all good things come to an end, even partnerships in wrestling. percy was one of alex's greatest accomplishments, taking the cowboy from rancher to multiple-time champion. however, egos always rise when people get to sit at the top. with as bold of personalities as they had, it was only a matter of time before they clashed to see who actually needed who more.
you don't get to sit at the top of the wrestling world mountain without having some measure of skill about you. percival's 'country-style' brand of wrestling meant that he got down and dirty with ease. he was never scared to 'take it there'. knowing he could handle it and his opponent? not so much. given that alexander was the 'quintessential city boy', he knew that his old manager wasn't going to be able to last all that long against him. all he had to do was turn up the heat.
he loved hearing the man scream out as he was locked in his Cattle Call submission hold. Usually, he would slow them down or ram their head into the turnbuckle. However, this time around, he was thinking it far more appropriate to suspend him in the air and make him beg to be released.
