Cedric The Sorcerer - Tumblr Posts
Alright, I've been thinking about this scene because it gives me a confusing and funny feeling.
I don't have much to say, I just find it amusing how Roland makes that gesture and Cedric comes running like an abandoned puppy.
I don't know, it's just... Wtf Roland hahaha.

At the same time, I also feel like it's soooo degrading. I don't know, maybe it's just my impression.
Thoughts?
New name for Cedric and Sofia's friendship
Hello to all Sofia the First fans and fans of Cedric and Sofia's friendship. As many of you may know, with the upcoming anti-C*dfia week organized by @anticedfiaweek , some discussions have started about whether we should come up with a new name to refer to Sofia and Cedric's friendship to avoid:
1. The association with C*dfia.
2. Confusion with tags.
Like @sweetmariihs2 said (here) better.
I know some names are already being discussed in other posts, but it would be nice if we could really organize ourselves and brainstorm to find that new name.
After discussing it with @majoresca, we concluded that it should be something meaningful, interesting and that represents both characters, as well as something short, so it can be easily used in tags.
This post is dedicated to starting a thread with suggestions for the new name so that we can choose one as a fandom later on. Feel free to reblog this post with your idea.
Than you!
Sofia the First Alternate Universe
Hi everyone! A few days ago I was thinking about an AU where the dynamics of Sofia and Cedric's friendship changes a bit. I have finally decided to share it, what better time than this week that celebrates their friendship.
Royal Pariahs
"Bad" Sofia and "Good" Cedric
In this alternate universe, when Sofia arrives at the palace, she starts having behavioral issues due to her inability to fit into royal life and the constant rejection from Amber and other royals. In contrast, Cedric, although still the same grumpy character with a past marked by the incident and lifelong bullying, has found a way to cope in this universe. As a result, he has given up on the idea of taking over the kingdom.
Since Cedric doesn’t attempt to steal the amulet, the events of "Once Upon a Princess" don't unfold as they should. Because no one at the party freezes, Sofia never connects with Amber, who continues to torment her, resentful that the castle staff seems to prefer Sofia.
This rejection fuels Sofia's resentment towards her new family; she refuses to call Amber "sister" and rejects referring to Roland as "dad." The only member of the royal family with whom she has a decent relationship is James, who has tried to support her in adapting to Royal Prep.
Despite everything, Sofia remains a sweet and kind person to everyone who isn’t royalty—a group she has come to despise due to the endless rules and expectations they imposed on her.
The Amulet of Avalor hasn’t been able to help her in this universe because, as a result of her bad behavior, it frequently punished her and eventually, she decided to take it off. After all, Sofia sees no problem in breaking the promise she made to King Roland, who has done little to stop Amber's teasing.
After all the teasing she has received since arriving, Sofia refuses to adhere to the protocols and rules as a form of rebellion to show her discontent. She refuses to wear her tiara or any other kind of jewelry, deliberately messes up her hair, and doesn’t care about maintaining her dress. She believes this is a way to annoy King Roland and Amber, breaking with the perfection that she believes is expected of her.
The friendship of Sofia and Cedric
Sofia is still interested in magic, which leads her to meet Cedric and become his apprentice, as in the original storyline. However, this Sofia soon realizes how King Roland and others treat Cedric. Since she is also rejected by the Royals, she identifies with him.
Cedric, on the other hand, sees part of his own story reflected in the young princess, leading him to care for her and try to advise her so she doesn’t end up like him.
Their friendship works somewhat in reverse.

1. Sofia tries to steer Cedric toward villainy:
After a year in the palace with no improvement in her situation, Sofia is determined to ruin the King and Amber. After learning a bit about Cedric’s past through Baileywick, she comes up with the idea that they could both seek revenge.
Sofia wants revenge for how Amber and other Royals have treated her because of her commoner origins and believes Cedric should do the same for the years of mockery and humiliation he has endured.
However, Cedric isn’t interested, having left villainy behind after a failed attempt in his youth. Though Sofia constantly tempts him with childish ideas to annoy the King, Cedric realizes this wouldn’t get them anywhere, especially Sofia.
2. Cedric tries to help Sofia with her family situation:
Cedric enjoys helping Sofia annoy Amber and other princesses at Royal Prep with spells and poorly enchanted objects, thinking it helps her cope with her tough life. However, one night he overhears a conversation between Queen Miranda and Sofia he realizes that these "revenge" schemes are only hurting Sofia more than anyone else.
Cedric reflects on where this path is leading her, imagining a future where Sofia is rejected and excluded like him. Determined to prevent that outcome, Cedric starts helping Sofia adapt to palace life as best he can.
With Baileywick’s help, Cedric teaches Sofia some of the etiquette she had previously refused to learn, while Sofia helps him overcome his fear of performing spells in front of others. This process is healing for both of them; they support each other in improving their relationships with others in the palace.
Together, they face setbacks and celebrate small victories, working side by side to change their lives. Essentially, they both try to improve their lives together.
And that's basically it. I just wanted an excuse for Sofia to act a little more like a mischievous child and Cedric as a concerned adult. Although Cedric joins in on her antics sometimes.
In the same way, I have written a little fic where Cedric teaches the Sofia of this universe to dance:
That's all! Have a nice AntiC*dfia week everyone!
A very strange dream I had about Cedlock
(yes, just as you read)
This, as always, is a rambling of mine telling the dream I had of a very strange fic I dreamed I wrote. If you're not interested in Cedlock, you probably won't be interested in this, so keep scrolling. Thanks!
So lately, I've been working as much as I can on some WIPs I had pending (though I keep creating new ones instead of finishing the old ones, lol), and I've been especially focused on finishing my Cedlock fic that I mentioned the other day.
I think maybe I've been thinking about it too much because yesterday, somehow, I dreamed about it.
But it was a really strange dream, to be honest. I wasn't writing my Cedlock fic where Greylock tries to ask Cedric out, but rather something weird that I found amusing.
Did I just get a fic idea revealed to me in a dream?
In my dream, I was editing a WIP I had in my folder that was about Cedric being engaged to King Magnus. Stay with me, I know how it sounds, lol.
Yes, it was pretty strange. According to what I was reading in my Word document, King Roland had arranged Cedric's engagement to Magnus as part of some treaty or agreement (my dream didn’t make much sense, and the words looked weird).
Something happened in the middle that I don’t remember reading, and then there was a part about how Cedric was (Obliged) moving to Rudistan’s castle, where he met Greylock, who was more than angry about the situation.
I mean, I think he was angry because Cedric had married Magnus and not him, ahahaha.
Anyway, then something else happened that I don’t remember, but it was something like Magnus mocking Greylock and basically rubbing the marriage in his face.
And then, well, I wish I could remember how it ended. But I do remember that in my dream, I was like: This is the best thing I've ever written.
And then I woke up and just laughed at that idea.
Dreams are weird.
The ruby tiara
Hello! I made a very short fic about a headcanon I have where Sofia, after the end of the series, frequently wears the tiara Cedric gave her.
Although I'm technically not following the theme of AntiCedfia Week, it was written with their friendship in mind.

Anti-Cedfia Week Day 3: Dancing

I've always liked the idea of Cedric occasionally dancing with Sofia in his workshop, using his magic to play musical instruments.
So, do you remember that dream I had about Cedric marrying Magnus? @mushroomsie224 said it was material for a crackfic, so here I am.
Instead of writing the fanfiction I promised (I’m still working on it), I ended up writing this other short story.
I hope it entertains you, I definitely had fun tormenting Greylock. He’s lucky I decided not to be too cruel.
A while ago, I mentioned that I have a bit of a crack headcanon that Greylock would sing heartbreak songs. For some reason, now every time I hear those kinds of songs, I think of that.
And here I am.
But of course, I grew up listening to these classics of my culture and I can only think about it, so that's why the song. All of you are going to appreciate Amanda Miguel and you'll like her 🫵🏼
This comes not only from that headcanon but also from something I wrote (here).
I drew all of this during class and it's funny to think that I don't have any notes because of this but it's worth it, lol.
It's amazing what a silly dream can do, anyway, I'm just happy you enjoyed and had fun reading it
This is definitely making me think more about those two lol

Wait. Does anyone have a hc where Cedric was a bully? I don't even think he had the self-esteem to actively harass others.
But this is very interesting to think about!
I think @cedricthegreatlybeloved it's right about that. I do believe Cedric was rude-mean, but only because people were mean to him first.
I imagine Cedric was an unpleasant teenager who tried not to talk to anyone. Maybe the type who thought he was too smart to speak to his "savage classmates." But not the type to directly bother others. More like the type who made sarcastic comments to certain people (like Greylock, when Cedric calls him a jester).
I can perhaps imagine him plotting revenge with others and, as mentions, casting small curses-jinx on others in secret.
This behavior is actually similar to how he acts as an adult. He plans ways to take over the kingdom and mess with things in the castle. He thinks about taking revenge on his bullies (Roland), but when faced with them, his attitude is submissive.
I suppose it also depends on the person's rank, since Roland is the King. And with Greylock, on the other hand, he seems a bit more defiant.
For example, there's also the way he bothers the children in the castle (Amber, Sofia, James, etc.) Cedric needs a certain sense of security, feeling that he's above someone, to have the courage to bother them. And that quickly fades when he's confronted (like those times when Amber threatens Cedric by saying she'll bring Roland).
I don't think he could have actively been a bully to others.
On the other hand, I do like to think that Cedric was labeled as a problem child, but not necessarily because he was looking to get into trouble.
I believe his clumsy nature and the stigma surrounding him led to a similar situation as in the castle, where whenever something bad happened, they blamed Cedric. In a way, making him responsible for several 'incidents' at school that really weren't his fault.
From what we see in the series, I also think he wasn't good at several subjects and failed frequently. So,
Bad grades + Disasters = Problem child
At least, that was how others saw him.
I refuse to think of Cedric as a bully or problem child. He was much too intelligent for that. Maybe he did some mean things to others, but only because they were mean to him first. Teenage boys get into plenty of mischief.
So, I saw this post (adorable drawing) and remembered that I had this draft that I never finished. I think it gives an idea of what I wanted to do. I absolutely know that Roland would be sooo sick of both of them.
Inconvenient meetings
(based on "Not even in my worst nightmares")
No one enjoyed dealing with the King of Rudistan, but it was a necessary evil to keep the trade routes crossing his territory open, as well as to secure his valuable contribution to metal imports.
Roland had never been keen on meetings with Magnus, which, unfortunately, were becoming more frequent and tedious due to the reforms imposed on several treaties. Putting up with Magnus was relatively easy; Roland had trained for years to smile and nod at whatever the king said, which always seemed enough to keep him satisfied.
The King of Rudistan wasn’t dangerous, beyond his endless boasting, which while irritating, didn’t pose a major problem for their trade relationship. His husband on the other hand, was a constant irritant that was wearing down Roland’s patience.
He was much shrewder than Magnus, if that was any achievement, and didn’t hesitate to push and demand in negotiations that had never interested him before.
No one at the castle knew how or when something had happened between the king and the sorcerer. All Roland knew was that one day Cedric was in his office resigning with the biggest smile he’d ever seen, and the next, he was moving to Rudistan. It didn’t take long for Roland to understand why.
Cedric had become the second King of Rudistan and Magnus’s greatest obsession. A whirlwind wedding quickly elevated him among the nobility, and he soon became a regular attendee at meetings with other kingdoms alongside his new husband. No one had expected such a turn of events, and the news had certainly shaken most of the political sphere surrounding Rudistan.
The mere idea of the two of them getting married was hard for Roland to grasp, especially because, despite the obvious power Cedric now enjoyed with his new status, it was clear their relationship was based on love, not just cold self-interest.
The way they looked at and spoke to each other showed a mutual affection and understanding that Roland had thought impossible for either of them, especially Magnus. Roland had always believed that the king cared for no one but himself, but Magnus had proved him, and everyone else, completely wrong.
Magnus treated Cedric as if he were the most precious thing to ever walk the earth—and maybe for him he was, judging by the love and pride with which he spoke of him. When it came to his husband, Magnus spared no expense. Not that Magnus was the frugal type to begin with, but with Cedric, his lack of restraint seemed to vanish entirely.
The sorcerer didn’t lag behind either. His connection with the king was unique, and in their own peculiar way, they were a truly endearing couple. Still, despite all the love they radiated, Roland had had enough of both of them.
Someone save Roland from such a terrible nightmare!

got access to my main computer today and found cedlock i made in may lol
and THIS

purpl greylock! hes looking at the medusa stone
i need to redraw these bc i still kinda still like them???
Hi everyone! Especially to the Cedlock shippers. I finally finished the silly thing I was writing, and I want to share it with you all.
It was going to be more angsty, but honestly, things took a different turn, and it ended up like this. So, yeah, I hope you like it!
Oh, and Cordelia makes a mini appearance just because I adore her.
Good evening, everyone! I'm here cause I just remembered that I can literally draw anything I want.
And my brain said: Greylock fantasizing-dreaming about Cedric.
A few Cedlock drawings (Warning for suggestive content)

Greylock looks distressed because I wanted something along the lines of him fantasizing about something out of his reach, and all that.

Here complete
I like tormenting the poor man with dreams that trouble him, though perhaps these are in a better sense than others I've put him through
You all, imagine young Cedric singing "Waiting on a miracle" of Encanto. Yes, that's all, thank you very much for your attention.
ALL OF YOU
Imagine Cedric singing to Roland "I'm just your problem" from Adventure Time
Why did you start watching STF again? Because I have this weird theory that most of us watched some of Cedric's edits and ended up here.
Discussion, I think
Do you think Cedric cries easily? I've been thinking about this lately.
Because we've seen Cedric be dramatic throughout the series, and he's certainly emotional, but we haven't seen him cry. (Which I understand, and it's a good thing because honestly, I wouldn’t have liked seeing him cry.)

But I wonder. My personal idea and headcanon is that he does cry, but only when he's alone. I feel like he would be the type who doesn't let anyone else see him cry.
And somehow I also came to think that if that is the case, it was probably because since he was a child he did not want to let other children see they made him cry with what they did to him.

What do you think?
I'm happy because yesterday they finally delivered the keychain and button that I ordered 🙏🏼
