today I finished AA:AJ :D and got fire alpaca installed on my Laptop!so to celebrate I've done a 10 minute doodle of Apollo Justice using my touchpad cuz I've yet to get my drawing tablet out of storage :3

Still will post traditional art as I enjoy doing that but This of course means I'll also be able to get back into digital art :D
I guess the trade off is Wendy Oldbag ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The real reason why I love Narumitsu is that I hate that people aren't worshipping Phoenix as much as I do. Like in the world of this game, Edgeworth has thousands of girls in love with him, and Phoenix had only one. This is bullshit. Phoenix is the most beautiful person on earth. Literally amazing in everything
for the same reason, I like Krisnix. Let Phoenix be the protagonist of a typical visual novel, where rich handsome men with mental problems fight over him
Because I personally hc Maya as being a metal fan (it just makes sense to me) I can totally Imagine her playing metal music out loud in her house and Pearl becoming a fan partly because it's Maya's favourite music and partly because she doe's quite how it sounds.
Pearl Fey listens to death metal
Just finished DD/AA5... I feel so conflicted about the game. There are certainly parts I enjoyed, some things I even loved, but the pacing of each case is SO... L O N G... and there are also many things that I found either annoying or just didn't like.
Don't think I'm an AA5 hater, but I'm not an AA5 lover either.
The funniest Ace Attorney head canon I've seen is Miles Edgeworth having a British accent. especially since he was born and raised in America, and probably also Germany from age 9 as his "big sister" Fanziska seems to of been born and raised there (and personally I'm Manfred adopted him believer).
So idk where a British accent would come from, is it just because he wears fancy suit, is an antagonist and drinks tea?
With all this said I saw a fun version of this head canon where Miles has specifically an oxford British accent because he trained himself to be good at multiple accents as a child and, decided he like using that one as his default accent the most. Wish I remembered the fanfic I saw this amazing hc in though :/
Because it's Miles Edgeworth he probably knows all the accents and languages tbh

couldn't of said it better myself

and Kristoph plans on murdering him for processing such power... once he finds a way out of his jail cell

Random Ace Attorney head canons I have
(spoilers for AA1-5, haven't played the other games yet.)
The Payne's and the Edgeworth's are distant relatives, the Payne's don't know this, but Miles does, Miles does not enjoy this fact at all
Franziska and Kristoph do speak English with a German accent but, it's not super thick as they both practiced speaking English from young age
Klavier also learnt English from a young age but likes to exaggerate his accent and, say the occasional German word, because he thinks it makes him more sexy
Larry has rich snobbish parents who were super strict and neglectful, he never got along with them (being the class clown partly to rebel against them, and partly for fun) and moved out after dropping out of highschool
The Blackquills are British (I mean this is kinda canon cuz Simon is British coded but still wanna mention it)
Maya loves metal music and, often played her CDs really loud in the office on a slow day, during the events of AA1-3 (Phoenix didn't enjoy this, but knew stopping Maya wasn't worth it, especially when Peal was also in the office dancing with Maya to the music)
Trucy also likes mental thanks to Maya sending her some CDs for her 14th birthday, Phoenix refused to talk to Maya for a few months after this happened
Trucy and Pearl tried to get Apollo and Athena into metal, they failed
Lana and Iris are friends, they met each other in prison
Miles and Athena both enjoy having conversations (often about the law) with each other, due to them both being multilingual and therefore, being able to switch between languages on a whim with each other while maintaining a conversation
I completely agree. I love Wrightworth so much but, it does make me a little sad when people only see gay pinning from this line, when it's so much more than that.
For me I see this line as both Edgeworth questioning himself as a prosecutor (and if he really agrees his methods) but also him, for the first time in years being forced to feel feelings.
And by feelings I mean all of them, as (to me) AA1 Miles felt like he went on a journey from subconsciously blocking out most if not all emotions due to childhood trauma and, not wanting to change that as he was an efficient prosecutor (in his opinion before questioning it), to having to deal with Phoenix showing up in the courtroom with his savior complex, causing Miles to not just start feeling emotions in the present but, probably processing the feelings he blocked out as a child due to trauma (as I highly doubt he ever got the chance to fully grieve or was raised to be emotionally healthy after being adopted by Manfred).
"uncertainty" and "unease" after all are very broad negative emotions that would certainly apply to a person who has had status quo of the last 4 years of their life completely shattered for many, many reasons.
I get it, I get it, we all love the gay lawyers but I do feel that interpreting the "Unnecessary Feelings" line as solely romantic and ending it there really defeats the purpose of the line in the first place. The point is not "Edgeworth and Phoenix are in love" the point is "for the first time in his career, Edgeworth is forced to question the nature of his motives and method and whether or not he truly belives in them."
Like, yes it can be romantic if you want it too in addition to its intended meaning but I feel that the non-romantic connotation of the line is infinitely more important to Edgeworth's story and character and shouldn't be ignored.
Same! I was so said to see the feature go away. Honestly I think a big reason why I enjoyed playing AA3 was because you could present profiles, some of the dialogue was super fun, such as Larry confessing he's straight no matter how hard he tried to like men when you present a male profile at him in case 2.
My favourite profile the present by fair was Phoenix's though as imo it had the best dialogue and the description is also wonderful:
"Me. What more can I say? This is my third year as a young (but skilled!) lawyer."
I legit laughed when I first saw his profile, something about the description combined with his goofy looking profile pic really got to me.
i missed one huge thing while playing the aj trilogy and its the ability to present peoples profiles to random people :(( its like really cute how much crumbs u can get from presenting profiles to people like YOU CAN EVEN GET SOME EVIDENCE LIKE THAT. I miss it so much cuz we could present mias profile to gumshoe and like even HE had stuff to say about her its making me go crazy. and then those bits where phoenix would present himself and maya and gumshoe basically called him ugly like COME ON. think about it we couldve..... we couldve had it all if it were still in the aj trilogy
It's okay though cuz about 8 years later he becomes a lawyer again and defends a fucken orca
What I don’t understand is why they had to disbar Phoenix so soon after Bridge. They couldn’t have given him at least a year or so to recover from the shock of what happened in his last case? No, capcom was like “yeah let’s traumatize this man, make him send his boss’s boyfriend to prison, and then let’s strip him of his badge two months later.”
Send me your fandom hot take and I will say what I think about it!
I will try to answer with the following pattern:
Strongly agree | Agree | Neutral | Disagree | Strongly disagree
And will elaborate. At least will try.

my brain went on a cursed tangent as I was walking today. Basically I was thinking about how I hc Miles Edgeworth as having a fairly deep voice and than, I remembered that keanu reeves has a fairy deep voice that is oddly accurate to my hc vocal range for Miles (though Miles in my mind sounds less brooding than the characters Keanu gets type casted for typically and more formal, if that makes sense).
Which lead to me thinking of how cursed it would be to have an Ace Attorney live action film that had keanu reeves play Miles Edgeworth. Could you imagine Keanu with clean shaven face and Miles silly grey anime boy hairstyle?
thank you so much for replying! As someone who just finished DD I feel so bad for forgetting how little he thinks/talks about Trucy in the triral with Miles. I think I was mostly distracted by how unhinged their banter was, as well as how forceful Miles was with convicting Athena (to be clear, very in character for him but still an intense moment for me personally) but,I now remember thinking a few times "Why isn't Phoenix thinking about his daughter safety!?" as I was playing the trial.
Also that's a very good point comparing this to case 2-4 cuz yeah, in that situation he acted how you'd expect, but in case 5-5 I do agree the stakes are higher and yet, his reaction is much more mild (which shouldn't be the case internally at the very least).
I think another reason why I felt he was much worse in AJ is because we see how upset Trucy is over her Dad disappearing on her again, but in DD she's written to be unaffected by the kidnapping (as I'm pretty sure she mentions not being scared and making everything happy with magic tricks) but now, I'm realising that's less a "situation affected her less" and, at best case, her putting on a brave face and worse case, the writers not considering how scary a kidnapping situation would be for a 16 year old...
Do I still think Phoenix is worse in AJ than DD? A little bit, as again, as him disappearing on Trucy with no warning is pretty bad (and while Apollo was there to watch her last time it's implied normally she's on her own) but thinking more on case 5-5 kidnapping arc has very much made me agree he's not much better than in AJ, and argurebly worse in some ways. So now I'm starting to (mostly) take back my hot take.
As for him being a bad Dad, I'm inclined to agree he's not a bad Dad, especially by AA standards cuz oh boy those are low but, fair from a "good" Dad. Definitely an okay dad especially considering his circumstances during most of the time he raised her imo.
Response to the hot takes: Phoenix is a better Dad in DD than AJ.
Reason I think this is because in AJ he abandons Trucy to work on the Jurist system for all of case 3, with no warning and apparently this isn't the first time he's done this to her. Sure you could argue he wasn't leaving his 15 yr completely alone cuz he knew Apollo would watch her but, given he doesn't know Apollo very well at this point, nor asks him to babysit his daughter makes the situation worse imo.
Meanwhile in DD he is busy with work yes but to me is much more present in her life and communicates with her regularly even while working as a lawyer, still far from a fantastic Dad in DD but seems to be better. So I'm curious as to why people think he's a better Dad in AJ cuz I just don't see it that way but maybe I'm forgetting some important details?
Also I haven't finished SOJ yet (only finished the first case yesterday and yet to start case 2) but given he risked his life in a foreign country to defend a stranger (who to be fair is 9 but it's still concerning how fast he jumps into accepting the death penalty imo) when he has a 17 daughter doesn't give me much hope for how good of a Dad he's gonna be in SOJ (but please don't spoil the future cases for me)
Strongly agree | Agree | Neutral | Disagree | Strongly disagree
Apologies in advance for this long response. It turns out I feel very strongly about a certain thing in DD, and how it pertains to Phoenix as Trucy's dad.
I won't say anything about SOJ for spoiler reasons, though I do have issue with some things in that game as well (which contributes to my feelings about Phoenix on this topic overall). Also, it's worth mentioning that I haven't played or watched the second trilogy since my first playthrough back in early 2021, so there could be important things I'm forgetting or misremembering.
I do have issues with some things in AJ, as well as things mentioned about the 7yg, but my opinion on Phoenix’s parenting there is still much more favorable than in the following two games.
For DD, Trucy isn't present much, from what I can recall. She's there occasionally at the office and says a few lines, mainly, but her largest role happens in 5-5, which is also the case where my issue lies (despite really enjoying that case overall).
Her role starts well as Phoenix's investigation assistant, but it kinda falls apart once they separate. From what I remember, she suddenly runs into the space center (to go after Apollo, I believe), and I can't remember if there's any sign of potential danger at that point, so I can't definitively say whether Phoenix should be faulted for letting her go/not going in after her.
However, once he finds out about the danger of the hostage situation, I found his reaction to that and attitude towards it for the rest of the case to be extremely underwhelming/inappropriate, to say the least.
He doesn't show nearly enough concern for his daughter's safety and life when he finds out and throughout the case, even when her life is repeatedly threatened. And as much as I love the banter between Phoenix and Miles in that case, it probably makes the relative lightheartedness (despite the high stakes for numerous people involved) stick out even more.
We're also in Phoenix’s POV—we can see his thoughts. So there can't be the excuse that he's putting on a brave face and is struggling more than we can see.
But what makes his reaction stick out the most to me is that we've seen how Phoenix has dealt with a similar situation to this before: in JFA (which I'm assuming you've played, as I'm about to mention major spoilers for it).
The rest is under the cut for 2-4 spoiler reasons, and also because this post got quite long.
Maya gets kidnapped. Her life in exchange for a not guilty verdict. Phoenix was in despair when he found out, nearly passing out, and he worried for her throughout the entire case. He even went to some questionable lengths (at first) to secure her safety.
Now, this is fine by itself. I don't have any issues here, and I think he acted appropriately. 2-4 is actually my favorite case in the series. My problem comes from when we compare the two scenarios and see how 5-5 Phoenix handles it.
Firstly, his concern should be, at the very least, the same level he showed back then. But it isn't anywhere close, when in reality, he should be much more upset at the circumstances in 5-5.
We have Maya, who was only a friend to him, an adult at the time, and also someone he'd only known for a little over a year at that point. Then we have Trucy, his daughter, not even 18 yet and Phoenix is still legally responsible for, and someone he'd raised for the last 8 years (half of her life).
Then the difference in their captors. De Killer is a cold, logical, professional assassin. He doesn't act hastily. His actions are very calculated. Maya is also his only hostage and the only insurance he has to keep Phoenix working with him and trying to defend Engarde. He wouldn't kill Maya unless there's absolutely no way for Phoenix to still defend Engarde. In that situation, Maya is too valuable. There's a certain safety and comfort in that, as Phoenix would have less worry that Maya would be killed, as long as Matt isn't declared guilty.
Let's compare this to Aura, who is acting in the opposite way to De Killer. She's not a professional killer, and the hostage situation was an act of desperation. She's more prone to acting rash and killing hostages because she's acting out of emotion and desperation to save her brother, as well as to avenge Metis.
She isn't able to think carefully and logically in that instance. It's not just business to her like it is for De Killer (his “aftercare” as he would call it). She also has numerous hostages and far more leverage than De Killer had. She could kill Trucy and still have influence over the prosecutor’s office, as they still had other hostages to worry about. Phoenix also had other reasons to take that case and keep defending, considering Athena was the defendant (though, if Trucy actually died, it could be too difficult for him to continue the case).
So, not only should the person who was taken hostage be more important to him in this instance, he should be more concerned as, logically, Trucy was at a higher risk of being killed than Maya was.
Again, I think Phoenix’s reaction in 2-4 was appropriate. The problem is with how he handles the situation in 5-5.
Even though he should be reacting more severely in the 5-5 situation, due to the increased chance of death and due to whose life is in danger—he doesn't. The concern he shows is a sliver of that, and because we have seen how he's reacted in that type of situation before, it makes the incongruity here even more obvious.
How it was handled here in comparison to 2-4 left such a bad taste in my mouth, that it significantly dragged down my opinion of Phoenix as a parent (and that's without getting into the issues I have with SOJ).
Even with that, I don't think he's a bad dad. Especially considering the amount of bad dads in this series. In a lot of ways, he probably did the best he could with the situation he and Trucy were in (during the 7yg), especially as he wasn't planning to become a father at that time and with everything going on. So I think he's good overall. But he isn't the best in the series to me.
See the fandom hot takes ask game here.
I voted artist because I used to hc Phoenix as being a former performing arts major (before changing to law of course) as he's definitely a theatre kid but now, I hc him as being a former visual arts major, focusing on painting (with oils and/or acrylic, I can't imagine him using water colours or gauche, idk why) but, still being heavily involved in the drama department by helping them paint sets and even acting in minor roles in a few plays.
So in my no DL-6 hc he's doing that and doesn't do a law minor let alone change majors.
again based on ideas I've seen in fanfiction
*sigh* looks like I've got a new hc. I mean I already hc Miles and Maya BFFs cuz they both like steel samurai so them being half siblings* would be funny cuz, he would have Maya call him a big brother and Franziska call him a little brother even though his sisters are same age...
Also him being related to Mia would probably make him cringe even more towards how he treated her in their first trial and, I find that concept funnier that I probably should lol.
*because I don't see Gregory Maya's father as that doesn't line up the best with the timeline, unless he was keeping his relationship with Misty hidden from his son and she was hidding her relationship from Mia but I don't like that idea
Who knew that if you mix greggory edgeworth with misty fey you get. . . . . Miles edgeworth (I love this theory so much )

Like seriously

What I thought under the cut (has AA4 spoilers)
I honestly thought he look like a cockroach and as a result found his hair really funny! I'm pretty sure he's meant to look like a bunny cuz his Trucy's half brother, Trucy does magic tricks, it makes sense and, I can kinda see it.
But not super well cuz to me it just looks more like a cockroach so I'm curious to see how many people who decide to take this poll think similar.
Fair points, this is why even with my preference for him being a visual arts major I still see him as an actor cuz his court behaviour does make me think he has experience with improvised acting. Though I didn't think about how his acting skills could help Trucy! Love this hc :D
I know that people prefer to see Phoenix as an artist, but I like the idea of an actor more because I like to imagine that he helps Trucy with her performances. For example, he helps her calm down before the show, gives advice on how to attract an audience, and so on. And damn, with his ability to bluff, I think the actor suits him best.
Side note, I also like to imagine that Phoenix knows some tricks with cards. He can ask her with a sly face, "Is this your card?", and his daughter will do her best to pretend to be shocked, as if she has not known about this trick since she was two years old (it gets harder when Dad tries to amaze her with the 'sudden disappearance of a finger on his hand")
so I'm currently up to the first trial for case 2 in SOJ and, I'm sure this has been said many times but, I really dislike that Phoenix isn't there for Trucy's big show, especially since in case 6-1 he mentioned arriving at khura'in 2 weeks early! What reason does he have to do that!? If he left a week early than he wouldn't have to miss Trucy's big show! That's plenty of time for sightseeing before seeing Maya!
Aside from that though I am enjoying case 6-2 a lot, which is good because I personally hated case 6-1 (all good if you like it, it's just not for me) so I hope I keep on enjoying case 6-2 :-D I even teared up when Phoenix said he was proud of Apollo and meant it! Cuz in AJ he said something like "I believe in you" and when Apollo asked if he meant that he basically said "lol nope" :'-( so it's sweet to see him do the bare minimum and be a good boss/supervisor to Apollo
