Chigiri Hyoma and my rants about him.
Please note that this contains major spoilers from the manga.

Also please keep in mind that just because you like a character a lot does not mean that you can't find any flaws in them.
I for one am a huge fan of characters when they have their own flaws but Chigiri Hyoma has become bland to me.
"Yes, this beautiful character has become bland."
Chigiri Hyoma was introduced to us as a mysterious and charming character. We knew almost nothing about him until Isagi had basically forced him to tell about said past.
We later find everything about him after the match of TEAM W.
POINT ONE: Chigiri Hyoma had his character development too fast.
Chigiri Hyoma has shown little development since that. He has always and will always depend on his speed. That is his own character and I cannot refute that by any point.
BUT! What I can say is that he has become bland. (and I will repeat that multiple times in this thread(?))
He always says "I'll stop you with my speed" and proceeds to not stop them. (mostly)
I will say that he has improved in the current chapters but I still think that he can have more development.
POINT TWO: He's too dependent on his speed and history will repeat itself if he continues to do that.
In the U-20 match (when I re-read it because I was simping over Sae and Chigiri) I realized that Chigiri Hyoma is not an important character. Neither is Bachira or Rin or Shidou or Sae, not even Kaiser for that matter. There is only Isagi. No one else. (Going strong with the egoistic vibe)

While it is true that many other characters have shown development during this particular arc and other arcs as well, Chigiri did not shine. His speed would've been more useful. (After Chigiri and Niko were substituted, there was a chance. What Ego said to Chigiri is still in my mind and it has to be utilized.)

He did shine, yes, he did very well during the match and he also showed his disappointment in himself. I am at a point where I'm refuting everything I say so yeah-

If it is never utilised then what is the use of Chigiri Hyoma (as his own character)?

POINT THREE: This was the absolute best moment for Chigiri Hyoma to shine. (as a character) There should've been more. There should've been more of "IF ONLY" stuff.
Chigiri Hyoma is a helper. He's too kind for his own good. So much so that with his help, his friends surpass him but he doesn't surpass them. (If Chigiri Hyoma was never injured in the first place, he would be a step forward than anyone else.)
POINT FOUR: He's Isagi's side chick. (I have no better way of phrasing it.) He basically- he's so ??? I mean yes, helping your friends is wonderful but Chigiri Hyoma is the reason Isagi understands most of the things.
If there was a slight chance of Chigiri receiving more character development then that would include Kunigami and how to turn him back to how he was.
POINT FIVE: I personally hate it when two characters receive said development because of a ship. This isn't beauty and the beast.
Kunigiri stans might love it but I hate it.
Don't come for me Chigiri stans, I love and adore him as a character but his way of playing soccer/football is very boring. Sure it's flashy and cool but it's boring.

Anyways, I think I now know why I love Chigiri Hyoma so much. (Partly the reason being that he's pretty + an angsty backstory)
There's something in sports anime I love when a character has this mental breakdown and is just like "I MUST DO THIS" type of main character thing. Yeah. I love it.

and it gives me so many flashbacks to that one scene in Haikyuu where Tsukishima Kei goes "It's just one point out of 25" like chef's kiss. I love it.
I love and adore Uchiyama Koki's voice. I love it so much. It's so near and dear to my heart. I love it.
The vibes are so similar, I love it. I love Tsukishima and Chigiri.

Okay but the fact that Enka statues arent eroded makes me think that time doesn't pass in Enkanomiya at all. Even if it does, it does so very slowly.
About Seelies, their Palaces in the Dark Sea & how they're Probably Related to Andrius (TL;DR)
Their palaces are in the Dark Sea, where The Seven have no jurisdiction. They brought wisdom to mankind, & probably so to other entities like the Andrius, "the Wolf the North".
Their palaces are in the Dark Sea, & Enkanomiya is also exactly there, but there was no Seelie civilization there; there were just humans from the Unified Civilization as far as we know. It's quite interesting that the Seelie courts are eroded by the time all around Teyvat, but in Enkanomiya they aren't.
For a while, I used to think that the ruins that are around all Teyvat's surface, were the architecture of the Seelies, but this isn't the case at all bc according to the book "A Drunkard's Tale" the Seelie palaces are in the Dark Sea.
And now that we're talking about the Dark Sea and the "A Drunkard's Tale", there's smth pretty interesting I'd like to mention about...Columbina.
In "A Drunkard's Tale" Vol. 3 we learn the tale about a lone wolf, that once wandered in the a "cruel" wasteland; a place that seems to be far beyond the dominion of Celestia, with the remains of fallen gods and others that escaped there after the archon war, (ex. Orobashi).
According to the tale, once the lone wolf passed by a palace where he heard music. Within there, he found a "fair maiden" using an instrument, with a skin "ashen white" & playing a "long-forgotten and mournful melody".
"The chirping of insects on a long-gone autumn night is the chorus of exiles, singing mankind's most ancient song as they live out their plight..." she sang.
"Stripped of all that the body once held close and the soul once held dear, song and memories are all that now remain of yesteryear."
"The last singers, the first Seelie, they played their final tune in the halls of angels."
The Seelies in the area approached the pale white maiden to listen to her music. The wolf asked about the song to the maiden, and the maiden replied "A song of the Seelie".
"Long, long ago, we wrote this song for the human savages. Yet now, we sing it to mourn our own fate."
This maiden was clearly a Seelie who seems to still maintain her human form, & we're told that Andrius received his powers from an ancient god...could this god be the Seelie from the tale? he has a very icy windy ghostly anemo form, just like Seelies.

I'd like to also talk about a possible mention of a Seelie (maybe even Columbina, asuming that she's a Seelie), in the artifact set "Adventurer" in the "Plume of Death", there's a mention of an adventurer meeting a "girl so beautiful" that even her appearance felt surreal.
And do you all know what else did the girl had? that's right! a cluster of feathers!! the similarities are too coincidental tbh...but who knows! anyone in Teyvat could be incredibly beautiful girl with a cluster of feathers, right?... right??

Last Book: The last Books I've read were "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka and "The Poet X" by Elizabeth Acevedo. Right now I'm reading "Babel" by R.F Kuang.
Last Fic: None I can recall as I haven't been reading but this one slaps. Not_the_Rat_King, I love their fr.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: All three would be nice, although if it isn't close to dessert I would not mind mostly savory and a bit spicy.

Current Obsession: I don't have a singular obsession, but I suppose my materials research takes the largest chunk of my time at the moment. Outside of research work, my music rotation currently is Christopher Tin - Twice - Taylor Swift - Red Velvet - Thomas Bergersen. (The idol groups tend to change somewhat more frequently than the composers or the solo act, and also my genres are everywhere, and the rotation loops back ehehehe...). As you can hopefully see by now, I am not built correctly for a satisfactory answer for this category.
Last Book: I'm currently alternating between "To the Lighthouse" by Virginia Woolf, and "This is How You Lose the Time War" by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone.
Do research articles fall under book? If so, mostly stuff about hexagons. I would like to not spoil my studies further until I have something conclusive to show for it.
Last Fic: "That's what love feels like I think" by Saberin recently posted valentines fanfic re: Bocchi the Rock band poly. It cute.
Looking Forward To: After my undergrad final presentation in a couple weeks, I would like to return playing Star Rail, at least on auto, and exploring a chunk of Genshin beyond Dharma Forest (but also I have to catch up on the story quests from the underground Chasm!!!!) so I can progress a bit into my worldbuilding studies on it, at least for what remains of the spring holidays. In the longer term sense of things, I would like a successful experimental trial please, thank you.

Though, that's pretty unlikely. PS: This is the third time the 'bet you don't know this anomaly' has appeared. Since it was first posted when the PC came to the academy, two months have passed since she began the Hotarubi mission.
Kaito briefly mentioned the dissidents would be happy in the prologue. Though that was for Vagastrom having two ghouls that would affect the power balance. I think Zenji and Suba were in Hotarubi from the start?

Edward behind a suspect in the murder of the One-Eyed Sleeping Beauty feels like a stretch ngl. [It's just kinda weird? He's an old man, the strongest vamp, sure but he's an old man who watches youtube streams all day.] [Bro was probably sleeping when the Clash occurred. UNLESS it occurred at night, then it's believable he killed someone.] In the prologue, Kaito starts telling us a rumour about the Captain of Obscuary but is stopped when Cornelius interrupts because of the prophecy. [iirc] But, the One-Eyed Sleeping Beauty caused the clash. The suspects are: 1) Jiro Kirisaki - [1st year at the time] 2) Alan Mido - [2nd year at the time] 3) Towa Otonashi - [Ist year at the time] 4) Rui Mizuki - [2nd year at the time] 5) Edward Hart - [399 years old at the time??]/[2nd year at the time] If the PC is the One-Eyed Sleeping Beauty from another timeline, it's very surprising that Taiga isn't on the list. Bro even wants to forget his memories of the day he arrived in Darkwick so nothing would ever happen. [Taiga's so weird man. I love him.]
