Unexpected Guest
Aomine didn’t plan on running into you at your parents place but there you were interrupting him and the important question he was about to ask.
Warnings: None just pure fluff (this is post college time skip btw)
He had run to your childhood home on a whim, unsure of how to state his question. He couldn’t just blurt out that he wanted to marry you. If he did he definitely wouldn’t be getting your parents blessing.
He stood outside of the door for what seemed to be ages before hesitantly knocking. Your father opened the door swiftly, frowning when he saw Aomine at the door. He will really have to work hard for this blessing.
Your mother was surprised to see him and excited asked him to join them for dinner. (She somehow forgot the fact that you would be home soon.)
The evening continued with your mother asking questions and Aomine hastily answering them. He couldn’t take the pressure of your father staring through the back of his head anymore and switched to the main topic of his visit.
“I would like to ask both of you a question.” Your father being very attentive to his words. He reached inside of his pocket, gripping the velvet box. Your mothers eyes widen, a faint smile on her lips. “If it’s okay with you guys I wou—“
The sound of the door bell cut him off, your mother running to the door excitedly. “You might want to put that away unless you want them to see it, alright?” Aomine followed her instructions quickly as the door flew open.
He didn’t plan on running into you today, not in this way at least. He wanted his arrival to be a big surprise. Something that would leave you speechless, but that was all lost hope now. Especially when your eyes connected.
“Aomine…” His name was barley a whisper on your lips. You dropped the bags in your hands and ran towards him, tears streaming down your face. He gripped you tightly, spinning you around. “Hey, baby.”
He kissed your hair every now and then has you cried in his arms. “Did I surprise you?” You gave him a soft nod. This was the last thing you had expected to see tonight. Waiting here for you with open arms was Aomine, the man you never thought you would get to see again.
You stayed like that for a moment, swaying back and forth in Aomine’s arms as he continued to kiss you. Your parents, watching from afar, gave Aomine a reassuring nod.
He finally has permission to marry you.
