Summary: After finding a puppy, you're torn by excitement and fear of Dutch's reaction. Will you be able to keep the pupper?

Your love to dogs was always making him curious. Arthur couldn't realize why you were treating animals like they were human beings. Of course, the man loved animals as well, he knew he could trust them fully and they won't fool him, they were truly genuine but your love to them could be called obsession very easily.
Exactly this fact caused him left his tent and look around in an attempt to locate the soft barking. I bet she brought another dog, he said to himself.
And he was right indeed. You sat comfortably under a tree with a puppy sitting on your laps. Puppy barked softly trying to get a piece of meat that you had in your hand. "You will get it just give me your paw." You said with a smile.
Arthur leant his side against the tree casually like he would be leaning against the bar counter in the saloon. "Mind to explain me what are you doing? What are you up to?," asked he running his fingers along the edge of his hat.
You looked at Arthur and smiled even more. "Hi there, love! Well, I try to teach this little boy some tricks."
Puppy grabbed the piece of meat and jumped off your laps to toddle to a new friend. Animal looked at Arthur, wagging its tail.
"He loves you!," You whimpered happily.
Older man cocked his brow yet he crouched with a loud gasp, he reached his hand to the puppy and let it sniff him. He knew his scent was strong and it was confirmed shortly after puppy sneezed. "Bless you," Arthur chuckled.
You got up and picked up the puppy, hugging it to your chest. "You see how cute he is, please, don't tell me I have to give it away... Or release it like this one wolf pup," giggling, you started to recalling this one little adventure.
One day you were camping with Arthur, everything was fine until a little puppy walked out of the woods. It was probably interested in meat that was getting ready over a fire, and you, with your love to dogs, wanted to adopt it. Simple and plain. Sadly the joy was over when a huge wolf came out of the woods looking for its cub and Arthur forced you to let the pup go.
"I'm sorry to say it, Y'N, but Dutch is going to say NO to your idea of having this pup around the camp. You are a smart girl, you know very well it might get one's attention and we don't want it to happen, yeah?"
"You don't know what he will say! We will be able to raise him and teach him. He will be able to help during hunts and... And he will protect camp with boys who have guard duties also little Jack will have a friend," you were counting. "I don't want to give him away, I always wanted to have a dog."
"Y/N, you don't think rationally, honeypot," he said sweetly and reached his hand to touch your cheek lightly like the wind touches leaves of trees with its soft north breeze. "I happen to know him for years and it's safe to say he won't be amused."
"He won't be amused but you don't know for sure he won't agree, Arthur. This isn't fair,” you muttered hugging the puppy.
"You can always go and ask him by your own," he smirked and pointed on the direction of Dutch's tent.
"And I will do just that, Mr. Morgan.," You said proudly and did just that. Still hugging the puppy, you walked to Dutch's tent.
Dutch was talking to Molly at the time but as soon as he spotted you, he raised corner of his mouth in a soft smirk. "Y/N, how can I...," he stopped when he saw the puppy you were holding in your arms.
Now you were a little scared but you kept you pride. "Dutch... I want to keep this puppy with us.," You informed him.
"What for, Y/N?," he asked simply and frowned. "You have your horse but as I can see it's not enough, still."
"Everyone has horses," you muttered, scratching dog's ear. "Well... I will teach him how to help during hunts and how to guard the camp. He will do this when he gets big, even little Jack will have friend to play with," you explained being sure of your arguments.
"Jack has friends among us, he doesn't need this ball of fur to accompany him," Dutch said within harsh voice, maybe harsher than he intended. "But okay, let it be, but Morgan has to keep his eye on the training this little hound will be getting. Understood?"
You whimpered happily and jumped up. "Thank you Dutch! And he will, I promise to do my best!"
You giggled and walked back to Arthur proudly. "Oh! He ain't gonna agree, Y/N. I know him for years,” you imitated Arthur’s voice, mocking him.
He was chewing a blade of grass and he rolled his eyes when he heard your happy voice and words you've just spoken. "Whatever he says," Arthur Morgan gasped.
"And you have to keep your eye on our training," you added, walking past him, ready to start the puppy’s training any moment.
Arthur smirked more to himself than to you and whispered: "Yeah, as I always do."
