i keep seeing AWFUL skintone ranges in art and picrews so here's some advice

skintone darkness is not a light to dark slider. the skin cloud is a good place to start:

notice how there are different undertones- yellow, pink, red, orange. and there's actually a good range of darkness. the skin cloud isn't perfect but it's a really good example!

i want to mention one specific example- there's not enough mixed race skintones represented in art. now obviously i can't speak for other races, but in my experience, i rarely see a good range of latino skintones (which sucks because i am a mixed race latino!!) not every latino person looks like this:

there are afro-latinos, white latinos, asian latinos, and so much more!! we are not represented by one single skin tone. there are different undertones, different darkness, etc.

and of course, this extends to other races. so please make sure you are representing as many people as possible. if you are not willing to put the effort in, help in other ways. people of color want to be represented.

Not from Reddit but am fairly new to how things work.

Tumblr Migration 2: Reddit Boogaloo

We all know about the Twitter immigrants, but there seems to be radio silence on what's happening now with Reddit users from certain subreddits doing a similar thing.

What's happening?

Reddit is restricting their API later this month and killing off third-party apps. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the CEO Steve Hoffman was held and it was clear that he would continue with the changes.

In protest, thousands of subreddits across the site are planning to go dark for 48 hours on June 12th. Some are planning to continue indefinitely until the changes are reversed.

Okay, so how does this affect Tumblr?

Some subreddits (mainly queer and left-leaning meme ones, don't worry too much about Reddit Atheists™ overrunning us) are encouraging their users to jump ship to our beloved - and beloathed - hellsite. There will be another influx of new users and many will be unfamiliar with how the site works.

What do us Tumblr users do?

Show them how to use the site; introduce them to the site's culture, tell them to reblog shit and curate their dashboard. Sorta like how we welcomed Twitter users back when they flocked here. Kungpowpenising optional.

I'm new from Reddit, what do I do here?

CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE AND BANNER TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEFAULT BECAUSE THIS SITE IS FILLED WITH BOTS AND YOU MIGHT BE MISTAKEN FOR ONE. This is the FIRST thing you should do after getting a blog.

Dating Wornhardt Headcanons

Hello! This is my first post, so I hope you like it. Wornhardt is one of my favorite dateable characters from Sun Haven.

Wornhardt loves affection but is very private about it. He doesn’t like kissing in front of others, though Wornhardt is perfectly fine with hugs as pda.

He loves surprise hugs. Whether he is the one hugging or being hugged. And Wornhardt is very huggable. Being a comfortable amount of warm and tall enough to be the large spoon in hugs and cuddling.

Picnics by the windmills? Yes. You bring the food, he will bring the blanket and drinks. Most of the time these picnics are during his lunch break, though occasionally these are night time picnics.

These picnics are always quite peaceful. Laying on the picnic blanket and cuddling while watching the sky… or the windmill going around.

He doesn’t know too much about stars, but if you know a lot, he would love to hear about it.

Wornhardt doesn’t mind if you want to play with his hair. Though he doesn’t always take great care of it. So it gets knotted.

Secretly though he likes his hair being brushed and braided. Though he never knew how to braid hair.

He sometimes plays with your hair, running his hand through it. And if you showed him how to braid, he could braid your hair. Though at first he is rough with pulling the braids tight.

He leaves little love notes for you occasionally. Hiding them into your pockets and onto tables when he visits your home. Wornhardt even leaves small little doodles done with his pen.

Here’s a few examples of them: “You are the cure to my life. Just getting to spend time with you gives me life. Your smile lifts me up when I am down. Your touch eases my worries. My life is now so full, thanks to you.”

And then “The sun rises so that we can appreciate the day. The moon appears so that we can appreciate the night. You appeared in my life so that I can appreciate what it means to love someone. I am forever grateful that you continue to appear every day.”

“Just in case you don’t know how much I love you, I thought I’d put it in writing. I love you more than all of the grains of sand in all of the oceans in all of the world. And that’s just today. Tomorrow I’ll love you more.”

Wornhardt knows you have lots of heavy work to do, from farming, to mining and combat. He doesn’t mind patching up your injuries or even massaging your sore muscles.

Though Wornhardt is going to lecture you sometimes. Especially combat wounds, when he has to cleanse and stitch up the wounds.

He’s really good at getting the knots out of your muscles. Applying just enough pressure to get out the knots and not hurt you too bad. He doesn’t do massages for others unless he has to; or it’s for you.

If you are ticklish, Wornhardt will try to not take too much advantage of it. Though he does find it funny to see your reactions.
