its been so long! how is everyone doing!

Al and Trina are walking away from the camera. Al has his back to us, his hands flung into the air in frustration. Trina is giving the audience a sheepish smile. Al says, We're doing fine! Everything is just fine! Trina says, We're hanging in there.

Only two hands are visible: the mailman's and Stanley's. Stan is receiving a letter. Stan says, So we just...talk? The mailman says, Yep! And I don't even have to be around to answer. Stan says, Oh, okay. Uh...

Steve and Stanley are sitting on the bed. Stan has a hand on his head, looking uncertain. Steve is trying to smile, and succeeding. Steve says, I'm doing good! Thanks for asking! Stan says, I...think I'm doing all right.

Only the top halves of Stan and Steve's faces are shown. Stan looks at a whining Steve. Steve says, I'm really hungry though...

Is it okay if I ask how Stan got his white eye?

An ask reads: Jesus, dude! Did you see what happened?? How are you guys? Do you need provisions? Anyons injured?? (GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK BUDDY)

Stan looks surprised and says, in reference to the first ask: I'll be honest, I didn't know I had one until now? Steve holds up a finger and says: I did!! I was there! It went something like... Below them is a thought bubble containing Steve's recounting of events, showing Stan defending Steve and a Villager from Herobrine. Stan, in the memory, says: STOP! You'll come no further!

The next panel has a comical fight cloud at the top made by Stan and Herobrine. SFX: BIF! BAF! BONK! Below that, Stan falls to the ground, unconscious. Some labels say: Suddenly has white eye! Or black eye? Steve, coming out of his thoughts, says: Yeah...that guy got you real good.

Steve pokes Stan in a spot below the white eye. Steve says: Are you okay now? Stan, perking up, says: Huh? A dark gash cuts through the center of the panel, showing the events as they actually happened. It shows how Herobrine corrupted a part of Stan. The Villager that Steve mentioned stands in front of Steve and Stan, shouting: Take him and run! Coming out of those thoughts, Stan replies to Steve: Yeah, I'm...yeah.

Stan says: We're gonna need something to eat for, uh... Steve point to himself and fills in with: Steve! Stan repeats: Steve. Stan puts a hand on his chest and smiles at Steve, saying: I'm Stanley. Pleasure to meet you.

Stan: That's really nice of you to offer sending us stuff, uh, stranger. Thanks.

Ayy Steve! Long time no see!! How is everyone??? There seems to be a lot going on rn

Stan looks to Steve questioningly, unsure of what to make of what was asked to them. Stan says: Long time no see...? Do you know who- Steve interrupts: I just started existing yesterday, so nope!

Stan balks at Steve, who smiles back at him. Stan says: Wait, you're a newspawn?? In the next panel, the camera pans out to show Stan and Steve sitting on the bed. Stan rummages behind him for something. Stan says: Didn't think I'd ever see one again. Hold on-

Stan hands Steve a book, which is titled: A Guide to the Minecraft World, by Stanley Ridgewall. Stan says: Here. Something to help you get around the world.

The camera is zoomed way out again, showing only the top halves of Steve and Stan. Steve holds up the book he received, and as he does, Stan says: Nice doing business with you.

It's probably the least of your problems rn but did you ever encounter illagers? Ever fought in a raid?

While walking, Al types into the Minecraft chat with one hand, flinging his other hand into the air. Al responds: Oh, no, no. You're 7 updates ahead of us, my anonymous acquaintance. This world has been stuck in 1.7.10 since...

Al stops in his tracks and closes the chat window, looking at us from over his shoulder. Al continues: ...well, it's been a few years now, hasn't it?

Al: Though, you’ll find that we have other exotic characters around here, Nord being one of them. What with the abundance of mods attached, there are more challenges in this world than your newfangled raids. I hope you’re having fun with what you have.

(I don't know if human npc's can understand villagers... But Orchid is going to NOW take advantage of being a villager at the moment... Ask for either Steve, Al, or Stanley to encounter...)

"Is there anyone there?" The strange villager was looking around... Having something shiny and valuable in her bag...

A wide panel of Orchid standing outside of a simply built house. A loud "THUMP, shuffle" can be heard from inside the house.

Stanley opens the door to greet Orchid, pointing a thumb over his shoulder. Stan: "Oh, hey there. Is this your house?"

Stan: "Sorry about all the noise earlier. The guy with me, uh...scrambled to hide under the bed. Can't blame him, being a newspawn. World's a big place."

(( Mod note: The point of language is a little tricky in this world -- for reasons that have yet to be fully expanded upon -- but we can chalk up their ease of communication to be from the good graces of code shenanigans c: ))

So you guys are on 1.7.10 with 'an abundance of mods"?

Since you guys clearly have access to this information, I am forced to wonder how exactly you got this information...

Al smiles at the viewer with the messages in one hand. Al: Hoho! Gained some interest in our world, have we?

Shot from farther away and behind Al, who gestures off-handedly. The background color is darker than the panel before to suggest a slight dip in mood. Al: Now, if only that interest could solve our looming problem, but I digress.

The background color returns to a lighter color. Al walks down a hall, waving a greeting at a villager that he passes by while talking. Al: To answer WHAT we know, mod-wise, we do indeed have several mods attached to this world. Dimensional Doors, Archimedes' Ships, Better Dungeons, Twilight Forest...to name a few. Even we Human NPCs belong to a mod named after us.

Al motions both hands downward to mimic a sort of digging motion. Al: As for HOW we know...THAT is a combination of contacting other worlds, and digging a little bit into this system's directories. The console commands have more utility to them than one might think.

Closer zoom in on Al's face. He gestures smugly. Al: And it helps when you've been here since the close beginning.

Another screenshot of an ask from Anonymous. It asks: 7 updates? from 1.7.10? Sir- listen- we are currently nearing update 1.19

Al: “Well, we won’t be thrown away that easily.”

whos that cute villager with you in that flashback/story?

A hand from off-screen waves at Bella, a Minecraft villager with round glasses, to catch her attention. She looks up from a floating console screen and regards the person inquisitively. The person off-screen says: Bellaaaa- BELLA! Care to introduce yourself to the wider universe? Bella: Hm? Oh, is this the new messaging system that Communications came up with?

Two panels. In the first, Bella turns to the side to wave at Al, who walks past her and greets her in the same way. He points ahead of him as a silent notice to her that something needs her attention soon in that direction. Bella: I suppose a brief introduction can't hurt... In the second panel, we zoom in on Bella's face as she stiffly pushes her glasses further up the bridge of her nose. Bella: Ahem!

A full body image of Bella, who wears a long robe with wide sleeves and boots, a typical outfit for all Minecraft villagers. She has one hand behind her back and the other over her chest, like some sort of salute. Bella: I am Bella Flores, a Department Manager for Research and Development, and a Station Manager for Station Zero-Zero.

A short, narrow panel showing smaller figures of Bella and the person who was formerly off-screen. The person has short black hair and seems to be in some kind of uniform. Bella seems flustered, her glasses askew on her face as she is startled out of her rigid introduction. Person: And a cutie, according to this letter. Bella: Ah.

Bella: “...I see that you meant to ask Stanley about me? I hope you don’t mind us answering this in his stead; he wouldn’t be able to answer you, since he doesn’t know who I am.

The compliment is...appreciated, thank you. It’s been a trying day. The world is slipping into the digital ether, my station went down along with Worldspawn, I had to grapple with the First Hero -- who came back to us corrupted beyond repair or recognition...and now I have to attend a conference to assess our situation! No rest for the weary, it seems...

I’m sorry, this is as much time as I can spend standing around and talking. If you have any other questions regarding myself or anyone else in the Technician Collective, well...Chun, why don’t you answer them?“ Chun: “No, shhh- I’m just the messenger! I’ll just find someone else to bother if I get those kinds of questions.”
