The Magic Shop & Pandora’s Box Theory [Fake Love Teaser 1]

BTS (방탄소년단) 'FAKE LOVE' Official Teaser 1 officially dropped. The Magic Shop is explicitly stated as “a psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude.” Psychodrama is often used in group therapy workshops in mental hospitals or other mental facilities to help patients gain insight into their own lives.

However, the “Magic Shop” is a coined term from the book Into the Magic Shop by Dr. Doty, which was quoted before as seen above for their performance at KBS Gayo Daeshukje 2017. In the book, Dr. Doty met Ruth, an owner of a magic shop and “a woman who taught him a series of exercises to ease his own suffering and manifest his greatest desires. Her final mandate was that he keep his heart open and teach these techniques to others. She gave him his first glimpse of the unique relationship between the brain and the heart.” Her techniques include relaxing the body, taming the mind, opening the heart, and clarifying your intent. More details of her techniques linked here.
In the teaser, the boys are exchanging items from the WINGS era, that symbolizes their fear, for items from Highlight Reels, that symbolizes a positive attitude. These items also references to the girls that helped them gain this positive attitude, just like Ruth did for Dr. Doty.
Jin is exchanging his earpiece for a ?
Jhope is exchanging his snickers for a cake
Namjoon is exchanging his glass shard for a hairband
Jimin is exchanging his forest photo for an umbrella
Suga is exchanging ? for a lollipop
V is exchanging ? for a backpack
(some of Jin’s, Suga’s, and V’s items were not shown).

Jungkook is the only one that did not exchange something for an item but instead got a key. This is because in the WINGS era and in the book Demian, Jungkook symbolizes Sinclair when he was an innocent boy naive to the evils of the world. He had no fear of the world because he was not exposed to it yet.

This teaser also references to the story of Pandora’s box. If you don’t know, the story of Pandora’s box is from Greek mythology that explains how evil was spread to the world. The Greeks believed that the world was once pure and innocent until Pandora, a curious girl, opened a box that was given by Zeus but she was instructed never to open it. When she did open it, evil things were released such as greed, envy, hatred, pain, disease, hunger, poverty, war, and death. She tried to close the box, but the only thing that was left in the box was hope. The myth conveys the message that hope is the only thing that humans can hold onto in an evil world.

In relation to the teaser, Jungkook’s key opens up to a room full of dirt, rubble, coat hangers and a hooded figure. The room and the figure symbolizes the world and its evils and the coat hangers symbolize the other boys, who have been exposed to evil. There are 6 coat hangers in total. Remember that the boys are all personas of one person at each stage of life according to WINGS and Demian. Jungkook is now exposed to the evil world and must surpass it, going through each persona, in order to find himself and mature. The coat hangers symbolize the personas of the Self because in Singularity, Taehyung uses it to dance with himself.
Just a reminder that BigHit officially declared that in Highlight Reels, the boys were acting not as themselves because they FEARED that they will not be loved for who they are. They gained fake love since the world, including themselves, did not like them for who they are, but for who they were acting to be. This time, the boys are exchanging their fears for a positive attitude in hopes to find real love, real love for their true selves. The book Into the Magic Shop teaches how you can change your life by first changing what’s within yourself, losing your fears of being judged and hated, and having a positive attitude to break free from your fake self to gain real love.
Here are my past theories of WINGS and LY: Her. Please read it so it would make more sense. THEY’RE ALL RELATED!
MY THEORIES ARE SO RIGHT THAT I FEEL LIKE I DIRECTED FAKE LOVE
WHOA! Fake Love was better than I imagined! The grunginess and the aggressive and powerful choreography with the angsty chorus is now what makes me feel alive!
AAAND MY THEORIES ARE RIGHT! JUNGKOOK WENT THROUGH EACH PERSONA! I WAS SHAKING WHEN I WAS SEEING THE PLOT UNFOLD BECAUSE IT FELT LIKE I NARRATED IT! I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT.

I will elaborate more after I get some sleep. You can scan over some of my theories to see what I predicted, particularly the theory about the Magic Shop/Fake Love Teaser 1 and my Holistic Theory.
Staying up all night for the queen to take over the world was worth it!
HYYH NOTES IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER: LY HER 承 & TEAR 轉

HERE are all the notes from LY: Her and LY: Tear! I color-coordinated them and put a summary of each one. They’re also arranged by member, by dates, and by album. I suggest getting familiar with the notes first. The story is really coming together! (*Note: if viewing from my blog page, you have to right click on the link and open it in another window or another tab).
Okay so this has been on my mind for a while. So you know in the Save Me webtoon Jin has to save his friends lives and if he fails he goes back in time and wakes up? It reminded me so much of the Mystey Spot episode of Supernatural down the line "How long will it take you to realise? You can't save your brother. No matter what."

Agust D 2 theory/story/whatever this is
Here is the MV if you haven’t seen it yet.
Okay so correct me if I’m wrong but the Agust D video story is basically this:
So there are two Yoongis here: one seems to be a kind of king while the other is... well, I’m not sure but he’s not a king and seems to be dressed really modernly, jackets and pants and the whole shebang. Both of them are pretty badass, I’d say.
And it looks like modern, less rich Yoongi is wandering through a village (maybe gathering up allies? Since we see him with a bunch of other people later) while king Yoongi (who am I kidding, Yoongi is always a fucking king no matter what he’s dressed as) is just hanging around being cool and wielding swords with his little minions around him.
Modern Yoongi drives up in a rusty-ass, dusty-ass train wreck of a car (bitch you’re boasting about your money I’m sure you can afford a better car so you don’t get tetanus or some shit) to King Yoongi’s palace and is promptly arrested by him and sent to get executed (man, King Yoongi is hella protective of his garage space, isn’t he? He’d probably be the ‘GET OFF MY LAWN’ type when he grows older).
King Yoongi is standing up in the balcony watching Modern Yoongi about to get executed by his henchman who has a giant sword, while Modern Yoongi is tied up and blindfolded (while looking fucking amazing). King Yoongi is flashing his own sword around. And then, henchman swings his sword and brings it down.
But he doesn’t kill Modern Yoongi. Instead, he cuts off the rope tying his hands together and gives a box with a fucking gun to Modern Yoongi, who takes it and walks up to King Yoongi (also what the fuck King Yoongi, you have zero security. 0/10 would not recommend). And then he shoots King Yoongi. Or at least in the general direction of King Yoongi.
Okay, theories: what does this mean? Is there a story? (I mean... duh, there is)
So this can be interpreted as a story about social classes with a whole ‘eat the rich’ sentiment. The poor destroy the rich. And by the poor, I don’t mean just Modern Yoongi: the king’s henchman also betrays the king, and Modern Yoongi gathers allies, who we see dancing with him around his busted tetanus machine. There are also those creepy people in black in front of the king’s palace headbanging (though I can’t blame them, the song is dope). I bet all these people are also ‘poorer’ and support Modern Yoongi. Which! Would also explain why the king has no security: everybody has turned against him. Good riddance.
Another theory: this MV represents tradition vs modernity. Well, maybe not tradition, but being stuck in the past. This is why Modern Yoongi and his allies are the only ones who appear to be dressed ‘normally’ in the whole video: the rest of the kingdom is stuck in tradition and old-fashioned-ness (is that a word?). Also note: King Yoongi’s weapon is a fucking sword. What’s Modern Yoongi’s weapon? A gun. A gun defeats a sword. Modernity defeats tradition.
So. Is this not a literal story? Maybe it’s a representation of the world around us now, or maybe even Agust D’s own mental turmoil and debate (or not even Agust D’s, maybe this is just a general trouble people face or something). That would also explain why they’re both Yoongi: because it’s a fight between two parts of himself. Or maybe BigHit is too broke to pay another actor, idk.
So that’s what I think happened in this MV. Maybe one of these theories is correct. Maybe it’s a mix of all of these. Maybe none of these is correct.
Whatever it is, we got a dope-ass MV out of this.
(also who else felt like the whole ~aesthetic~ of this MV was very similar to the one in ON??? Was it just me?)
(also note that we don’t even know what happened to the king. maybe he deflected the bullet with his sword like those weird-ass action movies do, or maybe modern yoongi missed his aim, or maybe they joined forces and conquered the world together, thus making this whole post null and void)
(also also wouldn’t it be so cool if this MV took place after or was somehow related to Agust D? I’m not sure how that would work- maybe Agust D busted out of where he was trapped in the Agust D MV to go kill the king in Agust D 2? At this point I’m just shooting ideas into the air)
Agust D-2 theory part 2
My original theory post is here.
So the Agust D Daechwita shooting sketch just released!
As I thought in my previous theory post, Agust D does collect allies as he walks through the village- specifically, we find out, the butcher. (I swear, I was just about to make a meme about Agust D and the butcher having such long eye contact but! question answered)
Something I thought Yoongi said was interesting: he talks about the ‘new’ Agust D walking up and shooting the tyrant king- who was the version of Agust D that was already king. Is this also meant to symbolize the release of Agust D-2, meaning that the original Agust D is no longer king? Basically, Agust D-2 taking over Agust D?
Maybe it does. That would also explain why the newest Agust D is dressed more modernly than the king: he’s more “recent.”
Of course that would mean Yoongi acknowledging his old Agust D mixtape was a tyrant (and it was, in the absolute best way)... or I’m just overthinking this.
Well... I don’t think so? Not yet anyway! Their contract expires in 2025-26, so they’ll probably stick with it. Plus, the extra content might be because of, well, quarantine and all their canceled concerts. They need to make up for it somehow, right? And we already know BTS even without quarantine is already a raging content-making machine!
We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal was... yeah, emotional to say the least. But I like to think that it’s just... a tribute to their fans. Looking back before they go even further.
On a positive note, the end of the ON MV feels like there’s more coming? With RM raising his fist as a leader and them running up the rock. And even at the end “No More Dream” turns into “Dream.” Full circle. But personally, I feel- full circle in the way that they still have further to go and more to accomplish after realizing that they can/have reached their dreams. Not full circle as in... the story’s over (at least I hope so). Like I said before, looking back before going further.
But... even supposing that BTS disbands, years (not even halfway) before their contract ends, and at the peak of their success... it has to be for a really, really, really good reason. So... as long as the members are happy... I will be too.
I AM NOT HAPPY. I AM NOT HAPPY. I AM NOT HAPPY.
okay so i thought it was weird that we were getting so much content from BTS but nobody else said anything about it so I was like “oh, it’s probably just quarantine”. like, i thought maybe they were gonna disband because well, LOOK AT THE FACTS:
- lots of content (not a fact but my opinion..)
- the album name is map of the soul 7 (SEVEN) and we’re getting another on july 15 called mot7: journey as if they’re gonna tell us about their journey??
- bulletproof: eternal. like we don’t get those a lot… ik we got bwl last album but still?
- we’re getting a couple of solos? like it’s not JUST solos but songs with two members like friends…
- THEY HAVE A SONG CALLED BLACK SWAN AND I JUST FOUND OUT A “SWAN SONG” IS THE LAST SONG A MUSICIAN PERFORMS BEFORE RETIRING
what’s ya’ll’s opinions? you think they gon leave us 😔✊?
