Thanatos is my Dad, change my mind (u wont)

I've recently gotten back into my obsession over Rick Riordan shit, and the God that wrangled me back in is none other than the personified spirit of non-violent death himself, Thanatos. I literally spent so much time researching abt him instead of doing my science assignment (sorry Miss Coombe). Did you know that he and Apollo are closely tied together as they are both relievers of pain, Apollo in the medical sense, Thanatos in the sense that you cease to feel pain and hardships of life bc ur dead. Wherever Thanatos is, his twin brother, Hypnos the personification of Sleep, isn't far behind. My favourite myth of them together is where they're both carrying the mighty soldier Sarpedon back to his home so he can die in peace. Thanatos keeps him alive and Hypnos keeps him subdued and painless. The myth where he gets tricked by that dude I can't care to name is so overrated, it doesn't show his true personality and duty. He is the personification of non-violent death, his touch is just as gentle as his twin, Hypnos. I also just have a huge fascination of dead things, bones, paranormality, taxidermy etc. Another fun fact: In Roman myth, Thanatos (called is usually portrayed as a winged man holding a downturned torch signifying a life extinguished and with a wreath or a butterfly which symbolises the soul of the dead. His weapon is a ceremonial sword and NOT a scythe (that's the grim reaper which is a pretty violent version of death and REALLY overrated in my opinion, give me an old bearded man with wings who'll cradle you in his arms as he carries you to the underworld). I just love him so much and he is now my adopted father and I am in Cabin 23 now and if anyone says he's evil bc he "kills people" Imma throw them at a giant scorpion. I could rant for ages on how cool he is and how he is def my godly parent. Basically, I just love my dad he's so chill and awesome <3
