Another fic because work bores me, based around the ending of the first mission of Witch Queen

"How long have they sat there?" He asks.
"Talkin' to me?" Amanda grunts, attempting to fix the motor in her hands.
"Are you still-"
"I am. But they've been sat there for three hours and hasn' moved an inch. Wrench."
Crow takes his right hand and picks up the wrench, handing to Amanda as she goes for a bolt on the motor grunting at the effort to twist it.
Crow looks to the Guardian again. They're sat in a corner where it was rumored Cayde once frequented, their hands form a small bowl as their Ghost floats there, the two watching the other. Never speaking, never moving.
"The tension is killing me. Hold on." The Crow moves with a flourish, going from Amanda's workbench to the shelf corner in seconds.
He bends down on one knee, and reaches for their shoulder-
"Ah-" Crow slightly startled, a gloved and gentle hand holding their wrist.
The Guardian looks to him, breaking eye contact with their Ghost, the tilt of their head inquiring one question, what?
The Crow huffs, "I was afraid you turned to stone with how long you sat still."
The Guardian huffs, a small smile gracing their lips. With a whoosh of Light and a grunt they stood up, then turned to Crow. The look in their eye is somber now, and their smile is gone.
They sign. "When I got to the portal that took me to Savathun's Throne World, I encountered something impossible."
Crow snorts, "Guardian, knowing you, doer of things impossible, you probably crushed it and went on your merry way."
The Guardian flinched at the word 'crushed' and shook their head. "You don't understand, it was a Hive Lightbearer. A Hive Knight, with Light!"
Crow went slack jawed, "Hold on, I haven't heard about this yet-"
"They didn't want others to know until a lid was put on it, especially the Lightless Civilians. Crow... It had a Ghost!"
Crow's eyes went wide, grabbing the Guardian's shaky hands, which were brimming with explosive Dark Stasis. "Calm down, calm down. can you tell me what happened next at least?"
"It was an instinct. I couldn't control myself, I didn't want it to do that, reviving it I mean. So I grabbed it, not to kill it! But to stop it and I-"
The Guardian stopped signing and reached into their pocket, then pulled out a handful of white, bone-like fragments.
"Crushed it." They said, not with their hands, but their mouth.
If Crow wasn't freaked out yet, he was now. The Guardian went silent. Invisible tears falling down their face.
Crow wasn't much for affection, but seeing their friend and idol crying in front of him? He had to do something. So with a small maneuver he grabbed the Guardian into a hug.
"If it makes you feel any better," Crow whispered, "At least it was just the one time. You probably won't have to do it again."
The Guardian shuddered. Something tells them that something different will happen.
