of what I have for Gideon so far! Genuinely can't wait to show more of my own personal au (yet unnamed), and just explore the story!

A quick tutorial on how to Download Fics from AO3
After making this poll about the panic that comes when Archive of Our Own goes down, there seems to be a chunk of folks who didn't know they could download fics for offline use, or don't know how to go about it. Here's a quick tutorial for that.
You do not need an AO3 account (unless the fic you are trying to download is restricted to AO3 users only) you only need an internet connection and a device to download to, whether it's PC or a phone.
These instructions work for both desktop and mobile. At the top of the fic, where the chapter index is, there will be the download option on the right side, and an 'Entire Work' button the left side.
For One-Shots: Go ahead and click the download button.
For multiple chapter fics: In order to have the fic download all together instead of downloading each chapter individually, make sure you select the 'Entire Work' button. Like the names says, it displays the entire work on the webpage, and will download the entire fic with all it's chapters in the correct order when you go to download.
Click the download button. You've got a couple of options:
AZW3 - Amazon-developed ebook format that is designed for Kindles and Amazon's systems. Good if you want to read off of a kindle.
EPUB - Standard file format for Ebooks and is basically used as the default for pretty much most ebook readers. This is what I prefer to use when downloading to my phone.
MOBI - An older version of the AZW3. Older but standard as well.
PDF - Downloads the fics as a PDF. Can be read anywhere you can open a PDF.
HTML - Downloads an offline version of the exact webpage you are looking at. Fine if you want to keep the 'look' of AO3 but you can't change the text size or reading style like you can with ebook formats.
Not sure which one to download? Use EPUB since it's standard and readable by pretty much everything, retains images too.
You now have your fic downloaded to your device and can read it on whatever reading app you have. YAY!
Do keep in mind that these are offline files that do not synch with Archive. So if you download an ongoing fic that updates or is edited since you last downloaded, you will need to download it again to have the updated version.

The Pitch Drop Experiment
The experiment demonstrates the fluidity and high viscosity of pitch, a derivative of tar that is the world's thickest known fluid and was once used for waterproofing boats.
Thomas Parnell, UQ's first Professor of Physics, created the experiment in 1927 to illustrate that everyday materials can exhibit quite surprising properties.
At room temperature pitch feels solid - even brittle - and can easily be shattered with a hammer. But, in fact, at room temperature the substance - which is 100 billion times more viscous than water - is actually fluid.
In 1927 Professor Parnell heated a sample of pitch and poured it into a glass funnel with a sealed stem. He allowed the pitch to cool and settle for three years, and then in 1930 he cut the funnel's stem.
Since then, the pitch has slowly dripped out of the funnel - so slowly that it took eight years for the first drop to fall, and more than 40 years for another five to follow.
Now, 87 years after the funnel was cut, only nine drops have fallen - the last drop fell in April 2014 and we expect the next one to fall sometime in the 2020s.
The experiment was set up as a demonstration and is not kept under special environmental conditions - it's kept in a display cabinet - so the rate of flow of the pitch varies with seasonal changes in temperature.
The late Professor John Mainstone became the experiment's second custodian in 1961. He looked after the experiment for 52 years but, like his predecessor Professor Parnell, he passed away before seeing a drop fall.
In the 86 years that the pitch has been dripping, various glitches have prevented anyone from seeing a drop fall.
