Categories of people who point at the main character two thirds of the way through a movie and ask "who's that guy":

Tired

Easily distracted

Simultaneously consuming another, unrelated piece of media and thinks they're much better at multitasking than they really are

Has trouble with faces and needs clarification regarding which of several characters with vaguely similar haircuts they're currently looking at

Needs to consume media in ten-minute stretches with rest breaks in between or else their brain gets full and starts discarding information at random

Mentally left the room 45 minutes ago and is only now returning

Gets films mixed up with such striking efficiency that they've already confused the plot of the movie they're currently watching with the plot of a completely different movie featuring one or more of the same actors

Started writing fanfic in their head while they watched, then returned their attention to the film only to discover that their headcanons have diverged so rapidly in that brief span that the source material is now unrecognisable

Watches with perfect attentiveness, but fundamentally does not experience film as a medium which relates a connected narrative; each scene is a moment in time, bare and gleaming, with no necessary relation to what's come before and no necessary import with respect to what comes after

Knows perfectly well who that guy is; is just trying to annoy you

Imagining new scenarios and getting flustered for no reason lets gooo

Heyo! I just realized something that I probably should have realized earlier since I was the one who asked for freckles. I was talking about Uroboros to my mum and she was wondering about why deities can have freckles if they're supposed to be perfect. After all, freckles are something you get over time. I explained to my mum that it's simply how the deity chooses to present themself. Then my mum said something about her mum calling freckles kisses from the sun.

I- My MC has freckles... and she wants to romance Salvatore... "sunkisses" aaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAA

🥹 Yes!! I also thought the same thing as your mom! I know others may view it as an imperfection as well, but as you said, it really is however a deity wishes to present themselves.

... but thinking on it again, if that's the logic, I think scars may also be viable as well!

Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.

have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.

and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.

black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.

if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
