Hey Joo Dee, a word of advice: when a massive talking turtle with mystic powers tells you he doesn’t want to change his mask, maybe don’t insist that he change his mask. Just saying 🤷🏽‍♀️

I honestly wasn’t planning on making more fan art for @unorthodoxx-page’s A Tale of Spirits, but this concept has been living in my head rent free ever since I read chapter 18, and it wouldn’t leave me alone until I drew it. Go read this fic if you haven’t done so yet!

A Take of Spirits sneak-peak? 🥺👉👈

Just a note: we will be seeing all the turtles with their respective humans this chapter (yes, that includes Donnie lol)! Sharing this snippet mainly because of the clothes description. It's one of the main things I keep fiddling with.

Sneak Peek (Katara)

“Remember,” Raph hisses.  He tugs at the almost traditional collar around his neck, and the wide sleeves pool to his elbows. The robe is a green two shades later than the near-black of his pants, but the material is breathable. It drapes loosely around his legs before tightening at the ankles. He’s left his feet bare, they both have. 'In case of emergencies' the spirit said. They move easier without them, but Katara fails to see the difference. Raphs clothes lack the silks and sheerness of what they provided Leo, but it cuts a sharp Earth Kingdom image.  “Think stuck-up, think mean, think Draxum!  We’re not leaving this party until we speak to the King.”

“Raph,” Leo sighs.  He moves unhindered in the clothes provided by Joo Dee, almost as if they were made for him.  They probably both were, Katara thinks.  The robe is a brighter green than Raphs, with the same deep green pants hugging his ankles, but the sleeves are made of a softer material.  The sheer silk hangs like a shrowd of pale, translucent green past the whole of his hands.  She thought it was too much green before, but now, in the dark of night, it works.  He looks ethereal with his bare feet and floating fabric.  They both do.   “I got this.  You just worry about being intimidating.  I’ll do all the talking.”

“He can do some of the talking,” Toph frowns.  “People find him a lot scarier than you anyway.”

“Only in looks, height, muscle, and girth,” Leo counts.  He spins and the silk twirls behind him like an afterthought.  “But Raph can’t act to save his life.  He’s marginally better than Donnie, and painfully below Mikey.  I fall in that nice middle ground of believable.”

I truly hate to be this person: when will a tale of spirits update again?

i love your writing so so much, I read everything up to bread crumbs all at once sometime on July and it sPARKED THE SEROTONIN OH MY GOODNESS ALL MY BABIES ARE MAKING FRIENDS and I have been checking literally every week since if it’s updated.

Good writing takes time but is there like a date you’re aiming for to release the next chapter? Soon? Mayhaps? An earlier post said chaps 20 and 21 were in the works and my hopes were high.

of course of course of course run on your own time and take as long as you need until your happy w it. But a vague goal for release or confirmation of hiatus would be so appreciated bc I just re read the most recent chapter and I am TREMBLING with anticipation srsly thank you so much for bringing this fic into the world I love it so much

sorry for the long ask!! Basically any form of an update would be stupendous

So, A Tale of Spirits timeline update! Chapter 20's probably going to be released within the next sevenish days (Yay!) After that, there will be another hiatus (not too long, maybe a month and some change) and then the next update will be the whole thing. And when I say the whole thing, I mean the WHOLE thing. Like, switching the status from in progress to complete lol

It's going to be one massive update, and I'm being honest this time lol. That's what's been slowing me down outside of regular life. The overall rearranging, rewriting, and scrapping of certain aspects of the Fic.

Anyway, when chapter 20 drops that '20/?' will show the total amount of chapters for the story so you guys know what to expect.

And again, just to reiterate, the update after Chapter 20 will be the ENTIRE thing. I'll even make an 'update eminent' post the day/night before the uploading begins.

Raph and Toph from @unorthodoxx-page ‘s fic A Tale of Spirits. I love this duo so much. I tried to style match Avatar the last airbender since the fic takes place in that universe. Quite possibly my favorite cross over fic of all time. It just works! I never cared for episode rewrites, but this fic is the exception. Everything is just done so well!

A Tale of Spirits by @unorthodoxx-page is worth a read!

HA I never thought I would draw Avatar fanart, but here we are. 

There’s a story, A Tale of Spirits by @unorthodoxx-page on AO3 that I’ve been keeping up on because it’s amusing and my interest was piqued with the mystery that is in there around the boys. The author released sneak peaks on tumblr for the next chapter, and this most recent one was about the rumours that are spreading about the boys and I was like O^O * smacks keyboard * I must draw them, that sounds badass. I reworded the rumours so they would be a  continuous paragraph, but I hopefully kept the same mood. The original post is linked in the text at the top.

So far my all time favorite thing about this story though is Donnie and Ty Lee being buddies X’D It’s the best.
