Above him, the golden hedgehog floated in deep space with a pair of delicate, feathered wings, red eyes blinking on each of those magnificent wings, and his quills and limbs and the centre of his forehead. Shadow cried out. Sonic hushed him.

“Be not afraid, Shadow.” He spoke. “It’s just me.”
