Ebg finally ended for me meaning I can post this :D. I hope you're OK with a fic format since it eas left unspecified- one serving of carbonated crack and full moon foam at your table!

You three were as thick as thieves, at least that's what the student body portrays the infamous prefect and Adeuce duo as. Whenever there's trouble with one it'd become a trouble for all. That's how it's always been ever since the mine incident, but now that you're here confronting Ace alongside Deuce it… was begging you to wonder whether they were good influences on you. 

It was a relatively peaceful Sunday night, nothing eventful plagued your weekend which for a prefect- it was a blessing that needs to happen more often. Your other two friends managed to rope you in for a sleepover at Heartslabyul which at first you were reluctant to accept considering riddle's strict code but after a bit of convincing from Trey you three managed to have one night of just yourselves without outside intervention-

Except, Ace wasn't satisfied with your humble get together. 

To be specific he felt robbed with your painfully quaint sleepover having to still follow the rules of the Queen of Hearts along with a stern order from Riddle that he'd let you three lodge on the condition that it's bed time by 10pm. Deuce didn't seem to mind it considering that's his usual (attempted) hour but Ace was having none of it hence bringing us to the present moment. Where the ginger haired first year had a leg out on the distorted window's rim while you and Deuce were whisper yelling at him for an answer as to why exactly you three are locking the room's door and going out the window.

“You’re really out to get us in trouble?!-”

“Oh c’mon I doubt you’re fine with the one game we did besides- I already hid snacks on the roof so-”

“You what!-”

Your surprise was met with Ace’s exasperated sigh before tugging his other leg out the window, holding onto the top ledge with calloused hands before looking down at you two with an expectant brow. 

“You guys in or not?”

"Falling to my death doesn't sound nice"

"Oh- keep moving dammit!"

"Shh you'll alert someone so stop being so loud!"

"Both of you shush-"

"SHHH!"

The night breeze passed the scene, sending a chill down Ace's spine but it didn't convince him to back out now, no, not when you three were just one story away from the tiled roof of the dorm. Deuce was understandably hesitant but he seemed to have no trouble whatsoever in maneuvering his body when he grabbed onto the next ledge and distorted windows. Ragged breaths left your figure but you still held on, ever so slowly taking a small step upward with Ace leading your trio onwards.

Now don't get me wrong he's the troublemaker but he did have your best interests in mind. Otherwise he wouldn't be so determined to risk your three sneaking to the dorm's rooftop where he's been secretly stashing his food, most likely an exaggerated tip from his older brother but hey if it does the job then so be it. Deuce stopped when Ace halted, choosing to hoist himself up with his arms before turning to help you two as well. The wind began picking up its pace but not quite enough to knock any of you down. 

Heartslabyul's dorm looked big and even bigger once you enter its halls, so your view on the rooftop was quite the spectacle as it gave you an unforgettable view of the gardens below that line the pathway from the dorm to the mirror's location. The bird's eye view rendered both you and Deuce speechless for a moment, only Snapping out when you felt something small but soft hit the back of your head. Snapping your gazes to Ace he only gave a dry chuckle before pointing at the cookie packet you failed to catch.

"Glad ya guys agreed huh?"

Deuce's scowl remained, telling off the ginger about throwing food and how it could've fell off the roof or worse expose their secret. This in turn was dismissed with a wave and an eye roll.

"Please I've kept it quiet for months I doubt one night can change that juice face"

"Still!- you could've just passed it to us normally you jerk"

"He has a point Ace I mean how could you carelessly throw perfectly good food."

Ace's scoff was clearly heard see as you three were alone in an open space, far from the confinement of any quarters or classroom. He ripped open a snack for himself before gesturing for you and Deuce to sit.

"Mind you I bought all this with my own cash so thank me for the midnight snack dammit- OI-"

Yeah he deserved that head jab, you only gave a thumbs up to Deuce before taking your own seat, cross legged and shifting a bit before finally settling on a comfortable position. 

"It's so quiet, didn't know the dorm could be like this."

"Come to Ramshackle its always like this and worse"

"Don't, tried it once and I don't recommend"

"I made you sleep on the couch once"

"And I got an earful from the Dorm leader about your whereabouts that time 💢"

Being ganged up for the umpteenth time that night Ace pouted and harshly bit on his bread. Leaning back his weight on one of his propped arms.

"You two hold a grudge better than Dorm Leader then, besides that was like what-.months ago?"

"Half a year...and counting."

"Whoah…"

Eyes turned  back to Deuce who was already crumbling his finished granola bar wrapper, raising his knees close to his chest so that his chin can rest on top. Turquoise eyes glossed over the distance as if melancholic for a moment before snorting to himself, inducing a confused look from both you and Ace.

"It's already been that long, and here I am still feeling like I freshly graduated middle school…"

"It does huh… I mean, we already passed midterms, I heard around somewhere that something big is gonna happen at school soon."

"Yeah! I think the track and field captain mentioned lending a hand for something- Hey prefect you've been awfully quiet, you feel sick or..?"

A shrug was given, your gaze lingered a bit too long on the mirror in the distance, reminding you of the mirror that told you your otherworldly predicament. 

"Just, sappy- I doubt you two would wanna hear it but...I appreciate being part of...this" 

Your statement trailed into a dry chuckle as you gestured to you three, as lighthearted as you three usually were, you meant what you said and you wouldn't have it any other way. 

"Yeah you're right that's too sappy even for you-"

"And you think you wouldn't be part of 'this'? You're the one who made it y'know"

Ace huffed at the interruption before looking to the side himself. 

"What Deuce said… I can bet to great seven that this, is something nice to have. They say high school is the best years of your lives and I wanna commit to that- and I'd be damned if I didn't."

"Wow Ace didn't peg you to be so inspirational-"

"Will. You. Let. Me. Have. This-"

"Pfft- I think, I'd like that to though…"

Both boys turned to your close eyed smile, head leaning back ever so slightly before sharing a look among themselves.

"I don't know if I would've gotten 'this' at home...I wanna try everything- know what it's like but not too much-"

"Yeah yeah getting in trouble is a no for you both I get it goody two shoes advocates."

"Well- of course I mean I gotta stay clean if I want to be recommended into the forces but, we're at the Climax of our teen years.."

"Oh great seven Deuce? This behavior?"

"—all I'm saying is- when would we have the chance to try everything before we have to grow up…"

Ace shook and pulled open three soda cans, not saying a word when he passed two to his friends. Deuce had a point…

"Well, that settles it, I don't know what you two are getting all worked up for."

"Seriously though-"

"Seriously why? I mean we're here aren't we? Tell me how many people actually manage to get the best of both worlds."

Your expression blanked out for a second. Taking a big sip out of your beverage before sighing and wiping the excess off your lips with the sleeve of your sweatshirt.

"We have troublemaker, reforming ruffian and...an otherworldly prefect in charge of keeping things in line."

"Oi who are you calling trouble maker-" 

"When you put it like that...maybe we can make this work."

The unclouded sky stretched a canvas of stars each bestowing a fragment of light onto the scene happening below. The maroon tiled roof became tinted with silver, Ace's view of the scene was something he'd carry on in the future, to Deuce it was a part of his journey into tomorrow's dwellings, and to you it was a learning experience.

"Then I raise a toast, to us three"

The red eyed male gave a huh expression to which Deuce changed when he raised his can of half full soda. Ace eventually gave in after being pressed by both of your gazes not exactly the type to leave his two buddies hanging.

"To Juice Face, Tart Thief and Misplaced Prefect."

Requested by an IRL friend. Be honest how many of us can actually say the word?/lh Tag a fellow FiloTwster?

Rating the Dormleaders on how they say the word Nakakapagpabagabag with FiloMc:

An admirer of the Queen Of Hearts, tamer of all things mad and crazy, surely someone who can easily memorize 810 rules can pronounce such a word-

"Nakapagabagka- no na..pa.. actually can you repeat that?"

It's not that he finds it difficult, it's more of him not being able to hear the individual syllables when FiloMc said it the first time.

That and the hard accent isn't something he's as used to as the usual lofty English accent he may have had.

Riddle Rosehearts: 6.5/10

The Savanaclaw dorm leader could've had the advantage since afterglow dictation (is I assume) similarly hard like tagalog. That and his hearing is sharp enough to pick up even the quietest of letters when you first said the word.

"Na...ka..kapag..pabagag, no I'm not trying it again-"

Too lazy to even care, not like it affected his pride knowing how he's probably one of the better attempts after seeing you run around places challenging everyone.

Leona might even question if that's a legitimate word in FiloMc's dialect, to which they'd of course prove by using him as an example-

Leona Kingscholar: 8/10

Unlike Riddle, he can adjust his own accent to fit the word's blunt pronunciation. The Sea Witch's orally casted spells were perfect and unhindered so he wasn't about to fall behind his idol-

"Nak..akakaka pagabag. Tsk you said it too fast-"

He's confused but he has the spirit, likely one of the few who doesn't give up until they can say the word perfectly in their sleep.

It took a good hour but he finally perfected the order of the syllables eventually.

Azul Ashengrotto: 7.5/10

Kalim is pretty enthusiastic doing the challenge, perhaps he has a better shot considering the many foreign products he receives as the son of a merchant so otherworldly dialect similarly toned as his own would be easy-

"Nakakapagpabagabag! Was that right? Did I do it good? AHAHAHA I like that word now!"

The fact that he got it on his first try to, when Filo MC asked how he did it he said he just trusted his own gut feeling.

Whatever this meant, they never bothered finding out. Ever since asking him they keep saying the word to themselves oddly amused by how it rolls off his tongue.

Kalim Al Asim: 10/10

A star borne actor of his caliber has of course already encountered many difficult words from his roster of past roles. That and paired with his personal readings through countless textbooks at NRC how he fairs well..

"Nakaka...pagpababagab.? Ara, I'd prefer a written guide thank you."

If you do write out the word for him he'd be able to perfectly pronounce no sweat but since you have to be fair with your other challengers you only counted his first attempt.

He understands and even asks if other words in Filo MC's native tongue were just as blunt and compresses as that. Depends on the time of day honestly-

Vil Schoenheit: 8.5/10

He doesn't, exactly get the word on first hearing. In fact he even questioned whether you're messing with him with gibberish or not.

"That's even worse than ancient scriptures... ahhhh fine fine- Naga bakabag...? See what'd I tell you-"

Unlike Vil or Azul he doesn't even wanna bother learning the word, grimacing at the needlessly difficult lexicon composition but he did manage to get one thing out.

Which was just, to improve ortho's auditory processor but that's it-

Idia Shroud: 5/10

Malleus has likely lived long enough to witness the rise and fall of empires and kingdoms and within this time were many languages. Tell him once and then-

"Naka..kapag..pabagabag. is that it? An intriguing word indeed..."

He may have not been as confident as Kalim but he definitely nailed the request, when asked if he understood it he'd only smile and chuckle.

It was child's play, the only reason he lulled his delivery was because he wasn't entirely sure what the word meant and he'd rather not accidentally start something should the word have been more cynical than it was.
