How long has it been since I've seen your face
Kissed you deeply and been drunk on the taste
How long has it been since your embrace
Wrapped tightly around, holding me in place
My life and my bed are empty without you
Can't breathe, can't sleep, can't dream without you
Without you, all hope is lost
So I scream, and I cry and pray you'll return no matter the cost

Orisha Loa
My Gods are old beyond ancient
Of winds, waves, mountains, and flames
Beyond stars and beyond distance
I can scarcely say their names
Some are sweet waters and honey
Others woods, horns, thickets and glades
There are those that are abundance and money
And those that are hammers, iron, and blades
I stand in awe of all they offer
Am humbled by all they know
Deeply comforted by their love
And enlightened by the visions they show.

War
In the dark that lingers before the dawn
There in all heroes and monsters spawn
Born of doubt or hope, virtue or sin
Their battles are waged deep within
A life addled restless mind
That dreams fitfully, restlessly in kind
The truest semblance of promised death
A dreamers sleep of peace bereft
To wake when one victor has the say
Guiding the thoughts an entire day
Till nights embrace beckons them in
For the fight to begin again

Hatred
Waking every morning is a labor of malice and hatred
Clawing my body back from sleeps peacefully semblance of death
I do not long for this world I do not desire it
There is no bounty or passion in its embrace
My mind and my soul are desperate for the finality of oblivion
Yet, every day, I wake not because of life or love but in spite of it
I will not accept the damnation of my end
Not until I have outlived the pallid, white faced ghosts of my past regrets
I can't accept my death until I have ushered every one of them to their's
