Action Film - Tumblr Posts

Today a classic action film in the local cinema. Probably ten years ago I saw this RoboCop the last time and have to admit, I'm a bit stoked to see it on the big screen and in OV.

Movie Review: FABRICATED CITY (2017)

FABRICATED CITY (2017) Movie Review
As the film where (then) the up-and-coming hallyu action star Ji Chang-wook debuted as a lead actor, Fabricated City shows enough crisp fight scenes and heart-pumping setup to match what the usual revenge thriller films serve. Power play, deceit, and the intent to be proven innocent are a few of the main themes that propel this film’s plot.
Fabricated City exhibits remarkable resemblance to the premise of most character-driven online videogames – in order to achieve a mission, they must work as a team. All throughout the movie, action, and video game enthusiasts will surely be entertained most especially with satisfying framing of high-tech surveillance and fight scenes. A couple of lightly heated scenes were matched with laidback musical scoring that serves as breathers to the film’s rapid-fire progression. Despite the Fabricated City’s seemingly snappy plot, it still manages to portray few well-built characters although there is a lack of character development.
One can note how subtly this film shows annotations towards not only South Korea’s but to Asian countries’ surprisingly modern view of where the underprivileged stands among the country’s elites. Paired with the pressure from the media, anything could be manipulated from a simple video clip to a trial’s verdict.
