What I love about BTS Music | 2

Your question: Hey Smiles, what are you doing?

My answer: read this and then join me

Never out of style. Why will BTS never go out of style? They’re always trying new things. They keep up with what’s popular in music; I consider that to be an extremely, extremely artist-thing to do and that deserves respect and recognition that they are, in-fact, artists. They keep up with what’s going on in the news and what’s going on in the world so they can provide a response to it. The sound works for the present time and the messages will work forever. You can typically call out a band’s particular style. When you hear one of they’re songs, you snap and click, “Ah, yes, that’s them.” To be honest, if you ask me what’s BTS’ style, I can’t give you a specific answer. They try different things, they go everywhere. All I know is that they’re making music, and they’re good. Yoongi himself said that they don’t want to stick to any particular style, and wants to try out different genres.

Blood, Sweat, and Tears’ genre is called moombahton trap. (1:40). Rap Monster explains it in the link.

Once again, they’re “keeping up with worldwide trends” in YNWA. Spring Day is a combination of British rock and electronic pop, to create alternative hip-hop. So not only do they take the trends, they convert those trends to match their style.

And while I’m at it, let’s appreciate their ability to successfully tackle different genres. Not only do they try to do different things, it works. It’s difficult, because artists tend to have some sort of MO on their style and make it their own. It’s difficult to jump into different genre’s you’re not familiar with, or you’ve never tried, and make yourself outstanding. People tend to flop when trying new things. But not BTS. I believe it’s because we already know that they don’t consider themselves tied to any specific genre, so we’re not anticipating for the same old stuff; we know they’re going to stay flexible with their genre and we make peace with that and keep an open mind. Even so, “Spring Day” is something most people, if not anyone, thought BTS wouldn’t touch. I personally was very surprised by the teaser and I was a little worried it won’t match my expectation. But to be honest, through the first play I did on the MV, I loved it from the start of Rap Monster’s rap (AND OMG Suga and his tongue technology escorted me onto a first class flight to HK […I wish I was joking…]). And I cried the second time, “No darkness, no season lasts forever.” I really, really, really, didn’t expect too much from Spring Day, but I was wrong. It’s a great song. Music and lyrics. it’s so good, I made a paragraph to it. I’m so blown away by how confident they were before the release how many people would listen to it. How confident do you have to be to express it so excitedly, even if you’ve never tried it before? It’s a skill I do not possess. Also, I saw this post, and legit, I cried (reasons in the tags, I’m not gonna get into that here).

Participation credit. Big or small, one or all, every member has participated in the making of a song. Even if not every member works on the song writing, composing, producing, and/or etc., every song, the boys still come together and agree on the song concept, the message, the sound of it. And after that, they do their best to distribute the lines to the appropriate members together. Not many idols participate this way in the making of a song; and I don’t know how other groups distribute their lines, but I wonder if they have the same teamwork that BTS has in this way. Reporters pointed out that BTS stands out in many ways, but one thing they enjoy is that BTS can actually talk about their music because they were a part of its process.
