Info on them:
• Met at the park. Libby often goes to the park to feed the ducks at the lake. One of those days, she happened to come across Rupert, who seemed to be getting pecked at by some of the ducks. Libby was quick to the rescue and they immediately hit things off real well!
• Since then, they’ve both developed an interest in one another, and would often come to the park just to see and talk to one another once again! They bonded over a shared interest in forensics as well as old-fashioned tendencies.
• They both quickly developed little crushes on one another. Making the first move, Rupert went over-the-top by quite literally getting Libby one of every flower in the flower shop to prove how much he loved her. (He didn’t know what her favorite flower was and wanted to surprise her.)
• They met and got together in 2016, two years before the events of The Conspiracy.
• They often like to spend time together by sitting down for some tea and going on walks through the park.
• Libby is stuck in the “true love” mindset, she’s a hopeless romantic who’s always dreaming of happily ever after! The loss of her first husband really took a toll on her mental health, which explains her devotion to Rupert, finally being able to love again after such a loss.
• Rupert isn’t open about it like Libby is, but he feels similarly about her. She’s his first sweetheart he’s had in a long time.
The Conspiracy spoilers | AU
• After Rupert was found to be suffering from gas poising, he was put under Libby’s care, who took it upon herself to treat him as a devoted nurse.
• Libby’s aid in the attempted (in this AU) murder provided to be a great help to the GPD.
• Rupert had never told the other GPD members about Libby, nor did he hint to them that he was even in a relationship at all. The attempted murder was when the rest of the GPD learned of their relationship.
(Amir was surprised to learn that Rupert could still “get it” hah- sorry)

Rita: “Well… I guess I technically didn’t die. So you see, when they found me, I was barely hanging on for dear life, y’know? I was unconscious, I was on death’s door! Haha, anyway.. so they put me on a ventilator, I was having some problems with my heart so they had to use some resuscitation to keep it beating and low and behold it worked! Yeah, and so, man was my arm fucked up so they took that thing off just about right away, and the same can be said for my leg and both of my feet! Thank heavens my other arm wasn’t as injured although some of my fingers had to go! I should also mention, apparently they were also able to inject me with something that was able to reverse the serum’s effects.. so yeah! Pretty cool huh?” :D

As a merfolk, Sammy is an axolotl just like his mother. He’s growing accustomed to living both on land and underwater. Although his parents’ lives are dangerous, Sammy is well loved and protected by them and the rest of Captain David Jones’ crew.
