It’s called the wisdom saga bc it’s Athena fighting for Odysseus and Telemachus ??? It’s literally about Athena??? The goddess of wisdom???

Anyway I had that moment about half way through god games how did I not put that together sooner (I mean we’ve known the name of the saga for a while now I feel like it was obvious)

I keep seeing this show up on my feed and rightfully so?? it's so good??

I don't think the movies (and tcw to unfortunately) did her character justice. Ik that she wasn't the main character strictly speaking but there was so much potential there that was just never developed.

(also I love the callback to one of Anakin's first lines in tpm)

I know Anakin's desilusions of grandiosity are the talk of the town, but something something Padmé dehumanization of herself as a result of so much survivor trauma and so many close death calls. She's the senator with the highest murder attempts on her, she gets assesination attempts weekly and brushes them off, and she keeps chasing for justice to the point of collition, she sees people dying around her all the time but she keeps on living and living, at some point she's flirting with death as much as Anakin does in the battlefield. And something something, Anakin, ironically, in his extreme trauma and fear of death taking the people he loves, being the only one to say "You're a person, and your name is Padmé, not queen nor senator, and you're as fragile as any other live being" Something something the irony that person that most adored her being also the one who saw her as a person Something something Anakin commiting atrocities not for a goddess, no for a politician no for royalty, for a person. Something something how contrarian it is, that Anakin sees himself as a weapon, and Padmé's extreme guilt becoming what seems like superiority.

And particularly here in this comic something something how easily Anakin can walk through that storm Padme has created, how easily he can enter into her headspace and she doesn't flinch, doesn't blink, she isn't even surprised because she expects him and he's the only one that knows and can reach her like this, they're just having a conversation, something something.

Something.

I swear this was the end of me, so idc if i'm rambling, this comic kept me up awake for more than one day, because the power would go out every single time i sat to work on it, damnit

Knowing that k2so and Cassian are coming back to Star Wars is what’s going to get me through the fall semester

Oh yea definitely I mean Merlin basically lost his father trying to fight back against Kilgharra. And thats after he used and manipulated Merlin so he could be released and take revenge on Uther, killing other people in the process.

He absolutely has so much to blame him for but later in the series their relationship takes on a new kind of symbiosis (mainly after Aithusa shows up) and we get some quality exhausted-dragon-babysitter moments that add some lightness to everything they have dealt with from each other. Definitely not all rainbows and sunshine but you can tell they get to know each other better over the years.

Whether Merlin ever truly and completely forgives him for the past is something I don’t think I can answer for certain. My best guess would be no, he doesn’t, but instead finds some sort of balance in his new role as dragon lord (which I honestly don’t think the show did justice but that’s just my opinion).

I rewatched Merlin for the first time in years and collected my thoughts.

Merlin was such a baby in the first season I forget just how tiny and innocent he was.

The number of times Merlin has been suspected of witchcraft and then got out of it is so hilarious like yea here’s this actual wizard but don’t worry he’s been cleared of all charges nothing to worry about here haha

Gaius is to old for this

Sir Leon puts up with so much shit from the Pendragon family

Somebody please give him a vacation he does not get paid enough for this (having to tell his boss that he married a troll was a real low point you can see him losing the will to live)

He's running on three hours of sleep and six cups of coffee

Corrie guard commander Fox reincarnated as a knight of Camelot (working for a maniacal tyrant in the most dramatic political court the world has ever seen will take a lot out of you)

King Cenred is the medieval embodiment of the King of Hybern like that is exactly how I imagine him when I read ACOTAR (Tom Ellis, as always, was a great casting choice)

Freya deserved better Ik she had to die to keep the Excalibur storyline going but she could have been such a great character (merlin was so sad bring his gf back poor baby)

Lancelot my wholesome baby you are to precious for this world you deserved so much better

I can't explain it but I just know Gwaine would have done well on book tok

Ok I know Morgana was a terrible queen and burned the crops but honestly props to her for paying attention to the paperwork

I can’t tell if Agravaine looked at Morgana like a daughter or if he was falling in love with her and honestly both are very disturbing to me.

Aithusa is the most adorable dragon look at his little face Ik he gets attached to Morgana but seriously I can’t not love him.

seeing him so beaten and abused is so sad please get him some help

We should have seen more of him with Merlin

How Kilgharra hasn't cooked Merlin like a costco roast chicken is beyond me, this dragon must have some sort of immortality driven godlike patience in order to put up with that boy as long as he has.

I’m a few episodes into season five and I hit that point where I know what’s coming and it’s making me not want to finish the show. I don’t want to but I feel like I should.

I crapped out. I made it to the episode where Gwen uses the stable boy to try and kill Arthur and then never finished the season. I knew this was going to happen I haven't made it all the way through the series in years. If I ever make it through the end of season five again I'll be sure to give my thoughts but for now I've fallen back into a Gossip Girl rewatch.

Shoutout to the radio station from Singapore that took full advantage of the 12+ hour time difference last night and decided to honor American independence day with Miley Cyrus singing Metallica. You guys are doing great.

I just listened to the plan 99 soundtrack for the first time and someone please tell me why I can see this playing out in my head as I hear it oh my god who approved this

It took me 5 days but I finally finished Jenny's review

I find it completely fascinating how one person can spend four hours putting all of my thoughts and feelings about disney into actual words. She not only justified my already declining opinion of the company, but also expanded my knowledge of the complete buffoonery that is happening over there.

There was so much to unpack and while I think the cost vs quality difference is the main thing, I agree with other people that those little fire closets of shame should have been looked at a little more closely? maybe? aren't there standards for that sort of thing? Idk it both amuses and concerns me everytime I think of five people trying to fit in that little porta potty sized room while the building burns down around them. It's probably a good thing the attraction closed down before there was any real emergency to be dealt with.

She's 100% right about galaxy's edge; the one time I went to disney the best thing I got out of it was some cool Batu photos and a stuffed porg (he wears a santa hat). That was pretty much it.

I would absolutely read a fanfic about Amethia Tope and Skippy, they deserved better. Skippy with the little water dish was the highpoint of the video - which just goes to show how bad the rest of her experience actually was (props to the cast member tho that was adorable).

My overall final thoughts consist of nothing but the singular question "does disney have any idea what's going on?"

I know some people worry about the end of the bad batch being the end of the fandom but I have spent the last few weeks obsessing over various works by Jane Austen and she’s been dead for 200 years so I really don’t think we have anything to worry about
