For context: After the incident (the being electrocuted/“dying”/ coma situation) Capri had returned to school. As you two worked on the two week long assignment you got close.

Capri approached you at lunch “Hey Y/n, wanna come over to my place after I finish cheer practice? We could work on the project a little then like maybe watch a movie or something fun?” Capri asked, you looked up at her a little surprised “uh yeah sure” you said as nonchalant as you could muster. Later that day you two hung out, had some genuine fun, laughed together, and did a little bit of the project. Maybe Capri wasn’t as bad as you thought.

Though the project was finished and the due date passed, you and Capri kept in contact, texting, calling, and sometimes even hanging out after school. The closer you got with her the more you enjoyed her company and longed for her when she wasn’t around.

You hung around her more, your stomach felt fluttery, your face felt warm when she complimented you…definitely a crush BUT Capri would never feel the same, she’s a straight cheerleader girl who dates any boy she wants and gets attention all over school…the complete opposite of who you normally go for

“Y/n what’s wrong you’ve been quiet and like staring at me?” She said and you just broke spilling your guts out to her “I swore to myself that I would never ever catch feelings for someone like you, so I won’t get hurt. but here we are. And what’s worse is you don’t feel the same way about it, about me and I’m the one who’s going to embarrass myself once all of this is over!” You said tearing up a bit and getting up to leave “Y/n wait” she called out “no no I don’t wanna hear your pity for me” you said walking away with a scoff, she grabs your wrist “Y/n listen to me” you reluctantly look at her making eye contact “are you listening?” She asked, you turned away and stayed quiet “Y/n?” Looks back up at her “…yeah” you say calming down slightly “why do you think I don’t feel the same?” Capri asked kind of hesitant “because you’re straight?” You replied a little confused “oh yeah and what gave you that idea?” Capri said with a head tilt “I- well um you know…you’re in cheer, you’ve only dated dudes all of high school actually all of like forever, and like I’ve never heard you say anything like gay ever…” Capri laughs a little “well I see your point but I happen to be bisexual not straight” she says with a smile “wait really” you say genuinely surprised “yes y/n your ‘straight girl’ crush is actually bi” you’re at a loss for words “y/n?” She asks noticing your silence “ you’re bi…” you said quietly, she nods “and I like you back” she says with a wink “WHAT!” You shout, surprised then quickly covering your mouth, she laughs a little “I have a crush on you y/n, I thought that was obvious?” She says looking at your shocked appearance, you stare at her, “sooo?” She says hoping you say something “I um wow ok so you like me? Like for real?” You say trying to convince yourself “oh my gosh yes y/n I like you, is that really so hard to believe?” She says almost laughing a little “yes it’s hard to believe, you’re so pretty and smart and popular and I’m just-“ she cuts off your rambling “y/n you’re amazing and kind and beautiful, don’t even think about talking badly about yourself” she says holding your hand. You don’t respond but you look at her, words failing you, silence building until you mumble, “I really wanna kiss you right now” she blushes “I wanna kiss you too” she says with a smile, you both lean in slowly but she gets impatient and pulls you in faster kissing you softly yet passionately, you mutual pull away after a bit “wow that was amazing” you say blushing “yeah, you’re good at that” she says and her arms rap around the back of your neck. “Sooo…girlfriends?” She asks causing you to blush “yeah, yes! girlfriends” you say with a stupid lovesick smile, “bye y/n, I’ll call you when I get home, ‘kay?” She says not letting go yet “leaving so soon” you say with a small pout “sorry hun the student athlete life is very busy, I’ve got homework” “aw ok, can we call while you do homework?” You say hopeful “yeah duh” she gives you a quick kiss “bye” she says with a wink and a wave “b-bye Cap” you say watching her walk away

It’s about 2 weeks before the big homecoming dance, well it’s big to like not seniors and since it’s your junior year it’s a pretty big deal. Unfortunately you still didn’t have a date…or an outfit…but you had a ticket and a hope it would all work out. Watching everyone get asked out was honestly starting to make you a lot less excited until…

Capri approached you sitting on your lunch table which was pretty hidden since you didn’t like being out in the open much “Hey y/n got any plans for hoco?” Capri asked you as she slid to sit on the table, you two were talking but not necessarily dating and she wasn’t necessarily out yet so you two were taking it slow “um not really I was just planning on going alone, maybe hang out with a few friends” you replied with a shrug “hmm ok” capri says with a smirk “w-what about you? Going with the cheer team?” You ask “mmm maybe” she says with a smile and a shrug “oh um come to my house after school, ok?” She adds “oh um…ok, like right after or at 5 like usual?” You ask since she usual has her cheer friends over till 5 “mmm 5!” she says with a smile, seems like she’s hiding something but you didn’t want to read into it too much “I’ll be there” you said with a smile, she gave you a quick kiss then hoped down from the table “byee see you later, bug” giving you a hug “bye see you later, flower” she waved goodbye and headed back to the cheer table, you finished your lunch and headed to your class early since you had study hall as your last class and you got along with the teacher.

School day ended and you headed home. Showered and changed into some more comfortable clothes, not pajamas but something more comfortable than jeans and decided to eat something since you were a little hungry. It was about 4:45 now and Capri lived a little under 10 minutes away so you got your shoes and your keys and headed over, parking in your usual spot across the street from her house, you walked up and knocked on the door, no answer…

Someone tapped you on the shoulder startling you a little “oops did I scare you?” Capri asked with a smile, holding something behind her back “yeah uh yeah you did, Cap why are you outsi-“ she cut you off with a kiss then pulled away showing you her sign that read:

“I hate to BUG you but will you go to hoco with me?”

It had a flower with a little bug on it since she’s your flower and you’re her bug

“Aww Capri” you say tearing up “so bug, is that a yes?” She says with a smile “yes yes absolutely” you say giving her a big hug, Capri breaks away from the hug to grab her phone that she set up to record the whole interaction “Come on let’s go inside” Capri says holding your hand you nod as she leads you in

Capri plops on the couch and you do the same “so now we totally have to plan outfits” Capri says opening her laptop “oh um yeah totally, what color did you have in mind?” You asked “hmm probably purple, I feel like it would look really good on you” she says with a smile “I love purple on you Cap, that’s perfect”

You two talked out plans for the dance and plans for after so you were absolutely excited but one detail Capri forgot to bring up was the fact that she was going to tell every you’re her girlfriend at the dance.

It’s now the day of the dance and you’re getting ready at capri’s house “can I please do your make up? Just a little I promise” she asks from her vanity “ok ok fine, just not too much” you say giving in since it’s a special occasion “yay” she says as she walks over to drag you to her vanity chair, she starts doing your make up “you’re so pretty” she says looking at you with a smile causing you to blush “sooo we’re gonna go do pictures before we go to the dance, do you also want to get food?” Capri asks as she applies blush to your cheeks “oh um anything’s fine with me” you said not wanting to be a bother “ok so we’re getting food, I don’t want either of us getting a headache” Capri says kissing you to transfer some of her lipgloss on your lips “perfect, all done beautiful” capri says getting off your lap “thank you Capri” standing up and fixing your outfit a little “Y/n, Capri, your father is waiting for you in the car when you ladies are ready” Capri’s mom said from down stairs “mkay mom we’ll be down in a minute” Capri replied grabbing her purse and phone “ready to go bug?” “Yup all good”

The two of you headed down stairs Capri’s mom took a few pictures (her mom knew you two were together but didn’t want to say anything until Capri brings it up) “bye momma love you see you later” “you girls have fun, okay?” “We will” “thank you Mrs. Donahue have a good evening” “oh please y/n no need to be so formal” she replies with a small laugh, the two of you head out to the car “hey ladies ready for the dance?” Capri’s dad asks “mhm, can we go get food? Capri asks “yeah of course, how about that place you like the one by the venue for the dance?” “Ooo yes y/n also loves that place, right bug” you nod fidgeting with a small fidget Capri got that matches your outfit which you really appreciate

Her dad drove you two to get food, ordering your favorite, Capri’s dad being kind enough to pay for it, you offered to pay for yourself but he insisted

Eating in the car together, Capri wipes the little bit of food off your cheek causing you to blush “th-thank you” you say with a bit of a smile

You guys head to the dance, Capri reminds you that if you need to take breaks to just let her know

You two have a fun time, dancing, talking to friends, then a slow dance comes on “dance with me” she says “but what about-“ “I don’t care, I don’t wanna hide you anymore” she says pulling you closer, you two dance together, eye contact, tension, “can I kiss you?” Capri asks, you nod and she leans in and kisses you, some people notice a few even taking pictures but you don’t care, you have Capri and that’s what matters

The dance ends and you two head back to Capri’s house “bug, can I post you on my insta and put girlfriend in the caption? Is that ok?” “Yeah of course” you say your face lighting up “im so happy to finally tell people, I don’t know why I was so scared before” “it’s ok, I’m happy you’re doing it too and I’m especially happy you did it when you were ready” “can you stay over or do you need to go home?” “I can stay, my mom wasn’t expecting me home tonight” “yay ok movie night?” Capri asks “ooo yes, tangled?” You ask, Capri nods as you two enter the kitchen to grab snacks

Capri and you change into some comfortable clothes and snuggle up in her bed with snacks and drinks as she puts on Tangled

“I love you, y/n” Capri whispers as she kisses your forehead “I love you more Capri” you say looking up at her she smiles and you two watch a few movies before eventually falling asleep
