Work today was more hellish than normal.

The clients at the law firm seemed whinier, your coworkers flakier, and your patience non-existent. You’re in no way a prestigious, high level lawyer, and yet everyone around you seems to think they can expect you to act like one without the title or the pay. Shit, even your boss asked if you could count today’s numbers for her and you just had to swallow your laughter. In reality, you’re just a lowly Trial Lawyer trying to make by, but here is everyone else expecting you to be the number cruncher and the filer.

It’s not like you don’t want the responsibility or the tasks. It just sucks that this job is a filler one. It’s not a career and you don’t plan on staying here for five plus years unlike SOME (okay most) of your coworkers. Your dream job is going into criminal law, but…it’s also every other lawyer’s. All you know is you don’t want to be a Trial Lawyer for much longer. There have been too many times where you’ve almost dozed off in court, and that could really leave a mark on your reputation.

There’s only one thing that will help you unwind at this point: the McDonald’s drive through guy.
