Cuisine - Classic Cuban Midnight Medianoche Sandwich One of the more well-known sandwiches to originate from the island of Cuba is this one. My uncle, who formerly worked at a restaurant in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and currently works at a Cuban cafeteria in Miami, gave me this recipe. The perfect accompaniment to this sandwich is a cold mamey milkshake and some fried plantain chips!
