As someone who isn't aro/ace, I honestly find it weird too, like _yes_ I want a partner (in crime. I love crime /jk) but also my freinds love me, and that ain't really.. weird? I find it weird when people are like "oh that's your freind you two must be in love" I mean.. I'm bi-romantic, if all my freinds were in love with me in a romantic way.. then I would have one hell of a harem lmao, but also it would take away a bit of life's fulfilment, to be fair I've had alot of aro/ace freinds from when I was young, so maybe I adopted a less "romance is super imprortant" view, because even with the people I have dated, first and most importantly, they are my best freind, my safe person, and someone I would love, even if we weren't dating, but in a more platonic way, I'm unsure if this ramble makes sense, and I understand I'm not aro and/or ace, but the way the world treats romance, and sex, is obsessive, and gross

why do people assume aromantic people just hate everyone. i see this all the time people assume that just because someone is aro it means they hate them. just because i don't experience romantic love doesn't mean i can't experience other types of love, and even if i couldn't, it doesn't mean i automatically hate everyone i meet.

why is our culture so fucking weird about romance. it's disturbing- that's not the only form of love you will receive as an adult, i promise you this.
