If you don't hear much from me the next couple of days, that's because I'm preparing some screenshots for spooky month!

Also, there is a severe lack of circus/carnival themed cc! I'm begging some of the talented cc creators to consider making some fitting objects, clothes and poses.

Of course now that my vacation is over, I feel that sudden urge to learn how to do renders in Blender. Couldn't that motivation kick in last week?

Almost finished setting up my second scene for my Halloween photo shoot! 🎪🎠 All that is left to do is to add some floorpainting and adjust the lightning of the candles.

Favorite: Strangerville. Not only am I a big fan of the Strangerville story, but I also really like the vibe of this world.

Least Favorite: Probably Evergreen Harbour or Willow Creek. Can't even name a specific reason. I'm just not a big fan of these two worlds.

As someone who switched from Sims 2 to Sims 3 to Sims 4, the thought of making that switch again, starting from zero, having to wait for all the features and DLCs to slowly be added over years and years of waiting, was reason enough for me to not be interested in a potential Sims 5. So whatever EA has in mind instead, I'm curious to learn more about it. I just hope they either build Sims 4 on a new engine and give the game a long overdue update, or they really step up their bug-fixing because the current state of the game is not made to handle even more DLCs upon DLCs.

The Sims 5 Isn't Happening

It's just been confirmed that The Sims 5 (as you would expect it at least) won't be happening. Instead, read other content you should expect

Did the DX11 batch fix and now my game doesn't load lmao. The EA app opens and acts as if there is an update I need to install but I already installed the most recent one. 🙃

Let's hope repairing the game fixes this problem.

Unrelated to sims but I've been listening to a lot of musicals the last couple of days while editing my Halloween screenshots and not only did I learn that the lyrics in most songs of the Dracula musical vary a lot in the English version (and that the German version has one more song, which is actually my favorite song) but I also learned that Tanz der Vampire and the US version Dance of the Vampire tell two different stories because for whatever reason they turned the story into a comedy?!

I spend the last couple of hours cc shopping for Halloween on Pinterest and decided to share my pinboard. I'll most likely keep adding cc to the pinboard all through out october.

I'm almost done editing my Halloween screenshots. I originally planned to turn them into a short story, but got rid of that idea rather quickly. I spend the last two weeks mostly in Photoshop and if someone asked me to edit just one more screenshot with a red/orange/violett colour gradient, I would pack my bags and leave lmao (There are actually 6 more screenshots I have to edit *cries in self-inflicted agony*)

At this point I can't wait to return to regular gameplay and just have fun playing my game! Heatwaves will most likely make its comeback next friday and I'm excited to dive back into the High School drama. (Fun fact: Autumn is around the corner in Heatwaves, which means even more Halloween fun! 🎃)

I'm usually not into Twitter drama but this is wild.

I totally get the person who doesn't want white sims in Sulani (makes sense because the over-tourism in Hawaii is a problem and also the reason why I'll never travel to Hawaii). But kicking out black sims from Henford and Windenburg and acting like black people are colonizing Europe?! If anything the reason black people move to Germany and England is due to their countries being colonized by the West in the past. 💀

Turns out you can't do group hangouts at the high school nor the auditorium. Bummer.

Looks like I have to build a gym and a café for my cheerleading team and chess team to train and hang out. I only wish Copperdale had a few more lots available. I'm running out of space already.

This may come as a surprise to some, as I've primarily used poses for my screenshots so far, but I actually spend most of my time in live-mode. There are times where I'm more inspired to hang around in CAS or Build/Buy, but usually I spend most of my time playing rather than building, decorating or dressing up my sims.

(Reason why I use poses for my screenshots is that I get to immersed while playing and often forget to take screenshots. So I have a second save where I recreate all the main events of my gameplay using poses to take proper screenshots)

I've been the type of player who deleted all existing families and replaced them with their own sims. So I don't remember most of the families from earlier games.

If I had to pick one sim to have a comeback in Sims 4, I would probably pick Nervous Subject. I always felt sorry for him, but he's one of the few sims whose backstory I remember even 20 years later. Come to think of it, I really miss the days where the Sims Team felt bold enough to include families with darker backstories.

I made some good progress editing new entries for my rotational gameplay story. So Heatwaves will make a comeback on monday. I'll reblog all older entries throughout the weekend as a little refresher. :D

Just me playing around in Photoshop. I tried a new editing tutorial but the tutorial itself was for ProCreate and on top of that my Photoshop is set to German so following the instructions was a bit of a challenge.

It was fun to play around with more layers than I usually do, but I'm not sure if I like how blurry the final edit looks?

First time I played prom in years (usually I use LittleMsSam's Calendar Tweaks mod to disable proms and exams) and I wish this event wouldn't be as short. I barely had time to do any of the tasks, let alone have my sims actually enjoy the evening. 😞

And let's not get me started on the fact that all the other sims were wearing their hot weather outfits.

Not me writing some dialog and switching from German to English in the middle of the sentence by accident. I'm just so used to Finn swearing in English haha. I didn't even notice my mistake until I hit a word I didn't know the English translation of.😆

In other news, I started working on a little side story. It won't be published any time soon, but motivation hit so I'm taking the chance to prepare some stuff.

My first spooky month/ Halloween post will be posted in about two hours. As a general warning:

the whole setting of my Halloween screenshots is about a visit at the Immernacht Circus, where the realm of reality and phantasma meet. (Block Immernacht Zirkus if you don't want to see any of my Halloween posts.)

none of my Halloween screenshots feature blood or full nudity. However, some of my screenshots might come across a bit seductive and spicy.

some of my screenshots feature yandere-type quotes (Please block tw:abusive relationship if you don't want to see these posts. The quotes are fairly harmless but I don't want people to get triggered by accident when this is ment to be fun!)

I feel like mindlessly playing in my main save once I'm back from my parents. I love them dearly but staying at their place is always a bit exhausting for my mental health.

I visited my sister yesterday and we did a crime dinner with some of her co-workers. I had to play a shady businessman (who was constantly flirting with one of the other suspects 😆). I'm not very good at acting (or rather, I get super nervous when around people I don't know well. I'd say my acting-skills are not to bad. It's the social anxiety that makes it difficult.), but I had lots of fun regardless!

I regret not taking a day off because it's dark and cold outside and I really don't want to leave my bed. Getting a paid day off on your birthday should be mandatory! 😆
