I imagine that after Merventurine goes back to the ocean in the future, Ratio will find himself still making two servings of cooked, seasoned tuna for days. He'll convince himself it was for the best, and in the same train of thought turn his gaze towards the sea just in case. Hence, I named this piece Reluctant Farewell. Brrt don't know how to paint caustic effects on underwater skin yet. Thanks again to the man, the myth, the spoinky, @havanillas for providing us with brainrot good food for this AU.

If I had a nickle for every time a hoyoverse character who is a serious academic is shiped with a blond with mental issues, I would have two nickles, which isn't a lot but weird it happened twice.

Rambling and over analyzing about the 2.3 Aventurine and Ratio interactions/mentions and how I interpreted them..
Minor spoilers ahead!!
Okay so first of all although in the main story they didn’t face to face interact a ton (or at all I don’t think) they still definitely had their moments. Especially on Ratio’s part he’s so mad he has a crush on this guy😭 it’s so funny. First of all, he literally brings up Aventurine completely unprompted to TB MULTIPLE TIMES. Aventurine will not get off this man’s mind. He is so in denial about it.
Next, I wanna talk about how I interpreted the text message between them because what was that Ratio..?
Are you kidding me? Okay so basically what I think happened here is Ratio was going to write probably a lot more (as he usually does). I think the lack of punctuation kinda emphasizes that it wasn’t intentionally like a dry response “k.”. NO! I think this man was about to yap as he usual and then aventurine sent a message and he panicked and left. Granted, I mean they were on a time crunch but why would he leave the chat? 🤨 and leaving especially after Aventurine says anything..? Ok.
And finally this fucking scene because it’s funny. I feel like it’s pretty obvious that Argenti and Boothill are queer coded also. And I am choosing to believe ratio was 100% third wheeling here. But he’s trying to ignore/deny his very obvious crush on Aventurine and here these two are… I also think Argenti was yapping which also probably annoyed him. But Ratio being SO pressed about liking aventurine is so funny to me 😞
Also the obvious fact that Ratio literally dedicated a part of Simulated Universe to Aventurine. I rest my case.
