It Looks A Little Too Much Like A Picture I Did Earlier This Year, I Think, But I'm Happy With It Right

It looks a little too much like a picture I did earlier this year, I think, but I'm happy with it right now. It's just a fanart I'm drawing to amuse myself, so if it turns out bland I'm not overly concerned.

Coldfire Trilogy Fanart, Inspired By The Scene In The Prologue Of The First Book, Or, I Really Need Less

Coldfire trilogy fanart, inspired by the scene in the prologue of the first book, or, I really need less nerdy hobbies.

Never drawing anything this dark again digitally. I hate knowing that shitty-contrasted monitors are going to ruin something I spent two weeks on.

Got My Painting Mojo Back. >> Finally.

Got my painting mojo back. >> Finally.

It's not that this picture is quantifiable-y better than anything I've done in the last month. It has some problems and I'm not sure it's really in my range. But it's how I feel about it. I feel like this is fun again.

Remember That Thumbnail From Before? I Revisited It. Made It Better. Realized That None Of What Had Been

Remember that thumbnail from before? I revisited it. Made it better. Realized that none of what had been wrong with it before was actually why I'd discarded it. It definitely requires very different and way stronger skills than I have to make work.

I still like the idea of a very environmental piece (man, I love gaia contests because I feel like I can just throw anything out there and see if it works), but I need to do something I can actually draw. Light, for instance, rather than 4pt perspective. Figures that are large enough to see. I like experimenting, and I know diversity is a font of improvement, but there's a difference between experimenting and jumping off a cliff, and it's not a very fine line between them.
