Welcome to my humble portfolio. All of the photography on this blog is by me or, rather, what I make of things. I somewhat defy the sense of Tumblr and do not reblog.

More Posts from Whereisthepoetry
more or less a hiatus
I want to start of by thanking everyone that followed, liked and/or shared my photographs! I started this blog/portfolio earlier this year and have gained a lot of insights, hopefully even evolved. Some people even gave some feedback, that was the most welcome, I have to be honest. It's been really nice for a back alley amateur like me to share my work and have it appreciated.
On that note, I want to continue by saying that, right now, I have only one more roll of film sitting in my Synchrobox, though, and that's it. I hope some of the shots will be worth your while, but with that camera you never know. Neither, if I will finish shooting that roll any time soon.
I did get carried away a bit over the last couple of days with shots that got sorted out the first time around for whichever reason and apart from the last three random shots I might post a couple more, mainly, because my photo manipulation skills have evolved (...) or they seem to fit the mood now. After that, it could be a while before a legitimate update will occur. Could be only a month, in which case this note would seem quite daft.... could be however long. Other projects/ideas are nagging to get more face to face time with my brain.
Cheers everyone! Catch you on the flip side.
I'll bother Auster for this one again:
We’ll be setting a westerly course, plunging into the wilderness.

formidable randomness X

Heading off to the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck tomorrow. Three full days of new Scandinavian cinema, I'm really stoked. Anyway, here are some impressions from last year, I unearthed.
Such art does not merely recall the past as a social casue or aesthetic precedent; it renews the past, refiguring it as a contingent 'in-between' space, that innovates and interrupts the performance of the present. The 'past-present' becomes part of the necessity, not the nostalgia, of living.
Homi K. Bhabha - The location of culture
(two things: (1) "interrupts the performance of the present", sth, I feel, photography is prone to; (2) "necessity"... !!!)
