You are literally being a busybody and gossiping about people’s lives. Except that it can reach MASSES, it is written and will be taken as facts by many people as lots of fans discuss about it like they are facts too. People kill themselves over the lies others spread about them on the Internet. How is it OK to participate in that kind of situation.

People on the INTERNET are not “talking amongst themselves”. They are the ones HARASSING real people. Pretty straight-forward concept. The toxicity does not stem from people pushing back against lies, it stems from people lying and making stuff up in the first place.

You think people speaking up against Larry are the problem instead of the Larries themselves? Incredulous to me. You know what, actually for once making it a thing and drawing attention on the issue might actually be useful if it will decrease the amount of toxicity brewing under the surface all the time due to non-fictional shipping.

And yes, of course I haven’t shipped real people ever in my life in the way you seem to be implying. Everyone can think “Oh, these people would get along well and be cute together”, but the moment you start discussing on the Internet, that is just weird. That kind of thing makes sense to entertain for any significant amount of time only if you intend to introduce those people to each other for real. Think of these people as your friends and acquaintances to see where the limit is, not celebrities you can consume all together.

Tbh, it is weird that you think shipping your favourite celebrities in any form similar to Larry is OK. Also it seems you think gossiping behind their back as long as they don’t see is alright, which to me seems to be considered worse in general, but it is not even really behind their back either because it does get back to them clearly. Again, it is on the INTERNET.

Dear Larries and Larrie Haters:

I've been in lots of fandoms. But the thing going on with Larries and the rest of the One Direction fandom reminds me a lot of what it's like in the Supernatural fandom with Destiel. It got so toxic there because of all the hate that I had to leave. It didnt feel like a family anymore.

There are shippers that take it too far. That contact the celebs and shit and I will NEVER condone that or hatred towards Eleanor of any kind....but I want to say I dont think its harmful if it stays on Wattpad and Tumblr WHERE IT BELONGS.

Dont ask them questions about it. Dont bombard their posts about it. Keep it in the fandom. I think a lot of the toxicity comes from the fact that there are people who take it too far.

They love each other all of them. And they're all deserving of privacy and respect.

But to the people who are nasty and rude to Larry shippers, you're no better than the people you're condemning. It's fine to defend your favs and ask people to not harass them. That's okay. But dont shame them for believing in something that makes them happy. Just keep it in the fandom where it belongs.

Harry said treat people with kindness. That means EVERYBODY.

I'm tired of seeing the negativity on my dash. We are all here for the same reason. We love the boys.
