Jimmy died second! And this could hold so much symbolism that it’s ridiculous. Let me explain…
They decided to hold a mock funeral for Jimmy, going as far as burying him in the grave. Joel lets him out of the grave. Then the first death is Lizzie of all people. The symbolism right there practically wrote itself.
From Cleo’s pov I couldn’t tell which killed him. The Wither or the Warden. Either way you got more symbolism right there.
I mean you could compare the wither to coal dust. The warden is more on the nose, a creature can only be found/summoned deep underground.
To cut my silly ramblings short: with a miner’s help the canary survived the journey through the mines only to die later in the fresh air.

Today's episode: Limited Life, 3rd life, and Solidarity/Jimmy's canary curse :D So! To begin with, this will be using the... Head cannon? Fannon? I dunno, the thing where the Watchers pushed Jim off.
Anyways, so! Jimmy was pushed off the Skynet by the watchers. Why? Because they wanted the canary curse to continue. Standard boing stuff. Now! The stuff that has been rattling around in my head: we pushed Jimmy. I know, I know, sounds ridiculous, but hear me out-
As told in the Evo SMP, we the viewers are the watchers. We are the people who watch what they do. As such, we the views, the "watchers" are the ones that caused some of the curses to rear their head. Because we believed in the curses (The canary curse, the curse that Grian will lose his loved ones, etc etc.) we caused them to become true. As such, we are the ones to blame for Jimmy's death. We pushed him to make sure he would be the first to fall, making him the one to be forever trapped in different walls.
Since Jimmy beat the canary curse . . .
((--kinda-sorta. my opinion is that he's still the canary. that Lizzie was a miner who died because she went ahead of the canary and deeper into the mines. that Jimmy's death was still the precursor to more chaos, the warning that people took notice of. because almost everyone was oblivious to Lizzie's death (therefore, she did not act as a warning like a canary would), and so Jimmy still acted as the warning sign, if a late one. but I digress--))
. . . I decided to post some old art I had made of his canary wings. The markers bled through the paper and created a really cool no-lineart version of the sketch on the other side, which I think looks pretty neat :)

okay i am sorry i am posting so much about this au but also i have so many thoughts about them
Lizzie is the bearer of the canary curse, inspired by the fact she was first out in secret life. in this au, she's out first every single season, and it's become a running gag. Eloise knows she's gonna be gone pretty quick when they're soulbound, but she does her best to be tactical about it and prolong Lizzie's time. in 3rd life, she actually does die in the caves when mining because a red name snuck up behind her. since then, she's died in increasingly unlikely scenarios, culminating in her straight up falling into the void in secret life. all of her teammates make it their mission to keep her alive, but it never works out and she just admits defeat by the time she's red
Canary Curse Theory
In my head canon, the canary curse is starting to take a new form. Either Jimmy continues to die first and secret life was a glitch/fluke. Or Jimmy will be the one to mark the other players for death (killing them, interactions, etc.) that will still result in him dying early on.

I’m just on cleanups for most of the project but wanted to finish at least a small bit to see what the final was gonna look like for this scene

watchers watch with their eyes and listeners listen with their ears and Jimmy doesn't listen or watch, he sings, sings as loud as he can and hopes his friends hear his warning, and him as a listener is cool but what about him being something else, not a watcher or a listener but a third thing

I can’t get this idea out of my head about Jimmy.
We know how after the Watchers took Grian a popular headcanon was that he had parrot wings but the watchers changed them?
Well, what if the Listeners(or Watchers) did the same for Jimmy with the “Canary curse”?
It would make his bright yellow wings have an even bigger hit if only the Evolutionists knew he had different wings before the life series, an even bigger reminder.
What would his old wings have been? I was looking at Canary breeds and there’s a bird called the “Indigo bunting” and I think it works.
“But he’s still a canary?” You think, but in coal mines, from what I’ve researched, they used the yellow ones. (I don’t know what else to say-)
So imagine beautiful blue and black wings turning its opposite colour from a curse he had no control over. The colour of the people who turned his wings, (Listeners), and one day finally meeting up with his brother after years to discover the same thing happened to him.

Because Lizzie and jimmy are sibling in another series right? Empires? Idk I could be wrong since I didn’t watch those series but just imagine the watchers like

Updated for session 7: 4 new monopolies! this series really is predictable but I love it. I also changed the x's to stars.
Notes: Added 5am pearl although technically it was 6am, and Scar stole the enchanter early on I just didn't realize.
