first and foremost, this blog is like a safe place, so please be respectful and kind when interacting or else you will be blocked immediately.
i try to post as often as i can! it will most likely be when I'm not preoccupied. my schedule will probably be uploading fics/whatever on sats and sun! I could post on both of those days, 1 of them, or none of them for a week but rest assured it’s for the best! I want to feel confident in what I put out for my followers anyone who reads my material :)

one of the best listeners there is, I said it.
despite his persona, he could listen to you for HOURS and not get tired. also the type to remember specific things you like that you mention in passing and you get surprised when he knows what you mean
he could be gambling and you could be talking to him and he would almost memorize all of what you’re throwing at him.
the type of person to hype the shit out of you in closed quarters
ALSO ALSO IMAGINE GOSSIP KING AVEN like that would be so cute. you could text him during your lunch break at work and be like “omg babe guess what?” and no matter how busy he is, he ALWAYS responds immediately and it stuns you how quick he is.
The type to throw/spend his credits on you almost (not enough to be reckless but you get what I mean) recklessly, but if you ask him to stop, he will. spending his credits on you is NOT his love language (imo)
he gets very cuddly at night and he is pretty warm to cuddle with (not in the summertime when it’s abysmally hot tho). he knows when to back off.
when you called him Kakavasha for the first time, he cried because he has never been so emotionally vulnerable with someone before except for his sister.
your honor, I love him (10/10 experience, y’all work shit out together)

he is also a very good listener but will interrupt your tangents of interest to ask questions because he is curious and this is a subject he wishes to know better.
Despite his “I hate idiots” aura/attitude, he would do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING for you. you want a hug? it’ll be awkward as fuck, but he’ll give you one.
top of the head/forehead kisses >>> for him are the way to this man’s heart, I just know it. he also likes giving you those types of kisses in closed quarters.
I can’t see him liking butterfly kisses though, it would take too much adjusting and for whatever reason, it overwhelms him.
texts you about his teachings, research, or any breakthroughs in whatever he’s doing as well as plans to stay late etc.,
his communication skills are top-notch it’s kinda crazy.
Topaz and Aventurine found out you’re his Lock Screen/ Home Screen, and they won’t let ratio love it down. (They love you too and probably don’t know you)
9/10 experience because sometimes he can be a lil’ mean but he quickly apologizes to you so it goes back up to 10/10 :3
jing yuan
the clingiest motherfucker it’s insane, but you love it.
anytime he gets a break, he messages you about how much he misses you.
this man WILL pass the fuck out if you scratch his scalp, I just know it. the second your hands go through his hair and take out the ribbon, it’s game over for both of you. good luck trying to move an almost corpse with how heavy he can sleep.
he tells yanqing ALL about you if he gets the feeling he is going to marry you. granted, you’d have to be with him for a long ass time before he tells yanqing anything about you, but if he has that feeling, he and yanqing will be having a session of talking about you and respecting people (instead of their rigorous training) cause why the hell not :D
he will be happy and upset if you’re a long-living species like he is, because while he wants to live forever with you, it’s possible he may get sad because of something happening with you.
clingy but not overbearing- if you get overwhelmed, he WILL pick up on the signs and give space if you need it.
I saw a post (which I reblogged bc that’s so smart fr) as well as yunli’s trailer (idk I think that’s what they said that was from) that jing yuan went “pspspsps” and i think he definitely treats you like a cat and does “pspspsps” to get your attention. you could be reading or doing something (your attention is not on him) and he’ll just go “pspspsps (name)” and it irritates the shit out of you

synopsis: a “young” person unexpectedly bumps into their soulmate (prompt was taken from thewritepractice.com)

a/n: tbh not proud of this but that’s not the point lol. can read as fem reader or gender-neutral! the title has not correlation to the fic, and if yk where i got the title from, ur a real one (txt song). Also vidyadhara reader who is a healer ‘cause i said so. You work with lingsha lots- she’s the reason for your meeting :D
For once, the world was at peace. At least, that’s what you thought. Lingsha had sent you out on a small mission to get something for her, and you get interrupted as you’re on your way to your destination. Out of nowhere, there’s screaming and so much noise going on. Curiosity gets the better of you and you go and search where the sound is coming from. You rush to the scene and are met with mara-struck soldiers. Not unusual, scratch that, what the hell is going on. A young boy with blonde hair is fighting these monsters, and you feel obligated to give support, healing the boy when he gets scratches on him. You then notice a glimmer of white hair out of your peripheral. Suddenly, the lightning lord finishes off the foes you and the boy faced. That was quick, you thought.
“Well done, Yanqing. Though, your technique was a bit rushed,” the white haired male said.
“Thank you, general, I will make note of that,” the boy responded.
Wait, general?! I helped the apprentice? Aw, shit, Lingsha will NOT let me live this down, you thought.
When you made eye contact with him, the world stopped momentarily. Things stopped moving and it was as if only you two were capable of moving. Time slowed, and you could feel it. If every cliche moment happened at once, that’s what your entire existence felt like. Did you just meet your soulmate; wait, was he talking to you?
“Thank you for helping my apprentice,” Jing Yuan said.
“Oh, it was nothing! I just made sure he was healthy and well,” you replied. The general smiled slightly, looked at Yanqing, and back to you.
“Where are you headed?”
“Oh, Miss Lingsha needed me to grab something for her in Starskiff Haven.”
“We’ll escort you there.”
“No no! That’s not necessary!”
“You never know what dangers may await you- lest you get hurt.”
And so, that’s how the general and his apprentice walked you to Starskiff Haven and back to the Alchemy Commission where Lingsha was waiting. You were never going to hear the end of this from her, were you?

Speaking of jiaoqiu, since he knew sushang as a baby, he could have known guinaifen as a small kid too and that makes my heart happy (just a theory, not confirmed, but the sushang bit is real)
kids absolutely flock to her when they’re lost and since she’s probably good with kids, she comforts them and sits with them until their parents show up

synopsis: when veritas feels lost in his research, you’re always there for support.

veritas ratio could be seen as stubborn by some, and they would be right. the man has eight doctoral degrees and never seemed to quit anything (see the eight leaves on his head that represent his doctorates). he also never voiced his struggles. he was always too unwilling to admit he needed help, and that was something he told you he’d work on- and in his defense, he has gotten better. but old habits die hard, most notably seen in veritas’ office. one of his students had asked him a question that deeply puzzled the man, which was rare, but still happened. and now he’s cooped up in his office trying to seek answers. a gentle knock was heard at his office door. his head turned so quickly it could have given him whiplash, and he almost cringed at his own reaction.
“come in,” he said.
and in you came. you brought him his favorite snacks, drinks, a blanket, and honestly, veritas almost teared up at the gesture despite his arrogant facade.
“wow, you look like shit. you need a break,” you said.
“such a nice and endearing way to address your partner. you almost forgot the 'hi, veritas! how are you?' anyway, I can’t. i’m so close to finding the answer, and i cannot stop when i’m so close,” he argued.
“Okay, and have you seen how exhausted you are?” you counterargued.
That shut veritas up, and while he wasn’t typically up for debates, he was thankful you won this time. and like a moth to a flame, veritas ratio found himself wanting to be in you embrace, in your warm and tender embrace. You spent the night cuddling in his office and just reassuring kind and encouraging words to each other. veritas may act like a cocky and arrogant son of a bitch, but he was such a sweet and tender man, something you wouldn’t expect of him to be.

i'm thinking of a bright and sunny day where he takes you to the biggest field of flowers you’ve ever seen. and to put icing on the cake, he has a basket for a picnic. they’re your favorite flowers, he knows this, and even though he’s mildly allergic to the pollen the flowers produce, he gives you a smile that says go run, we both know you want to. oh, he doesn’t have to tell you twice before you take off running. right as you start sprinting, you hear him let out a soft chuckle at your child-like and happy self. this was arguably one of his best ideas and he feels the weight of the box in his pocket emphasize his good decision-making. soon, he tells himself. for now, he just watches you with awe as you run through the field, care-free as ever, and wave to him. he finds himself smiling back and waving. god, he’s so in love with you. everything you do makes him wonder how lucky he was to be with you. you don’t know what lies ahead, but you’re both glad to be together to make this chaotic life work. he feels the weighted box in his pocket shift slightly and even though he told himself he would ask soon, seeing you makes him want to ask the question earlier than he intends to- he knows your answer anyway…

fall is one of the best times of the year- the weather, the coziness, the vibes and everything else are great. but the best part? relaxing with your lover in your shared home. words may not even need to be exchanged, and the silence is comfortable. you focus on doing your tasks, and he focuses on his. you both bask in each other’s presence and are immensely comfortable with each other. after a long day, you end up on the couch, relaxed and without a care in the world, and everything is at ease. you’re wrapped up in his arms while he tells you about how his day was when he notices your head droops and rests on his shoulder. he swears to those above he almost stops breathing just to ensure your comfort on his shoulder. once he’s certain you’re passed out, he lays back on the couch and pulls you up to rest on his chest, his hands rubbing up and down your back and sides in soothing motions. he wishes you were still conscious when he told you “i love you” one more time before he, too, fell asleep, happy to be with you in the cozy atmosphere in fall and love.

puts on the gentleman act for you, but it’s not overwhelming or overbearing
when you cuddle, he tends to whisper kind and almost encouraging words to you
you can be in his office just chilling and your presence makes him work quicker so he can be by your side
would probably like if you preen his feathers, but you’d have to be overly careful with it (like having an extremely sensitive scalp if ykwim)
