Aww, Yeah! Time For A New Traditional Piece For School! (:

Aww, yeah! Time for a new traditional piece for school! (:

Normally I’d just post the finished painting, but I figured I could try to get some feedback on the sketch before I start painting tomorrow. At this point, I’m not sure if I will put something over the eyes or not.

Critique is requested!

[ID: A picture of a grey pencil sketch on a canvas. The sketch is a portrait of a person showing the right side of their face. They have a large mohawk, and wear a heavy looking mask that is made of segments plastic and metal. Their neck is mostly hidden by a sweater and the collar of their jacket, which stands upright. End ID]

Day Two!
Day Two!

Day two!

At this point, I can only work on this in school, so I can’t get as much done as I’d like, but I like how it’s going so far. Clip studio paint has spoiled me however, it took me half an hour today to get the mask right, while I could have done it digitally in a couple minutes. The color palette is going to be pretty warm, with a lot of yellows and neutral tans.

[ID: The same canvas as before, but on the right, the sketch is covered completely by dark blue masking tape. On the left, the mask has been removed, showing the sketch again. Around it, the canvas has been painted with acrylic paints to be an uneven shade of blue and cyan. End ID]

Hi! (:

Hi! (:

In an attempt to exorcise my art block, I decided to practice rendering pieces with multiple light sources! And like frogs, bees something I seem to default to when bored. The result is something inspired by bee venom, something that is normally translucent, but ended up purple for this.

While I did originally glance at a picture of a bee to get the basic proportions down, I stopped using it pretty quickly and winged it from there.

Critique is always welcome! The ID is under the cut!

Redbubble - Commissions & Adopts

[ID: A digital drawing, showing a bee from the side. Its full body is shown, but it is not sitting on any surface. The abdomen is split into four hard segments, and it curls under the body slightly. It is a warm brown, with yellow stripes along each segment's edge. The yellow of the stripes is the same color as the fur on the bee's thorax and leg. Purple droplets come from the stinger, and arc around the bee in a circle. They glow purple, and the light shines around the stinger and reflects off the eye. End ID]

A digitally drawn portrait of the DnD NPC Silas Blake. He is shown from the shoulders up, and is facing to the left of the canvas. His skin and hair are dark, and he has a couple of white streaks in his hair. Silas' jewlery and glasses are all golden, along with his vest and tie. his red jacket has a dark swirling pattern.

I finished Silas Blake (:

Notes that I can’t put under a cut because I’m on mobile and have no clue how to add one:

I used Ibis Paint for this, rather than Clip Studio Paint. I couldn’t blend the same way I normally do, at least not without the iPad crashing every couple on minutes. As a result, everything is a bit sharper.

Silas is from the DnD oneshot named Can’t Play Dead/Wrong Side of the Tracks, by @dailyadventureprompts. I changed his name up a bit.

While actually undead and partially rotting in the oneshot, one of the players was a previous member of Blake’s gang, and requested that he be alive in the portrait.

Critique is very much welcome! I’m still not entirely confident coloring like this, and I’m going to be doing at least one or two more pieces like this.

A digital drawing of the RHPS characters Columbia and Eddie, in an embrace. Small pieces of ice are frozen to Eddie's hair and shirt. The two are embracing, with Eddie's back to the camera. Their foreheads are touching, and his blood is visible in Columbia's hair.

(: My tablet isn't dead! (:

The adaptor cord was broken, but I have a replacement now, and can keep making finished digital stuff! (:

Notes about the piece and the designs are under the cut, and the image description is in the Alt text! Critique is always welcome!

Columbia was based entirely off of Nell Campbell's performance in the original film and Eddie is a messy combination of a number of different depictions.

Eddie's skin is meant to look somewhat dead, but I'm not sure how well I did - some of it looks a bit flat.

I wish these two had just a bit more time together, they really seemed so happy to see each other. (:
