“My goodness Y/n… are you alright?” concern filled his voice, his gaze not leaving your's as you entered through the glass doors of the coffee shop.

Slightly indifferent, you walked up to the counter and nodded your head. “Just tired.” you muttered, placing your order and deciding to wait by the door as he finished it.

Skeptical, he shook his head. He knew you too well for you to still be ‘playing these games’, but oh well, it was worth a shot, you thought.

“I don't think that's it-”

“I'll be sitting at that table over there. Call me when my order is ready please and thank you.” You were quick to interrupt, smiling back at the friend as he stared at you quite confused.

He had all the right to be concerned for your well being; how couldn't he be when you had walked into his owned coffee shop looking like an absolute train wreck. It was particularly odd for someone like yourself, someone who was always cautious about their appearance, normally being well put together with nice and elegant outfits. You always kept to your image as a business woman, even outside of work.

So for you to walk in with little to no care in your hair, little to no thought into your outfit was less to say, out of character.

He prepared the cup, sealing it with the familiar cap as he placed it in the pickup table.

“L/n Y/n!” He yelled, not all too loud because he knew where you were. In response to your name, you stood up and walked over, picking up your drink and taking a sip on your walk back to the table, feeling comfort at the familiar taste.

You felt comfortable in this setting, it always felt so safe and cozy in the local cafe. The silence of others as there was only occasional chit chat along with the calm and low volumed classical music. It was relaxing to say the least.

“Hey.”

Immediately turning your head and seeing Minho sitting on the chair across from you. You took a sip as you watched his friendly eyes travel back to yours, leaning on the table and looking at you with confidence in his gaze.

“Shouldn't you be working?” You questioned quietly, trying to find the drinking hole which had been on the cap of your drink.

“I'm the owner of this place… what are they gonna do, fire me?” he responded calmly, as if he was expecting your question and had already prepared a response beforehand.

You nodded; he was right after all, he was indeed the owner and the boss of every single person who worked here despite likely being younger than the majority of customers who walked in.

The mood became awkward and tense, he could sense that you weren't in the mood for talking and he was completely understanding of it.

“Would you mind at least telling me what's wrong? We did not build years of a connection for you to walk into my cafe one day all frowny and expect me to do nothing about it. You should at least give me an explanation.”

“It's really nothing-” you started before he cupped your face and stared directly at you, refusing to break eye contact. You shoved your face away from his touch, not feeling in the mood to be toyed with by anyone let alone a male.

He grinned and nodded, standing up from the chair and pushing it back in, you watched him as he slowly made his way back to the counter, patting your head in the process. “Alright then, want me to leave you alone? Then I'll leave you alone.”

You didn't want him to leave you alone, but of course you couldn't say that after the attitude you had shown him, which you really felt bad for. He was only trying to help and you responded to that rudely. Standing up, you walked to the counter and paid, deciding to leave it at that and walk out of the shop.

_______

You were sitting on your couch, cozily wrapped around blankets as you opened your bag of chips and poured yourself some hot tea. Boba sounded nice at the moment but you were not about to order some in the weather condition of the moment, it appeared as if it would rain soon and it was quite windy, dark too.

Turning on the TV, and skipping through the movie options before deciding to just watch a drama that you had stalled on 2 months prior.

You cuddled up in between all your blankets, getting into the mood of the drama as the two main protagonists (who you shipped) were currently in a fight; in a romantic manner if that was even possible, having been rudely interrupted by the sound of knocks coming from your front door.

Picking yourself up lazily from the couch; you groaned and made your way to the peephole, looking outside and finding none other than Minho standing in the hallway of the apartment complex.

Opening the door just enough to poke your head out, he stood in front of you with a smile, holding a bouquet of roses and a bag of snacks, a boba tea in the other hand. You hesitantly opened the door allowing him to come in and smell the fresh pasta that you had recently made.

“Smells good.” He muttered, watching you nod, shut the door, and walk over to the kitchen.

“I didn’t expect you, you could’ve made me aware so I baked some cookies.” You scolded. It had become a tradition since highschool to always make cookies for one another whenever one went to the other's house, just as a treat and signature of your friendship.

He shrugged, placing the bag down on the table and setting the roses inside of your vase.

“Not necessary every time.” he said teasingly, to which you shook your head and began to get out your cookie dough and pan.

He came up behind you, taking your hand and shaking his head.

“If you wanna make some then let's do it together.”

Flinching in surprise, you took your arm away from his grip. “I have a boyfriend and you know it.” you stated, immediately watching his expression change as you slapped a hand onto your mouth, it made a sound that he knew must’ve hurt.

“Still can’t get over him huh? I watched him go off with other girls and drag you back in with sweet words every time. Now that he’s finally gone and out of your life you happen to be unable to get over him?”

You shook your head, “I don’t think that’s-”

“He broke up with you because you’re friend’s with me... Did you ever watch him reject the advances of another person? He was unloyal and you knew it yet you refused to see it.”

The words stung into you like a needle, shutting your eyes as you let his phrase sink into you.

Noticing your expression, his eyes softened as he walked near you, smiling and pushing your hair behind your ear. Bringing your face up to look at him.

“Don’t live off of lies…” He whispered, pressing your lips against his as he brought you into a warm, wet kiss. You didn’t fight back, allowing him to spend as much time as he wanted, you enjoyed his touch and always had, ever since high school.

He backed away moments later, watching you smile once again with a slight tint of red on your cheeks.

“Why are you blushing? This isn’t our first-”

“Shut up.”

You interrupted, immediately turning back to the cookie box as you removed the cookie dough and began shaping them, finding your own bag of chocolate chips and adding them, pressuring him to do the same.

He watched and smiled in a soft manner.

You were his and you always knew it.
