imagine willy wonka and his workers in one night having supper. and his dramatic ass would announce “one of you will betray me...” with the microphone. spoiler alert it's not only one of them
I wanna talk about how willy wonka is not an underrated character. he's a *very* well known character, you talk about candy fantasy land people will think about his chocolate factory. but it's just no one gives a damn about him. I mean, in a way no one/barely anyone actually has him as their favourite character or niche interest. no one/barely anyone talks about him and delves into his character. hell, people would even question you if you have him as your favourite fictional character.
the irony is, that's how he is even in his world. you mention chocolate, sweets, and confectioneries people will think of willy wonka. but barely anyone knows who he is or cares enough to know more about him. not even charlie who basically worships him knows about willy. neither do grandpa joe who seems to know a lot about the man but at the same time knows nothing at all.
I come to think willy wonka is meant to be known but not to be *known*. he's meant to be remembered but not to be *remembered*. born to be admired but not loved.
