I think I'm bad at the internet

God, does anyone else just spend hours looking at terrible fanart and mary sue OCs and legitimately ask them self almost everytime, "Is this a sincere attempt at art/ character creation, or is this person being a troll?" Because, unless it's deliberately troll-y, I honestly cannot tell. Like, I know the internet is full of young people these days (damn kids...), but so much of this... "art" looks like it's done by elementary school students who shouldn't be allowed near the sites they're posting on... Is everyone online a troll and I'm just not edgey enough to get it?
