Aromantic Lesbian - Tumblr Posts

I think it's 2 main things.

The main one is that, outside of the aspec community, the split-attraction model (the splitting of romantic and sexual attraction) isn't that well known and due to amatonormativity, people see your sexual preferences as romantic preferences and vice versa.

the second point is far more anecdotal. In my experience as an aroace person on Tumblr (which makes this terrible excuse of "data" even worse), the amount of people who identify as only aro or ace, seems to be lower than people who identify as aroace. Again, this is me speaking within what is most likely an echo chamber, but combined with the previous point above, it can make it more likely to a layperson that aro also means ace and ace also means aro, when in reality it absolutely does not.

Best way of dealing with this, is for more people to know about aromanticism and asexuality, and the fact that they don't come as a package together 100% of the time. Unfortunately for us in the here and now, that will take a while, so until then, best of luck soldier.

Why does everyone act like aromantic and asexual are the same, everytime I tell someone I’m aro they immediately think I’m ace or ace spec

BorealAqua Lesbian

Nine strip flag that gradients from violet to cyan and it has a heart with these same colours, but upside down and with a lavender tint.

BorealAqua Lesbian, Boreal Lesbian, Aqua Lesbian, or simply B.A. Lesbian is a term for lesbians who don't seek/prioritize neither sexual or romantic relationships. BorealAqua Lesbians might, or might not, want other unique types of relationships with other non-men, like QPRs, for example.

The violet and the lavender tint covering the heart were chosen because of the history surrounding these colours, like the lavender movement or the violets used by lesbians to show interest to each another. Violet means lesbian culture.

The cyan was chosen out of the aroace culture of using, not only purple and green, but also blue and cyan. You can see the blue and/or cyan on some aroace, oriented aroace, demirose, etc. flags, and I used this detail on this flag. You can tell I valued the cyan aspect more than blue, but it's because the colours would be too equal, imp. But the purpose is still the same. Cyan means lack of both romantic and sexual attraction/lack of interest in romantic and sexual relationships.

The gradient means two things: 1- Diversity in the lesbian community; From the butch women to the genderqueer lesbians, from the white lesbians to the lesbians of colour of cultural genders, and others. And 2- The many different and unique relationships that are not exclusively romantic or sexual.

The upside down heart means lesbians who don't seek/don't have/are not in relationships for any reason; Trauma, unable to get a relationship, or simply is not comfortable with being inside a relationship. This last one might seem controversial, but no one is in anyone's heart, everyone is crazy, and lesbians who are only capable of aesthetic attraction are not less lesbian. šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Anyways, I hope y'all liked this flag. I really liked the idea of the Bambi Lesbian and the Aphrodite Lesbian and I decided to do something that has the best of both terms. Babaii! XP
