Canto Vi Spoilers - Tumblr Posts
I find it interesting how Meursault is way more active in Canto VI than previous ones. I think it has something to do with the fact that Heathcliff's main "issue" (sorry I really don't know what to call it...) is about Cathy, Heathcliff's love.
I've never read The Outsider myself, but I've read the synopsis. Maybe Meursault got reminded of Marie, since book Meursault seems to care for Marie a little, even with his general apathy. Maybe he felt something akin to jealousy when he sees how strongly Heathcliff feels emotions. Maybe he felt a tinge of regret or sadness about leaving Marie. Who knows really. I'm waiting impatiently for his Canto.
As funny as the "The fault lies with you, Ahab!!" memes are, I gotta say that Cathy probably took Ishmael's place in the Pequod Captain Fishmael Mirror world.
There's not much backing for this theory, but I think it makes the most sense, mostly once you see the CG with Queecliff in Canto VI's ending and with the... [ahem] QueequegรIshmael implications and the fact that HeathcliffรCathy would be real if it weren't for their lack of communication. (< I would rant about these 2 but this is this and that's that.)
(I would put a "The fault lies with you, ___!" but I don't feel like thinking up a version of it that would make sense in this context, sorry.)

Clearing out Canto VI at the last few stages up until the very end is just- Wow, the amount of shock factor into this are just way too much.
Like, headache and panic-induced situations much, with slow realization and eventual big realizations after some disbelief seeps in dunked back to calmness by lots of water-
Gonna retry one stage in particular to really clear out EX Clears for the Canto to be finished tho, but maybe at later time
