Damian Wayne X You - Tumblr Posts
Y/n: I'm sorry Damian, I really need some space rn and some alone time, its not you, its me i promis-
Damian: if you wanted space you should've become an astronaut, now come over so we can cuddle đ
Jason has cuteness aggression.
Anything that you do is cute as fuck to him and all he wants to do is squeeze the fuck out of you in his strong arms, but has to restrain himself from doing so because he doesnât want to genuinely hurt you.
Heâs just so full of love that he doesnât know what to do with it other then spend all his time with you doing your own thing, even though everything within him is screaming at him to reach out and squish your cheeks together, all the while smothering your face in a abundance of kisses for doing absolutely nothing because thatâs how badly in love he is.
Jason just didnât want to scare you off in how he loves because it could be quite suffocating or too much, but as long as you communicate to him that his love wasnât suffocating or too much then expect it to quickly be apart of your daily routine, then again itâs not like youâre complaining because an affectionate Jason is an adorable Jason.
So youâd happily just sit there and allow him to hold your face between his hands and kiss you senselessly for just simply existing.
âWhy. Are. You. So. Fucking. Cute.â Jason would say between planting kisses on your lips, forehead and nose.
âIâm not even doing anything other than sit here.â You chuckled, smiling widely at feeling of his lips against your skin.
âNot a valid enough response.â Jason replies as he continues his barrage of affection.
âBut itâs true!â You exclaimed as Jason enough you into his arms and squeezed you tightly as though you were a plush toy. You cuddled into him and rested your head on his chest, finding this side of Jason to be sweet and beautiful as himself. âThen why are you the most precious person in my life Hmmm?â Jason asked rhetorically, burying his face into your head, tightening his grip on you. âThen why is it that I would do anything youâd ask without a second thought?â
âBecause weâre together?â You said, faking ignorance as you wanted nothing more to hear him say it.
âItâs because I love you chipmunk.â Jason murmured as he pressed a lingering kiss to your temple, knowing that even if he did manage to show you all the love he had within him, heâd only find even more love underneath all that to give to you.
[PLATONIC ONLY] Damian Wayne claims that he hates being your friend.
But if that was the case then why is it that he goes out of his way to make sure that you were comfortable and treated with respect when he brings you over to the Wayne Manor; Something heâs never gone out of his way to do for anyone besides maybe Jon Kent, but thatâs neither here nor there.
Then why was it that when he first introduce you to Titus as a sign of trust, the Great Dane didnât waste a second in wanting to get to know you with how often he would impatiently nudge you with his head, whine and howl until you gave him head rubs and or cuddles. Damian on the other hand acted as though he was embarrassed by this, but was secretly happy that you and his dog got along as it meant a lot for Damian if Titus instantaneously likes you, he trusts Titus judgment as he believes that dogs were great judges of characters.
Then why was it that when you showed genuine signs of struggle, he was the first person to notice and help you with whatever you were having troubles with as best he could. Damian knew that he would be considered the last person people who go to for help and for obvious reasons, but when it was you Damian wanted to be your first choice, your first option out of everyone; If you get stuck then you might as well get stuck together, even tough heâs intelligent in his own right, heâs not prone to not knowing the answer to something.
It happens to everyone and you have to remind him in those moments that heâs imperfect human, not a weapon. He needs reminding of that now and then in all honesty.
Damian wonât out right call you his friend but he will show it without even knowing heâs even doing it until someone -maybe one of his brothers, mainly Grayson- points it out to him.
âIs your friend coming over today?â Grayson would ask.
âTheyâre not my friend.â Damian answered bitterly.
âThen why are you clearing a space for them.â Grayson then points out and thatâs when Damian stops to realise what he was doing, scowling as he crossed his arms. âTt. Thatâs none of your concern Grayson I just like to keep my living spaces clean and easily maintained.â Graysons smile grew as he leant against the doorframe. âOh really? Thatâs the only reason youâre doing this?â
âYes.â Damian replied, adamant with his answer.
Grayson shrugs and raises his hands in surrender. âOkay, if thatâs what going on then I guess Iâll leave you be then.â
âThat would be much appreciated Grayson, I still have much to do before y/nâs arrival-â Damian once again stopped upon realising what he was insinuating and looked towards Grayson who looked like the cat who caught the canary. âNot a word to anyone.â Damian threatens as he points a finger at his older brother.
âI didnât hear a thing.â Grayson said but as he walked into the hallway only to scream, âDAMIAN IS CLEARING UP HIS ROOM FOR HIS FRIEND! JASON YOU OWE ME MONEY! I WON THE BET!â
In the distance Jason could be heard cursing Dick out for cheating somehow.
Damian gritted his teeth but he knew he canât hunt Dick down for sport just yet, you were arriving in ten minutes and he still had some work to do until then.
Dick has an obsession with you resting your head on his shoulder or on his back, followed by your arms holding onto his waist for dear life.
He lives for it and gets embarrassingly excited whenever you do it to the point that itâs obvious that he was expecting something every time you came home. Dick just likes the idea that despite how exhausted you might be, you still go out of your way to drag your feet across the room and rest your head on his shoulder as you whispered a greeting into his skin.
He enjoys this so much that if you ever dare to forget to do so, heâll pout and silently watch you as you moved about the apartment expectantly. If after five minutes you still donât do the thing then Dick will show you his back and sigh dramatically until youâre forced to take notice.
âWhatâs wrong pretty bird?â You asked wearily.
âNothing.â He replies.
âDick youâre huffing and sighing every five seconds, somethings wrong.â You said, getting up to move towards him before resting your head on his back and throwing your arms over his waist. âSo tell me whatâs wrong so that we can talk about it and get through it together.â You murmur and you felt Dick relax as he rested his hands over your own.
âThereâs no need to talk about anything because youâre already doing the thing that Iâve been waiting for you to do since you got in.â Dick answered and you couldnât help but laugh at this while tightening your hold on his waist. âThis? Seriously?â You asked.
âYep.â Confirmed Dick as he moved himself so that he could properly hold you against him. âJust this and only this.â He adds softly and you had no reason to argue with him over something that brought him comfort and reassurance.
âOkay, Iâll remember to do this a lot more, just for you.â You promised, kissing his shoulder.
âIâll hold you to that promise sweetie.â Dick says as he rested his head atop of yours, closing his eyes as he basked in your closeness and allowed himself to breathe and be in the moment with you.
Because thatâs all he wanted, to live in the moment with you.
hiii, i hope you are doing well! Can you do a little headcanon thing or a little drabble with Damian Wayne (robin) with a little sibling reader? Thank you!

Damian Wayne x Child! Reader (Part 1) - This won't do ââ â
Synopsis: after seeing the state of your apartment Damian pulls some strings and changes your life on step at a time.
Masterlist , Pillager Of Art
"Are your parents attending the pta meeting?" Damian asks.
After seeing the wretched state your house was in Damian chose to stand at the door.
The moldy yellow floor of your apart was covered in dirt and whatever substances you managed track back into the house. The walls in the same sorry state with a moldy yellow wallpaper that was covered in nasty cracks and stains that could never be removed.
The tiles of your flooring were covered in a bottomless pit of clothes and whatever else was in that pile. Your window didn't show some immaculate view of Gotham City instead it was closed off with would. Glass shards left on the floor in front of the window after a stray bullet was shot through your window.
"Oh my Dad, he's not coming" you say as you make your way towards your kitchen.
Damian couldn't bare looking into the kitchen to see what mess was made in their so he chose to stair the ceiling instead.
"Why not?" He tilts his head to the side, he was told by Alfred that events like these were the only way to see how your child was progressing and apparently it was mandatory for parents to attend so why weren't your coming?
"Oh, my parents are dead" you said as if It didn't bother you and it didn't.
Your mother had sadly passed away during child birth.
Your dad tho...
He was a piece of work, never cared for your well-being AT ALL. You basically raised yourself in this house. The only reason you hadn't starved yet was because your father left food in the cupboard for you to use (mostly unhealthy cheap food).
You barely ever saw your dad and when he died you hadn't even noticed, not like he ever came home anyway. The only way you knew was when the news broadcast came on and you saw a blurred out image of a man that vaguely resembled your father.
There were several gunshot holes scattered around the figures body and by the looks of it he was probably just getting off of work before the death occurred.
The situation never bothered you, having no adults around was a blessing if anything.
"My parents can't come but I'll wait with you until your dad does" you replied and gasped when you found what you were looking for.
"Dami you have to try one" you turned to him with a cup of ramen noodles in hand.
"No thank you, aren't there other options?" he asked as he began to list off foods he'd already eaten before.
Safe to say, you hadn't even know those foods existed or eaten anything that wasn't microwavable.
This wouldn't do.
When he left your house that evening he made it his mission to find a way to get you out of that situation.
And that he did, when the day of the PTA meeting arrives Damian is oddly quiet. Not as if he talked much anyway.
While you both waited for his dad to finish speaking with the teachers he'd a held a tight grip on your hand as if to silently tell you not to run off anywhere.
"Dami I still don't know why you told me to bring all my stuff with me, are we having a sleepover?" You asked, you were told to bring all necessities which means that you needed your tooth brush and whatever you could salvage from that mess of a house.
"You'll know when we get there" he said calmly which only made your excitement grown even more. He was already pretty used to your energetic behavior so this was nothing.
At last the meeting had finished and you were all exiting he building.
"Is this the friend you told me about Damian" his father spoke up only to receive a nod in return.
You had never noticed how eerily similar they look but now that you were stood right before him you realized noticed the shared features.
"(Reader) right" Bruce got down in one knee so he could speak to you at eye level. Now, extending invitations to join the family weren't an everyday occurrence but if his son was so hard pressed on your living conditions and even brought up good points as to why you can't live there.
Plus he knew you were a good kid.
"A little Birdy informed me of your living conditions and they wanted me to extend an exciting offer to you" he spoke to you in a way that made your excitement peak.
You were so excited that you hadn't even noticed when you got in the car or when you arrived at the manor or when you arrived at Damian's bedroom door.
For you everything went by quickly, so quickly that when you woke up the next morning you couldn't even remember why you were in Damian's house or why you were currently bundled up across from his sleeping face.
He must've bundled you up while you were asleep. He was always considerate but rarely ever showed you that side of him.
"Dami, I need to go home" you said groggily.
"Your not going anywhere" he instantly replied.
"But I can't stay here forever, I need to go home" you said in a worried tone but he only raised a brow.
"I knew you weren't listening" he sighed.
"Just go back to sleep" he waved his hand in front if your face which seemed to do the trick because you were knocked out within seconds.
And just like that you were silently adopted into the family.
Overprotective Batfam making sure you get home safely while in their patrol route!

Damian Wayne
-Damian will watch you from the shadows, silently taking out any threats that cross your path.
-You won't even notice the tiny figure following you home until he finally makes an unwanted appearance.
You'll be walking home on a slightly foggy evening, the shadows making It easier for Damian to follow behind you.
The evening's going fine until some petty thief decides to jump from behind the corner and swipe at you for your belongings.
You can't even process the events that take place next. In the blink of an eye the thief is laid out on the pavement in front of you with a vicious black eye forming and a small figure stood above his body.
The figure then slowly makes eye contact with you.
He won't say anything, he'll just stare at you for a while before retreating back into the shadows.
Weird.
Then after that night you'll become more and more aware of his presence following you home every night.
His silence is a bit unnerving but atleast you won't have to worry about your safety for the next couple nights.
Dick Grayson
-Unlike Damian, Richard will walk side by side with you. Asking about your day or carrying on a whole conversation while you listen to him.
-He'll show you random tricks, like swinging off a light pole and somehow elevating himself enough to land on a roof or he'll take out a villain with a flashy swing and kick.
-In short, he just love to entertain you on your way home.
"Does my hair look bad?" he'll ask before deep diving into a one sided conversation about how his siblings keep making fun of every hairstyle he's had thus far and how it's starting to affect his self esteem.
Then he names some off the top of his head that honestly sound pretty good.
"You know I might just chop it all off, I mean long hair isn't really good for fighting and it takes a lot to maintain and-" he'll slowly turn towards you with this blank look in his eye before he whispers out the last few words.
"your still listening"
....
The blank stare is a bit unnerving compared to his usual cheery facade but you quickly recover from the shock.
"I'm usually the listener in conversations so I don't mind your talking" you explain and then turn to fully face him, admiring the long hair that settled into his shoulders.
"Also, I really like your hair"
Then he short circuits and falls back to walking slowly behind you.
Face showing a noticably blank expression.
Seems like someone needs a hug.
Batfam x Doppleganger! Reader (Part 1)
Synopsis: You secretly live with them but one terrible fever made you blow your cover
Masterlist , Part 2
Living with them was easy.
You'd been there long enough to have studied their mannerisms and speech patterns. Like the way they talked, how they would fidget or how they'd react in certain circumstances.
Like Bruce.
He was one if the easiest to impersonate. He barely spoke, always held a stoic expression and never really was seen around the manor.
Most of the time you'd use his likeness to go wherever you wanted and no one questioned you since... who would question Bruce Wayne?
Dick however was a little tough to do.
What you've gathered from your little study is that Richard was always trying to mold himself into what he thought the person needed to see him as and frankly speaking it was tiring.
Often times using his likeness meant you'd have to put up with his siblings crap to an almost extreme extent and you really couldn't hold out any longer when situations like that happened.
He was also a form that you couldn't use very often since most of the time he'd be in BlĂźdhaven.
Tim was your go to in any situation since he was either out on CEO business or cooped up in his room.
You'd related to his character alot since being in a house full of vigilantes always meant that you'd have to be alert in most situations if you didn't want to be caught. Which meant that you'd developed a serious case of insomnia.
Whenever they found you as Tim they'd leave you be because most of the time you'd be passed out on a couch or laying in one of the many comfortable beds around the manor.
They knew Tim needed his sleep so they never stuck around long enough to question why he wasn't in his room.
Damian was one form you'd refused to take on.
Most of the time he needed to be at school. Which meant that you could never walk around the house without being questioned as to why you weren't currently at home.
Like that one time Alfred caught you stealing food in the kitchen on a weekday and nearly sent you to school along with the real Damian.
On other occasions you'd never be able to fully keep up his persona and sometimes let a couple things slip.
Like that one time you'd done something uncharacteristically out of place. Like actually laughing at Dick's jokes, something Damian would never do.
Unlike the rest of his siblings Jason was completely out of the question. He was never in the manor and whenever he was he would always be scrutinized for causing trouble do walking around as him would be very inconvenient.
Now you'd never thought the day would come when you'd actually be caught.
You were so alert and vigilant, always making sure to not overstep or do anything that would rise suspicion but sadly that just wasn't enough.
It was a particularly harsh time of year for you, hay fever had kicked in.
Your throat was itchy, you were sneezing left and right and you were all alone the cold damp attic of the manor.
Usually around this time of year you needed to stay low-key, always hiding in the attic and making sure no one saw you.
Being sick would always mess with your ability.
Anytime you tried impersonating anyone it would always turn out weird or in some situations grotesque.
Multiple fingers would sprout onto each hand, random eyeballs would generate in peculiar parts of your body and sometimes you'd generate the wrong amount of hair all over your body. Ending up looking like a character straight out of a big foot.
Sometimes different body parts wouldn't finish generating or would be missing entirely.
Like the stump of your arm would be missing but you'd still have a hand connected to your shoulder.
Maybe you'd generate something more tame like the wrong eye color or your own physical features would show through. (Like freckles, stretch marks or beauty marks)
All in all it was horrible.
So when you realized that your stash of food for the month had run out so quickly you dreaded having to take up on one if their forms.
But alas you had to.
This time you'd taken on the form of Tim Drake, maybe they'd leave you alone if they thought you were their sleep deprived brother.
Sadly the transformation didn't turn out right.
Your eyes were the wrong shade if blue, your nose sitting a bit lower down in your fad and you'd generated several more fingers than necessary.
Even though you'd generated Tim's face your own features somehow shined through leaving a weird mixture of your features and his clashing together.
Seeing yourself like that nearly made you bring up whatever junk food you'd eaten earlier but you'd have to pull through.
Quickly you hopped down from the misplaced wooden board in their ceiling and made your way through the manor. Maybe you'd be lucky to find no one home.
Making your way down to the kitchen was fairly easy which was odd since it was a weekend which meant almost everyone would be home but you disregarded that and instead focused on grabbing things from the pantry.
You'd been so engrossed in your actions that you didn't notice the figure creeping up behind you.
They just stared at you as you continued taking stuff from the pantry. They seem paralyzed at what they were seeing.
When you finally turned around to exit the kitchen you'd frozen immediately.
You didn't know what to say.
The figure in front of you who you'd come to realize was Tim Drake himself had caught you.
....
You'd tried to stay silent and not move, wondering if you stood completely still would you just disappear in his eyes but sadly the sneeze that was bubbling in your chest said otherwise.
The sneeze causing you to shift painfully between the many forms you'd taken on before finally switching back to your normal self.
Well you just significantly screwed yourself.
Before the situation could get any worse you made the first move, choosing to slide past his frozen figure and bolt back to the attic.
Knowing Tim you wouldn't have enough time to get out of here before he'd alerted everyone of your presence in the manor.
Meanwhile in the bat cave
"Guys, I just ran into myself...grabbing food from the kitchen" Tim slowly descended the stairs with a confused expression settling on his tired face.
"You sure you didn't just start hallucinating?" Damian asked.
"No he's right, look at this" Bruce motioned towards the monitor. It seems that he'd been surfing the security camera footage while you'd chosen to look for food.
A video of you hastily walking through the hallways earlier played on the screen.
The fine details of your figure could be seen in the monitor, like the multiple fingers hanging off your palm and the severely different face that resembled Tim to an extent.
Then the monitor switched to another video of you standing in the kitchen, your body was swaying dangerously from side to side as you tried to reach their pantry. It seems you were more sick than you yourself were aware of.
A couple seconds later Tim came into the kitchen followed by you turning around and switching between different members of the family before settling on to what seems to be your real form.
"That's unnerving" Damian commented.
"I know right they had like nine fingers" Tin shuddered at the sight of your hands before noticing Dick quickly leaving the room.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"To meet our new roommate"
"Shouldn't we get to know them first before you allow then to live here permanently" Tim asked only to be ignored by Dick's quick moving form.
"Shouldn't you be stopping him" Tim turned back to Bruce.
"With father's history I doubt he'd mind adding them to the family" Damian stated.
So I guess welcome to the family?
Batfam x Doppleganger! Reader (Part 2)
Part 1 here Masterlist
You'd think that as soon as they found out about your existence in their house they'd kick you out but no. Instead they'd practically treated you like a brand new sibling.
You'd been given new clothes, a new room and brand new family members all in one day. To you, these people were just random strangers you'd stolen the appearances of but to them you were a rather interesting case.
A doppleganger with no where to go, not something you'd come across on the daily but not completely surprising for Gotham.
Dick was the first one to officially meet you since he was the first one to run off and find you. He immediately welcomes you to the family which is strange since you were technically what some people would call a "stalker" but he just seems to gloss over that.
Tim was the second one to meet you, he seemed very interested in your powers, asking numerous questions on how they worked to which he received zero answers.
Again you thought he would've thrown you out since the first time you guys met you were shifted into a disturbing version of him but what you've come to learn is this family is mostly accepting of the weird and abnormal.
Damian was rather calm about the whole situation which wasn't much of a shock. He didn't seem to mind your presence in the house that much seeing as how he'd always somehow find himself in a room with you.
After awhile you'd notice him following you around a lot more or quietly standing next to you while doing anything.
He's a bit creepy at times but what are you expecting from a tiny assassin?
You've still yet to meet he who must not be named (Jason) which is surprising since even though Dick doesn't live here he's still at the manor every other day. No one really speaks about him that much but when they do everyone goes silent.
Last but not least was the head of the family himself Bruce Wayne. As you've learned before he was the quiet and stoic one.
You'd barely met him in his own house which was rather strange but the one time you'd chosen to walk around the manor with his appearance he'd finally showed himself.
Walking out of the shadows with a serious expression.
"(Reader) right?" He asked but you knew he knew the answer. He then beckoned you to follow after him.
Slowly leading you towards a lonely grandfather clock stood in the middle of the hallway.
"I've been researching your ability and there are some things I think you'd like to see" he said. Next thing you know you were in the bat cave looking at articles and documents on your ability.
This had become a regular thing, it was the only was Bruce could think of getting along with you and it worked. Helping you ease that little fear you had of him off your chest and making you see him in a new light.
(Wanted to get this out of my head, don't take this to seriously plz)

Platonic Yandere! Batfam x Rescued! Reader : Isolation
How many times had they told you, how many times had you heard the same phrase over and over again. Everytime you asked it was always the same reply and at this point it was starting to get to you.
Your life had been changed by these very same people but only one thing stayed the same.
The isolation
A couple months ago you'd cry and beg for a life like this but now that you were experiencing it, it was frankly speaking a bit tiresome.
Back then you'd been trapped in a lab, being experimented on till you collapsed from the pain and exhaustion but now it was different.
Ever since they'd saved you from that madness you never had to go through anything like that ever again. This time it was different...
You were allowed to eat when you wanted to, bathe when you wanted, you were allowed movies and any other kind of entertainment from your newfound family.
But there was always one thing they'd never allow you to do.
Go outside, Go into society.
They'd always came up with excuses and reasons as to why you weren't supposed to go anywhere near the outside world but you still never truly understood why you weren't allowed out there.
Everytime you bright up the idea they'd either blatantly ignore it or conversation there. Like the other day when you'd overheard the others talking about some sort of school that your new younger brother attended everyday.
But when you finally asked them about it they'd all went dead silent and instead you were rushed out of the room quicky and sent to your bedroom. Where you spent the rest of the evening with your lovely brother Dick.
He'd gotten you to forget all about what you'd said earlier and instead got you wondering about what movie you were going to watch later.
It was honestly so scary how they'd manage to get you to change your mind and forget about something in a matter of seconds. But that was until he left the room.
The thought came back to you while you were picking out the movie and it made you pause and think about the the many thoughts they'd somehow made you forgotten.
The marks on your body were still extremely visible and even looking at yourself in the mirror was a hard task to accomplish but this time you let the memories flow back in.
The suck experiments, the pills they'd made you take almost every single day, the way they stripped you of your humanity and turned you into a mindless test subject for whatever experiment they wished to carry out.
Then your thoughts drifted back to the night you'd been captured, the night you'd been freed and showed a new life. The night your saviors promised you a new life where you never needed to wort about any harm coming to you graciously clinged onto them and the little hope they gave you.
But something felt wrong.
You never felt truly free.
Instead you felt as if you were still caged and under their control.
Even if your life had been changed for the better they were still withholding s lot of things from you. So you made up your mind.
You'd start uncovering any and every secret they kept from you, whether it was for you own good or they just chose not to tell you.
And you started with the lonely grandfather clock stood in the middle of the hallway.
Anytime you questioned it they'd always change the subject and immediately try to steer you away from it. The one time you'd been close to figuring out what they kept in there you'd been stopped by you little brother Damian.
He'd always kept an irritated expression in his face when speaking to you but his actions always showed you that he was only putting it on for show.
So when he caught you trying to decipher the clock he'd quickly grabbed your arm with unbelievable strength and quickly pulled you away from the wall.
"Why do you want to know what goes on down there so badly" he immediately asked but then gave you no chance to answer the question.
"If you want to know so badly it's just the batcave, nothing special since you already know we're vigilantes"
Of course you'd already known they're secret since they were the ones who saved you but if they knew that then why were you still not allowed down there.
And that was the question you were going to answer tonight. So you waited till you knew atleast everyone was either out or in bed and snuck down the hallways until you came across the lonely grandfather clock.
Finally seeing the clock up close nearly made you second guess yourself. Why would you second guess your saviors when they were the ones who got you out of that mess.
It just felt so wrong but you always had a feeling that there was something they'd been keeping secret.
You could see it in the way they acted around you, always treating you as if you were a delicate toy that they just absolutely needed to keep away from the outside world so at least now you'd be one step closer to finding out why.
So you quickly set the clock to 10:48 and went inside before anyone could we you. Then you approached the large computer set in the middle of the cave ready to turn it on but it was already on.
Lighting up the entire cave with video feed from the hidden surveillance camera's around the manor, but instead of showing you the many rooms around the manor it showed you something rather bone chilling.
It showed you video feed of your bedroom.
Video feed of the room you thought was your private safe haven. A place to relax when the manor was just to much for you but instead it was being broadcasted onto the large computer kept only in the dark cave.
You honestly didn't know what to think.
It wasn't the first time in your life that you'd been watched as if you were nothing but entertainment but this time it was being done by the people you trusted.
If it weren't for the voice you heard coming from next to you you were pretty sure you would have fainted on the spot.
"Your not supposed to be down here (reader)" Damian stated, clearly ignoring the shock on your face.
"What is this" you immediately asked.
"I told the others that something like this would've happened but no one listens to me in this household" he started taking quick steps towards you but your body couldn't bring itself to react.
You'd already felt so relaxed and safe around these people that your body didn't even think of them as a threat.
But your mind was racing with thoughts like why would they do this or what would possess them to do something like this.
"Well talk about this tomorrow morning" he takes your hand and leads you back up those grand stairs you'd came down just a moment ago.
In that moment you allowed him to escort you back to your bedroom, you allowed him to grab you s glass of water and you drank it with no hesitation.
Welcoming the tired and dizzy feeling that came after drinking the small glass of water. Allowing yourself to quickly pass out under the watch of your supposed savior turned new captor.
âDamian Wayne x Child! Reader: Pillager of Artâ
(This is like a mini continuation of Damian x Reader: This Won't Do)
Your quickly shuffling down the hallway behind a clearly irritated Damian. He looked as if he was on the verge of slamming someone's head against a locker and knowing him he probably would.
Some idiot in his art class ripped up an art piece he'd been working on as a way to bully him but they don't know just what they got themselves in to.
"Calm down" you knew he wasn't gonna, it was his art piece after all. You'd just have to hope that some miracle occurs and he actually manages to stop himself.
"I'm trying to"
"Well try harder!" You huffed out.
You don't know how he managed to find out who it was because it only happened five minutes ago but whoever it was brought this upon themselves.
"So when you spot them just gimme the heads up and I'll hide around the corner" you stated. Just because he was willing to be suspended doesn't mean you were willing to be suspended with him.
He didn't seem to comprehend your words though because in the next few seconds he'd sped up his pace, grabbed the back of the poor soul's head and slammed it into the cold metal door of the locker.
Then he did it again
And again
And again, ouch!
You know what, this sucker stole some of your stuff a while back. Maybe you should get in on this to...
(Maybe you should stop picking up Damian's personality traits. )
A couple minutes later:
"Dami I'm pretty sure he's had enough" you state.
"Then why are you still beating him?" He'd already gotten his fair share of licks in and was just standing back against the locker watching.
"Because he stole my stuff!"
"Didn't you find your stuff in lost and found a couple days ago"
Then a long silence followed, briefly interrupted by the soft crying of the student beneath you.
"Oh yeah"
....
"So when I get suspended you won't tell your dad right?"
"Of course I won't, cause I'll be suspended with you"

Part 1 - Damian Wayne

"Damian, where's the reader?" Dick asked over the intercoms.
"With me" he simply responded.
"WHILE YOUR OUT ON PATROL?" Dick yelled into the speakers.
You were currently next to your big brother, tiny legs dangling off the building while you played with one of Damian's fake batterangs.
Your cheeks were puffed up, the lollipop you'd been given earlier was obviously to big to fit in your mouth but they just loved seeing you greedily shove in your mouth. It was truly a sight to see.
"Where are you two right now" Dick asked again over the intercoms.
"And why would I tell you" Damian could feel the irritation seeping in.
"Dami can I have another one?" You interrupted the two, words coming out as a jumbled mess. The lollipop mixed with your already incomprehensible sentences making it hard for anyone to understand you but Damian knew better.
He was already well versed in terms of understanding you which is why he always thought he deserved to spend more time with you but the others didn't think so.
Whenever he looked at you, his only other blood relative he'd feel himself relax a little. Maybe it was because you were naive enough to willingly spend so much time with him, not knowing the real danger he posed to you or anyone around you.
And he was glad for that little naivety.
"Another lollipop or-" he pulled out another fake batterangs. He kept them on hand in case he ever decided to take you out with him, knowing that the fake weapons were one of your favorite toys to okay with.
You immediately perked up from your spot beside him, reaching your hands out towards him and taking the toy from him.
"Thank you" you smiled up at him, placing the other toy in your lap so you could play with the one he have you.
But then the toy slid off, the texture of your clothes allowing it to slide off your lap with ease towards the dark streets below you.
"Oh no" you let out a quiet gasp before using your tiny arms to slide yourself off the side of the building. Falling after the little toy Damian had just given you.
"HOLY-"
"What happened?"
Dick awaited a response but instead heard a gust a wind flow through the intercom.
"Damian what happened?"
"THEY FELL DICK, HELP?"
"GO AFTER THEM WHAT ARE YOU SITTING AROUND FOR?"
"DONT YOU THINK IM TRYING?"
The intercoms went silent before a loud thud sounded through the speaker.
Yeah
...y'all were definitely screwed.
I love your toddler reader Batfam storyâs. I love them so much
I've been meaning to make more Toddler x Batfam but the writers block is killing me, also Thank You(â  â ââ âżâ ââ  â )â âĄ. I was starting to wonder if people really liked my stuff.
Holidays with the Waynes-â â ęą
"Why did the city give us fireworks?" Tim's gaze was trained onto the large box of fireworks placed on the front lawn of the manor.
Everyone was currently stood outside, relishing in the fact that the city was for once a quiet and peaceful place.
Nights like this were rare, especially on Holidays like this one. Everyone was trying to enjoy it to the best of their ability, including you.
You sat next to the large crate, a blue lollipop in one sticky hand while your other was struggling to wrap your tiny fingers around the lighted firecracker they'd given you earlier.
The strength in your arm was quickly waning away and all you could really do was watch as your arm slowly but awkwardly fall to the side, the weight of the firecracker becoming to much for your poor little arms to handle.
Since you were sat directly next to the large crate, the small sparks of fire that flew off the burning base of your cracker came into contact with the stem of the firework. Soon igniting the closest one to you.
Now you definitely didn't know how a firework worked at your age so the sight didn't alarm you at all.
With childlike wonder you watched as the pretty flame slowly burned the fibers of the stem, finding the dancing flame quite interesting at that moment in time.
"Father told us earlier, were you not listening?" Damian asked in an irritated tone of voice.
"Of course I heard him, all I'm saying is that this city doesn't need a bunch of supposedly airheaded celebraties setting off dangerous flaming objects on-" Tim little rant was cut off by an abrupt popping noise, followed by the familiar sound of his baby sibling's soft giggles.
Both their heads snapped to you immediately, in the short time they'd turned their heads away from you you'd somehow managed to light all the fireworks in that crate?? They looked at each other and for once they definitely knew that they were thinking the same thing.
'Who would give a toddler a mini firework?"
In their stupor the final firework in the crate ignited, causing the crate of fireworks to begin setting off right beside you.
The small sparks coming from the stems of the fireworks blazed the grass below, surrounding you in a small field of fire while you sat excited in the middle.
If those fireworks weren't setting off madly behind you in every which way they would have stopped to admire the wide toothless smile you'd had plastered onto your face.
They'd admire the way the fireworks reflected off your irises, the way the blazing flames seemed to fall so perfectly around you, surrounding you in its blazing heat and lastly they would have admired the way you sat so confidently in the blazing heat as if the sight of fire mixed with the atrocious sounds of the ignited fireworks didn't bother you at all.
They would've have admired all of that but instead they were running around like mad men.
The loud commotion summoning everyone in the area.
It didn't seem like their vigilante instincts had kicked in yet, their bodies being to relaxed by calmness from not to long ago to actually step in and help you. Instead they settled for freaking out and yelling at each other, trying to find out which one of them actually gave a toddler a mini firework.
"It seems holidays never do go well at the Wayne manor indeed" Alfred said from afar, a clicking sound resounding in the quiet, empty hallways of the Wayne manor.
This scene before him was much to beautiful for him to pass up the opportunity to photograph. Your beautiful smile was on display, how could he not take a picture?!
Of course he did this with no worry, already knowing that no one would ever allow the dancing flames to come any closer to you.
Let alone harm you.
No you were much to precious to them for them to allow that to happen...
Retired Villain
(â  ŕšBatfam X Reader - Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne and Tim Drakeďžâ âĄÂ â )
Masterlist
â You'd put your reckless lifestyle behind in favor of living a boring civilian life, knowing that you wouldn't get anywhere in life if you kept getting beaten up and sent to jail over and over like it was the only thing life had to offer.
You thought that putting your past behind you and creating yourself a fresh start would finally put the bats off your trail...
But sadly for you, it had only taken your cities vigilantes about two weeks to find out where you lived.
Even though they'd found out where you lived and how you'd decided to turn your life around they didn't believe it.
And instead of taking the information at face value they'd decided to check up on you in person.
And that they did.
Now you would've thought that they'd leave you alone after just the first few times but no, they'd started popping up everywhere. Using the excuse of your old atrocities to monitor you almost every waking moment of the day.
And when I say every I mean every.
Your at the supermarket, buying food like everyone else and Nightwing just randomly shows up out of nowhere. Bugging you and using the excuse of monitoring you to justify his presence.
"I know times are dire but stealing milk from the supermart?" you could see his outline in your peripheral, propping himself up against the fridge next to you.
He's shaking his head playfully before moving to take your cart away from you. You knew he was aware that you weren't gonna steal anything but apparently teasing you was his new favorite hobby.
"For the last time, I'm not stealing anything from this store" you huffed before dumping the carton of milk into the cart he'd taken from you.
"This store, so how about the next one?"
You could already feel the gray hairs sprouting, it was like he was sucking all the energy out of you and you could do nothing about it.
Well, at least he helped you with the shopping right?
While your on your way making your way to work one of the Robins will just mysteriously appear next to you, specifically the youngest one. Always giving off a clear air of distaste towards your entire being but still accompanying you on your way to work.
"Don't you have school kid?" you ask, it was like nine in the morning and he was casually walking next to you as if he didn't have somewhere to be right now.
"I don't need to go to school, besides I'm stuck monitoring criminals like you" he stated and you could already feel him drilling holes into the side of your head.
This kid really has no chill...
"Well if it makes you feel any better I also don't like having people watch me 24/7" you could feel your shoulders sag at the thought of having to put up with the bat and his tiny army of children.
Even when you were simply relaxing in your humble abode they'd still had the audacity come ruin your little alone time.
You were just relaxing in your pyjamas, munching on some popcorn and enjoying the fact that for once you were finally all by yourself when suddenly a figure hauls themselves over the edge of your window sill and crashes onto the floor of your apartment.
Of course your quick to push yourself off your couch and grab a weapon from the hidden compartment in your chair only to realize that your intruder was just another one of batman's minions.
"Red, you can't be serious" you immediately drop you weapon and walk over to his crumpled form.
He looked like he just went through hell, which was pretty sad since you knew he was just a kid on the inside but batman's sidekicks always seemed a little on the younger side.
"Are you crashing for the night?" He'd already done this before, always denying the fact that he was staying the night but always ends up staying anyway.
"No, I'm not" he muttered to himself, crumpling even more into himself but flinching when one of his wounds comes into contact with his detached gear.
"Right, your monitoring me" you played along, allowing him to believe that he was leaving anytime soon but you could already see his body relaxing it self.
"By the way, your crashing on the couch Tonight" you'd at least allow him to stay somewhere in your house, knowing that the supposed 'Batcave' that they always spoke about was somewhere on the other side of Gotham.
He should be lucky that he's your favorite, because ain't no way were you allowing any of the other bats anywhere near your house. Let alone inside of it.âŁ
Random Ideas I've Had For Batfam
Writer's block is the only reason I've yet to post any of them
1) Idol! Reader x Batfam
This is one of my newest ones, where basically the reader would be a tired, overworked idol in an industry full of talent. Their attention span would be that of a goldfish so in order for batfam to get them to actually relax and take some time off (which they can't do any of that but whatever) the batfam would use their attention span against them.
Leading them away slowly but surely from the toxic idol life and instead trying to get them back into the real world.
2) Batfam x Reader - The bats are from a different universe
Where basically reader lives in a universe where heroes don't exist and one day they phase into reality. Coming out of nowhere and for some reason no one is questioning a single thing.
Almost everyone you know has these alrmtered memories of those vigilantes or villains and you just can't seem to understand how the world changed so drastically over night.
You somehow gain their attention, you know from nearly freaking out every time their in your proximity (as vigilantes) or when you start noticing the questionable things occurring in your universe
Like ripples in time, or holes in the ground that when looking inside of it lead to another universe. The world eventually ends with only you and the vigilantes being left and you start to put it all together.
(Basically its kinda was supposed to be like Rick and Morty, where if they destroy their own universe they just skip to another one and in the end they end up having to take the reader with them)
3) Batfam x Five Hargreeves! Reader
Long and short of the story, your an overworked sidekick. Batman seems to have this idea that your the key, that your powers would be extremely useful in his nightly crusades so he trains you. Day after day your worked to the bone and then you snap.
Why can all the other kid sidekicks get to live their lives as normally as possible but your stuck training day after day to do something you don't even want to do? Your muscles are screaming and your on the verge of passing out from all the strain your training had on your body so when your desperate, tired mind comes up with a way to put all of this to a stop you decide to do it.
You use your powers to send yourself into the future, thinking that it will permanently separate you from your daily hell... and it did, just not how you were expecting it to.
(Then basically you return to the past and in the same body you left in with the mission of saving the world, the batfam slowly uncover your secrets and after a while confront you about it.) Like about how you were an assassin
4) Damian Wayne x Child! Reader
Funny idea I got from a tiktok audio where reader is a church girl and they meet Damian during morning mass. He's covered in blood, clearly looks like he'll jump at the next thing that moves in his peripheral but your a kid, you don't care.
You immediately become friends (that's how you see it in your mind) sneaking him out of the church while your parents aren't looking because he asked you to, well more like demanded you to but a friend is a friend. He'll keep secretly inviting you out, somehow finding your parent's house and showing up in the middle of the night to whisk you away.
Not for the purpose of hanging out. No no no, your his cover. He camouflages well when your around, your bubbly, childlike demeanor hiding his intense and dark intentions. And that's a good thing when it comes to his missions, his mother doesn't seem to care about your presence in his life so for now he'll just keep you around.
Your parents are a bit apprehensive about your friendship with him and only when they find out that Damian is Bruce Wayne's son is when they finally accept your friendship. (After Damian meets Bruce)
They finally allow you to hang out with him and you finally get to meet his "irritating" siblings that he for some reason always goes on about and they're just staring at you like.
How did you become friends with their rat of a brother?
A little dialogue I had:
"How did you meet our brother?" Dick's trying to seem as sweet as possible but your entire outfit could light up an entire city, your parents have you dressed like a disco ball and it's not doing you any favors.
And you know, these nocturnal vigilantes aren't really used to such bright light.
"I met Dami while I was in church" you answer sweetly, it's clear that the difference between the two of you is night and day which us honestly a breath of fresh air.
"Oh really...?" Dick's smile tenses, I mean who would expect Damian to go to church, let alone be at least 15 feet near one.
"I was there to kill the pastor" he just simply states.
"You were there to kill the what?!" Boom, reality shattered. Innocence gone, now you know why you haven't been seeing Pastor Malcom as of late.
Pinky Promise - Damian Wayne x Reader !Soulmate AU
~ where your birthmark is where you'll first touch your soulmate ~
A pinky finger is an odd place to have a soulmate mark. Most people had full hands, a set of lips marked on their cheek, or a hand print on their hip. Yet yours was just the length of your left hand pinky finger.
No matter, you'd had the habit of locking pinky's with people since you were born. Call it natural habit or a desperation to link fingers with your soulmate, it was your thing.
So when you started your internship at the Bludhaven Police Department Sheriff's office and got finger printed you didn't think anything of it when officer Grayson paused on your last finger.
"This your soulmate mark?" he gestured to your pinky, which was darker than the rest of your skin colour.
"Funny right! Just the pinky. Most people have normal ones! Where's yours? Wait. Is it on your lips?" you glanced up at the officer with a grin as he flushed.
"We all meet our soulmates in strange ways." he mumbled with a smile.
"Truth or dare? Or Suck and Blow? It had to be a party game right?" you leaned in as Officer Grayson pressed your pinky into ink.
"It was more of a greeting, she's not from around here so it was her way of saying hello." he stated, eyes twinkling with a familiar joy. God you wanted that. He continued, "I'll tell you, I know a kid with a pinky mark too. Cant remember which hand though. I'll bring him in soon, though neither of you seem like each other's type." you noticed his brows furrowed thinking about the "kid" he mentioned.
"Bring him in like, a bad guy? Not sure that's my type! I'm just here to learn about forensics!" you giggled. The officer just shook his head and told you to go start reviewing the steps to finger print collection and storage. Sounded super fun and interesting (not).
Turns out there's a lot to learn about crime forensics. By the end of the day you had a backpack full of materials to study on your transit ride back to Gotham. Hiking up fire escapes to the top of your apartment building, you decided to study via the lights from the top of your building. Nothing like the haze of Gotham to comfort you through pages of reading.
"Glad to see you're back." A familiar voice chided from your side.
"C'mon, you're excited to see me!" you grinned into the darkness, willing the shadowy figure to come forward. Like usual, he did.
"Good to see you, Robin." you waved with a teasing smile as he visibly shook his head.
"Can't say the same Y/N. I had more peaceful nights when you weren't here. What's got you up late this time?" he grumbled, keeping his distance as you held up your bunches of papers exclaiming "studying! Always studying."
"And you can't do that from the safety of your apartment?" he questioned. You shook your head no in response. "Need I remind you of the multiple times I've had to throw people off this balcony for you?" he yawned, gesturing to the ledge of the rooftop.
"Aren't I so lucky you're protecting me!" you teased. He wasn't wrong, sketchy people had on more than one occasion lurked on top the Gotham's tallest buildings, but you enjoyed the view and trusted Robin far too much to change your place of comfort.
"Protecting Gotham." he retorted, moving towards the rooftop to jump towards a night full of crime fighting. You never tried to stop him from leaving, you still thought it was insane that he even paused to talk to you, so you just waved and watched as he launched into darkness. Curling back up with your notes you appreciated the blanket of safety his presence had placed on you.
~
"Damian I'm telling you she has the mark on her pinky!" Dick screeched, chasing after Damian who was not willing to hear anything he had to say. "What do I care Grayson? I don't want a soulmate, I'm busy," he retorted, cascading through the batcave to get away from Dick's prying eyes.
"Just let me see! I wanna know!" Dick cried but Damian had already slammed his door closed.
"Word on the street is Dames found a rooftop girl. You didn't hear it from me though." Tim called from the adjacent room. The two were usually stuck on patrol together so it did make sense. But Dick still couldn't believe it.
"Which goddamn rooftop." Dick's voice was a low hum, the determination dripping from his tongue. He had a theory.
~
"Morning Officer Grayson!" you called down the hallways of the BPD office. You'd finally gotten a full night of sleep last night because you had finished studying a couple days ago, free from the piles of work. Your morning glee quickly dissipated when you were promptly handed a stack of papers and binders.
"You're doing great work, so we're moving you up to sample analysis. Lots of reading for ya!" the officer sounded congratulatory as he handed you the piles of paperwork. You couldn't deny, this was what you wanted, but it was definitely more work than you could do in one day. Needless to say, you hoped you'd get to see a familiar bird brain that night.
~
Cozying up on the rooftop you were so deep into the inner-workings of a microscope you hardly noticed the shadowy figure that had appeared across from you.
"Studying again are we?" Robin's snarky voice made you jump, eyes snapping to his face. "Tons of work! Calls for an all nighter, what about you?" you simply replied.
"Patrol." His response was curt but you wanted more this time.
"What after? Tell me- what does a hero do in his free time?" you leaned in with a teasing smile. To your surprise Robin leaned back against the railing and responded "I like to draw." Giving you more of a key into him than you'd ever gotten.
"I'm a terrible artist but I bet you're amazing! Keen eyes and steady hands always make for good art. You should show me sometime! If you want!" you rambled with a grin. You figured it would be an automatic no, but the corner of his mouth twitched up, almost like a smile as he said, "maybe I will." Something blossomed in your chest.
"Well, you're always welcome here! Like, all night. It's brutal." you joked, gesturing at the piles of papers in your lap.
"I may just take you up on that, my brother has been overwhelmingly obnoxious at home. Have a good night." Robin muttered as he left over the rooftop railing once again. You smiled to yourself, he likes to draw and he has a brother? Fascinating.
You were practically asleep in your notes when you felt something bump into your chest. A surprisingly elegant paper airplane. From the shadows you could see Robin sitting across from you, back against the rooftop railing, a notepad and pencil in his arms as he starred up at you.
"What? You were practically snoring." he said matter-of-factly.
"For the record, I do not snore. Also, how'd you make this? It's beautiful!" you exclaimed, delicately holding up the paper airplane to appreciate the little curves of the thick paper.
"I was into origami for a while. It's almost mathematical, very satisfying." his reply was short again, seemingly focused on the sketching at hand. So you fell into silence with him, focusing up on your note taking.
You didn't exactly notice the sun starting to rise. It was hard to see in Gotham, smog and all, but the inkling of light from the hazy sky gave you a clearer picture of the boy wonder then you'd ever gotten.
It felt strange but he was gorgeous. Silky black hair tousled from running his hands through it in between pencil scratches, when he was focused he bit the inside of his cheek, eyebrows knit into determination. You appreciated the reds and yellows of his costume, noting the various weapons hitched across his body. But the rest was hidden. Whether behind his domino mask, his suit, or his silence.
"It's rude to stare at a working artist" he grumbled, chin tilting up to show that his eyes were meeting yours.
"You've never stayed this long." you replied breathlessly. Squirming in your chair, knowing that you couldn't get any closer without him running off.
"Your presence isn't, unbearable, for what it's worth." his voice was so low but you could hear the sincerity in his voice. "Same to you." you whispered back, letting your tired eyes drift back to your notes which were pretty much done. It was an all nighter after all.
It felt like a few minutes but the billowing light from the rising sun told you it had been longer, and your head was severely drooping into your lap. "Y/n, you need sleep. Go to bed," his voice was warm but stern, enough to get you to lazily collect your papers and stand up with a yawn.
"Well! Thanks for hanging with me!" deliriously you held out your fist, Robin tilted his head to the side in confusion. You chuckled, "it's a fist bump dumbass." And to your surprise he closed the distance between the two of you, and slowly touched his knuckled to yours. His gloves were cold but you were focused on the fact that you were just inches from the boy wonder.
But a few seconds was all you got to realize how much taller he was than you before he melted back into the shadows. You stood stunned for a moment before stumbling back to your apartment, desperate for sleep.
~
"You look like hell kid" Officer Grayson greeted you with a questioning look as you waved him off of you. "Your fault for giving me hours of reading buddy." He grinned glancing down at the now filled notebook you'd brought to work. "You actually look dead kid, on lunch break we'll grab coffee," you rolled your eyes at his promise but knew you needed the caffeine.
Getting to know Officer Grayson, Dick, was surprisingly rewarding. He had years of experience and hundreds of stories that had you folded over from laughter. But there was something you were begging to learn more about, someone rather.
"Have you worked with Robin much?" your question broke the calm silence. Dick's eyes shone with some sort of pride, "I have, yeah. Good kid. Cold as hell but a damn good hero." and you nodded in reply, although cold wasn't exactly the way you'd describe Robin.
Dick's eyes lit up at something behind you, he shot up out of his cafe chair and said "look what the cat dragged! Glad to see you lil bro!" A loud enough exclamation that you turned around and locked eyes with a boy with jet black hair and piercing green eyes. The boy stood stunned at the door, starring at you and Dick before slowly approaching, eyes trained to yours before Dick pulled him into a hug. Immediately, he pushed himself out of Dick's embrace with a scowl, you couldn't help but grin at the reaction.
"Y/N meet Damian, Dames this is Y/N she's an intern at the office! Damian has classes over here so I figured we'd catch him during our break!" Dick babbled as he forcefully guided Damian into the seat next to him. Damian looked almost stunned, eyes flicking between you and his brother.
You broke Dick's rambling saying "Hi! You're a student too?" and he nodded slowly, glancing between you and Dick. "Studying what?" you tried to guide the conversation but he interrupted:
"You live in the area?"
"Nope, Gotham."
"Oh, me too." was all Damian muttered before his name was called, and he shot up, mumbling a "nice to meet you" and giving Dick another glare. Dick just grinned in response and the two of you soon headed back to the office.
~
"You had no right to do that!" Damian's roar was echoing in the cave that night. He'd just finished throwing almost everything on his person at Dick who was still uncontrollably laughing.
"C'mon Dames, were you just gonna visit your soulmate every once and a while on a rooftop for the rest of your life? Make a move lil bro. You're Bruce's kid you've got to have some game!" Dick teased back before a stray batarang was lobbed towards him.
"I've got it handled." Damian retorted angrily.
"Fine. fine. But blame Tim cuz he's the one who snitched on the rooftop hookups." Dick cooed before ducking out of the room to avoid further assault. Another screech filled the cave.
~
A few nights later, you were perched on the rooftop once again. This time you didn't have nearly enough work, but were hoping a certain distraction would stick around this time.
And he did.
"Hey" his voice was soft, and your head rose from your book to smile into the shadows.
"Hi! Whatcha got?" you noticed the silhouette was holding something.
"Come see." you could hear his chest rumbling. You felt like you were floating towards the thick railing of the rooftop.
And there he was again. Holding a sketchpad.
"You brought drawings!" you cooed, grinning as he inched closer, leather gloves flipping pages as you drank in the beautiful sketches, watercolours, and poems that filled the pages.
"What do you think?" he whispered, you swore warmth was vibrating off of him, just a few inches away from each other.
"They're beautiful" you quietly replied. He flipped another page, and it was a pencil sketch of you half asleep in your studies, on the rooftop. "From the other night!" you giggled, delicately tracing the sketch with your pinky. Robin drew a sharp breath, loud enough that your eyes were drawn up to his domino mask.
"I've got one more sketch to show you. But, I fear you won't like it." his head dropped slightly, his gloved hand toying with the bottom of the paper, as if debating whether or not to flip it.
"I'll be okay! Promise." you nudged his shoulder, holding up your pinky, a true promise, and a dangerous solution to the question making you dizzy standing next to him.
He shook his head, "look first, promise after" to which you nodded, dropping your hand and eyes to the paper.
As the page turned, you couldn't help but gasp. On the last page of the sketchbook, in the most intricate detail, were two hands. Pinky's locked.
"Take your glove off." you shot your gaze back to the hero.
"Wait." he took a step back.
You took one forward, reaching for the glove yourself.
Back again. "Y/N, wait." you froze at your name on his tongue.
"You and I both know what's under my glove, but I'm giving you an out. I've sat here for months thinking about doing this, wanting to do this. But, you deserve someone who doesn't throw their life away, who can be there for you, someone who isn't... isn't me" he gestured to his outfit, stocked with weapons.
"Who can be there for me? You've protected me more than anyone else in my life. Someone who deserves me? I'm not a trophy, I'm, I'm your soulmate."
"I know, but-" he began but you weren't finished:
"All I deserve, is someone who can love me. Can you do that?" you closed the distance, and he didn't back away.
"It's all I've ever done." he whispered. Delicately, you reached for his hand. He let you draw it from his side, holding desperately still as you peeled the glove from his left hand. And there, in the same pattern as yours, stood his mark.
"You promise?" you gave a small smile, holding up your pinky for the final time.
"Always." he closed the distance, locking your hands together as a warmth like you'd never felt spread through your hand, dancing up your arm, and bursting in your chest.
"Oh my god do you feel that?" you asked breathlessly, your right hand touching your chest.
He nodded, letting your hands drop as his right hand tilted your chin up, your eyes once again meeting a mask.
"I never thought I'd ever do this" his voice was soft, drinking in your closeness to him.
"I would've found you" you said with a grin, you had always had the sixth sense that Robin's visits to your study sessions were more than patrol.
He scoffed, "yeah my brother was gonna make sure of it."
"Your brother?" you dug deeper, fighting the itch to reach up for the mask he wore, your heart begging to see his eyes.
You felt him tug his pinky from yours, "I suppose a promise is a promise." he reached up for you, pulling the mask from his face as familiar green eyes met yours.
"Oh. My god." your jaw dropped, fitting the puzzle together.
"I guess the universe decided I was taking too long and put Richard Grayson on job. I must apologize for the coffee shop, I wasn't expecting to see my Gothamite soulmate seated across from my brother, in Bludhaven. " he sighed, eyes twinkling. You laughed in agreement.
"Quite the wingman" you mused.
Damian nodded, closing the distance as he said "don't ever tell him, but I'm thinking he was right all along" before pressing his lips to yours.
~
Weeks later you were far less sleep deprived, still loving your job in Bludhaven. Especially because a certain student was always waiting to pick you up for the ride home.
"Hi Dames!" you strolled up to your now boyfriend, pressing a kiss to his cheek while he locked your pinky in his, the two of you strolling towards the cafe that has become your shared favorite place. Settling down in a booth, you both fell into routine: sketching and studying while enjoying the other's presence.
A crazy few weeks, a huge change to your life, but a good one nonetheless. You had to hand it to-
"I knew you lovebirds would be here!" The bell on the cafe door rang, drawing you and Damian out of your focus. Damian rolled his eyes with a scoff and you gave Dick a wave.
Dick was stroll strutting around, "call me cupid the way I matched you two up!" he crooned.
Damian dryly replied, "Richard we are quite literally soulmates." but the oaf wasn't listening, too busy pretending to shoot you both with an invisible bow "cupid style".
You smiled to yourself, if only Dick knew how grateful you and Damian were to have each other... thank to him.

Damian doesn't notice at first.
He didn't notice how he started looking out for you on that crowd of students, or how he began to find new topics to discuss with you.
He never notice how he would steal glances at you, or how sweety his palms felt when you were around.
He didn't notice until after he almost beat a boy up because he was trying to get your biology project topic.
God, he was so stupid.
"He started it, (y/l)." He mutters, looking down at his shoes.
You sigh and put a hand over your forehead, "I know. But you could've talked to Ms. Halle, Damian."
"I fight my own battles." He spits, raising his chin, "I do not need the help of a teacher."
"You were going to punch him because he got our subject." You deadpan, rolling your eyes. Putting an accusing finger on his chest, you say angrily, "I'm gonna go solve this. You stay here."
Damian watches as you turn around and stalks towards the classroom again and feels his face flush a deep scarlet red, and not because he was angry.
And just like that, Damian Wayne realized he was head over heels for you.
_______________________II_______________________
"Richard, Cassandra, I request your help. Now." Damian says, grabbing both of his siblings arms and fleeting to his room, ignoring the weird glance his father gave them.
"Hey, what is going on, Little D?" Dick asks, receiving a nod from Cassandra when the three entered the youngest room.
Damian just shoves both inside, quickly locking the door behind them. The boy just stands there for a minute, a hand on the round hand as he tries to calm his rapid breathing.
"Baby brother?" He hears his older sister calls out and suddenly he turns around to face both.
"I have been... Compromised."
"What?" Dick inquires, stepping closer to him, "What happened? Are you okay?"
"Of course I am not!" The younger groans, "I don't even know how it happened!"
Cassandra tilts her head and scans him from head to toe, "What happened?"
"I almost punched someone-" Damian starts, ignoring Dick frown, "I was just trying to help and then she- she started telling me off! And my face started to burn and my heart started to beat faster and- I'm so stupid, how didn't I notice it before?"
"You have a crush." Cassandra states, crossing her arms.
"I do not have a crush!" Damian stomps, feeling his face flush again. He turns his eyes to his feet, then to his siblings, "I don't do I?'
Dick stares at him for a few moments and a gentle smile creeps onto his lips, "You do."
Damian freezes, his heart skipping a beat.
This can't be happening. No. Fucking. Way.
"Are you gonna do anything about it?" His sister asks and he finds himself without an answer.
"I don't know. Should I?" Damian replies and frowns, "I don't- I don't even know if she interested on me."
"I think you should." Dick nods again, "How will you know if you don't even try."
Cassie hums in agreement and brings a hand to ruffle the boy's curls, "Do something. I feel like you will have a surprise."
Damian glances between two and feels himself nod, a determined expression painted creeping on his face, "Yeah, okay. I need to go search for a flower shop."
_______________________II_______________________
Damian felt his hands start to tremble as he spotted you at the end of the hallway.
The, rather comically, large bouquet of red tulips feels suddenly heavy on his hands.
Closing his eyes, Damian breaths heavily and mutters to himself, "Okay, okay, I can do this."
He walks towards you with quick steps, taps your shoulder lightly and when you turn around he shoves the bouquet on your face.
Looking at the bouquet and then back up at him, you ask puzzled, "Um, hi."
"Hey." He replies, still looking down.
"What is, um, this?"
"For you." He frowns and finally looks up at you, "You don't like them?"
"I- I do." You say, a small smile creeping on your face as you gently grab the flowers. Bring them towards your nose, "They smell amazing, thank you."
Damian glances up at you, a blush covering his cheeks, "You're welcome."
"So, is something going on?" You ask, tugging a strand of your hair behind your ear, "Not that I don't like them, I just- This is kinda random."
"I... came to a realization yesterday." He breaths out.
"And that is.." You prompt him to continue.
"I like you, (y/n)." He says, looking down again, "And I've been liking you for a very long time. You are sweet, and smart, and kind, and, with all due respect, the most beautiful person I have ever met, so, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm totally enchanted by you."
You stare at him, a blush rapidly creeping onto your face and the grip on the bouquet a tad harder, "Oh."
Damian sighs and meets your eyes again, "(y/n) (y/l), do you want to go on a date with me?"
You two stare at each other, both faces crimson red. You look down and let out a soft chuckle fall from your lips. Looking up again, you nod your head, "I'd love to go on a date with you."
Damian shoulders fall from relief and he smiles, "Perfect."
"Perfect." You repeat, and tilt your head again, "And just for the record, I like you too."
Damian comes home that afternoon with a smile on his face and if he saw Richard and Cassandra giving each other a fist bump, he doesn't say anything.
Like a lamb led to slaughter (my heart held in your hands)
carry me slowly, my sunlight (these colours, they fade for you only) - series masterlist here

pairing: damian wayne x reader (gender neutral)
length: 1.7k
genre: fluff? angst? kinda hurt/comfort?
warnings: this is the enemies part of the enemies to lovers so they're kinda mean and hateful, reader pulls a knife on damian at the beginning but it's pretty chill, also angsty ending in this but future parts where they're together and in love are already up and in my masterlist <3
a/n: enjoy xoxo

Damian pauses, holding his breath as the knife that's been suddenly pressed against his throat gets pressed a little harder. The wind blows the sand around his feet gently and he listens, straining for a hint as to who his attacker is.
"Damian Al Ghul, caught by surprise⌠you're getting slow," your voice makes him relax - much to his annoyance, his jaw clenching as he exhales slowly. You pull the knife away from him, ignoring the small trickle of blood that runs down his neck as you stand in front of him.Â
"You shouldn't be here," he snaps harshly.
"Neither should you," you quip back.
"This is my -"
"For now," you interrupt, your grin wicked. "This war of ours isn't over yet, Al Ghul. I wouldn't claim the winning prize for yourself just yet - not when you're the one who's been caught off guard." Damian's fists clench, his eyes hard as he stares at you through the darkness of night, the stars dripping pinpricks of light onto the two of you.
"This is League territory. You are outcast. You're not welcome here, and neither are any of the others who follow you," he says viciously. You smile.
"So sure I won't beat you still," you say, a mocking edge in your voice that makes him huff. "So sure it'll be you leading the League one day, and not me."
Damian doesn't bite back, though. He opens his mouth to, but then seems to think better of it, opting instead to step away from you and plant himself on the sandy ground while the clouds part, the moon shining through. You think you hear him muttering, "why don't you just kill me and get it over with, then?"
You blink at his behaviour, following him cautiously and standing in front of him, blocking the light of the moon and shrouding him in darkness where he's sitting, knees pulled up to his chest.
"What's wrong with you?" You ask, toeing at his side with your shoe, jostling him slightly. He just clenches his fists tighter.
"You're blocking out the sky," he says bitterly. "And you stabbed me." You arch a brow.
"You're stargazing now? How novel. And I didn't stab you - don't be dramatic. It was just a little cut⌠you've given me worse," you point out.
"You deserve worse," he snaps. You straighten back and away from him, moving to let the light of the moon shine down on him as you sit next to him.
"You know I'd never kill you on a night like this," you say, a softness in your voice that makes you both queasy. You feel the weight of the knife in its sheath against your leg and press your hand to it. You could try to kill him - you probably should. God knows there are enough people waiting for you to.
"Not enough of an audience?" Damian says dryly. You kick a pile of sand near your foot.
"Why didn't you fight back? You could just as easily try to kill me tonight. But you wouldn't because we've been at this far too long to let it end in private⌠just the two of us." The end of your sentence is murmured, your eyes trained on his face while he stares up at the night sky. It takes him longer than you'd like for him to tear his gaze away from the full moon and look back at you, the light shining on one half of his face while the other now sits in shadow. You imagine you look much the same, half bathed in light, half shrouded.Â
"What do you think will happen?" His question finally cuts through the silence. "When one of us finally kills the other." You pull your hand away from your knife like it's burned you.Â
"When I kill you?" You say haughtily. "The League will be mine."
"And when I kill you?" Damian snaps back. You seem to mull over your answer for a moment too long, Damian huffing and turning back up to the sky.
"Then you win," you say quietly. "And you're rid of me." Something in your heart twinges at that and you grit your teeth.
"What would I do?" He says it so softly you're sure you wouldn't hear him if you hadn't spent so many years learning him. You fix him with a hard look, but he keeps his eyes pointedly on the stars and not at you. "What would I do without you?"
"What would I do without you?" Your response is so wavering and hushed that you think he must have missed it. It must have simply been caught in the wind and carried away to somewhere where the two of you could be anything other than what you are now. The way Damian turns to look at you, eyes wide and vulnerable and hurting, tells you he heard you just fine.Â
"I don't want to kill you," he says it like kindness is a crime.
"You have to," you respond, like a lamb led to slaughter. "It's what we're made for, you and me. To be each other's end - each other's undoing. Only one of us is making it out of this alive." There's a weight in your words that goes unsaid. A part of me will die with you. Neither one of us will make it out of this and stay whole. A part of me belongs to you.
Damian stands suddenly, sand flying at where you sit as he shoots to his feet. You brush it off of you with a sigh and crane your neck to look up at him where he's standing tall, fists clenched and shoulders back, his feet planted firmly and holding him steady. You assume there's a determination in his eyes that you're intimately familiar with to go with his stance. He's blocked out the moon with his figure, leaving the two of you in shadow with a blinding halo around his silhouette, but you don't need to see his face to know what look he's wearing - you haven't needed to for a long time.
"There's a way around this, I'm sure," he says. You sigh and a breeze floats by, ruffling through him and into you. Your nose burns when you pick up the faintest whiff of his scent and you wonder, just for a moment, if he can detect the same from you⌠if he knows you the way you know him.
"You don't want that," you say flatly.
"Don't tell me what I want," he snaps back, voice hard. "You don't get to decide how this ends." You shoot up at his words, standing chest to chest with him, so close that you bump into each other.
"I decide just as much as you do." Your voice mimics the steel in his own. "This is about us, not you, and⌠and," whatever you were saying dies out as you look at Damian, his eyes staring back at you intensely. You hadn't really realized, in your anger and haste, how close to him you'd shoved yourself, but you can feel his breath on your skin and see the flecks of colour in his deep brown eyes.
"And⌠what?" He prompts, scowl still on his face. He seems to take no notice of the way his nose brushes against yours. That is, until your eyes flick down to his lips for a split second too long.
He lurches away from you, stepping back to create distance and holding a hand out in surrender, as if the close proximity to you just then had been more threatening than all the times you'd pointed a sword to his chest. The way your heart thumps behind your ribs and your breath catches, you're inclined to agree.
"I'm going to fix this," he says breathlessly.
"Fix what? There's nothing to fix, Damian." His name burns your tongue, like it's an intimacy you shouldn't indulge in. "There's nothing to fix. This is the way it's supposed to go."
"I won't kill you," he's all but yelling at you now. "And I won't let you kill me." You make the mistake of closing your eyes, hanging your head slightly and sighing as you prepare yourself for another fight. It's a moment of weakness that you would never allow in front of any enemy other than him - a moment of vulnerability that could cost you your life. But you hear it, ever so slightly, the whisper of him moving with a stealth that only the two of you know. By the time you open your eyes, he's gone.
You realize, in the days following the incident, that you'd never gone so long without seeing Damian before. At first, you were shoved against each other by your respective sides in never-ending fights to see who would triumph. Then, as time passed and the two of you grew, your skills matched and fights ending in draws over and over, you started seeking each other out on your own. To know your enemy, you'd always told yourself. You're sure he'd always tried to convince himself of the same.Â
But now? Now days have gone by without a whisper, without a flickering shadow or a hushed breath. Eventually, you go looking, silent and hidden and so desperately hopeful. But that's when you hear it - the rumours.
Damian Al Ghul is gone - gone to live with his father and train with him. He'll be back, you promise yourself. He'll come back to me.Â
But he doesn't. Time passes and he remains gone, the rumours spreading.
Damian Al Ghul has found a home beyond this war, beyond you. You're sure that only makes you so nauseous because now you'll never get the chance to kill him.
Damian Al Ghul has no interest in fighting a war that isn't his anymore, you hear. Damian Al Ghul has no need for a vicious prophecy or a never-ending rivalry. Damian Al Ghul has found a home, apparently, and it's somewhere far⌠far away from you.

âźď¸TWIN SHENANIGANSâźď¸
Platonic Damian Al Ghul-Wayne x Twin!Reader

Imagine having two demons that are from the league of assassinsâŚbut only one of them is a true menace to society while the other is just âŚnormal?
Two robins? Double trouble for Bruce because Damian is the older twin while you are the younger one. Of course you will follow him without a doubt.
You two paint, draw, and do anything together, itâs a nice sibling bonding. Sure what if Damian was a bit jealous and almost booby-trapped Dick when you started calling him âbrother.â So what?
You need help? Heâs helping you, not by just giving you straight up answers but mostly letting you understand.
Someone picks on you, immediately they have a bruised eye and lip. But thatâs when Damian is having a nice day though, if he isnât. He almost sent them to the hospital and got expelled.
Sometimes you two hold each other hands as if you both were the girls from âthe shiningâđ
When you canât figure out what outfit you want to wear, donât worry! Your twin Damian is gonna lay you out straight! He immediately makes you match with him as he smirks at you two looking the same.
You both do combo moves with each other. Literally training each other to see what moves you can pull off at the same time.
Tim was scared of you, like he personally thought you were gonna try and kill him only for you to make him a drawing and he immediately calmed down. That was until a certain demon popped up talking about âTwin, letâs go.â And you left. Making Tim confused before realizing twins existâŚman coffee was getting to his brain.
I wonât lie, Damian may be a small bully towards you. But when you cry, thatâs when he stops and show his soft side. You are his other part of him, it hurts to see you cry.
Literal definition of âonly I can mess with my siblingâŚâ

Ohh for the bird brains event, how about a meet-cute with Damian at a Wayne gala/charity event? Reader could be on the wait staff or a party guest, whichever you prefer!
this turned out kinda weird BUT iâma roll with it. i hope you like it babe!

bird brains writing event !!

this had been a good idea in theory.
youâd always wondered what the Wayne Charity Galas were likeâ of course, youâd always imagined seeing them through the eyes of a guest, and not a waitress serving drinks to the sloshed socialites. still, when your roommate told you sheâd gotten the job for the two of you, it had been hard to turn down. one of those opportunities that donât just fall out of the sky for everyone, and the lucky ones must snag them whilst they can.
however, you underestimated just how much booze the .1% could consume in an evening. traipsing back and forth across the ballroom in a constant duck and weave routine to avoid twirling couples, you would get to one side of the party, only to find your tray of champagne completely barren, and would have to trounce back into the kitchen for more.
and, of course, there was the uniform. you felt like a penguin, clad in a black and white romper that was so tight to your body it was giving you a perpetual wedgie. the neckline felt gratuitous in its dip, as did the sleek, black pumps that were murdering your poor feet.
moreover, you could feel a pair of piercing eyes on you every time you made another round. he was posted near the corner, arms crossed and had been wearing the same scowl since youâd first walked in. you knew who he was because of course you did, but you couldnât find the nerve to actually meet his gazeâ keeping your eyes fixed at the flutes balanced on your crystalline tray, instead. why was he glaring so hard? did you really look so out of place? or maybe it was the sheer ridiculousness of your outfit that he was looking at with disdain. but, if that were the case, why did you feel his stare on your face, as if he were trying to catch your gaze? moments felt like hours as you prayed the remaining glasses would disappear faster so you might have a reason to escape to the back again, but it seemed like Lady Luck was having too much fun in watching you stand there, blushing like a fool, trying not to look like you knew he was staring at you.
you fix your eyes to the dance floor, crowded with gorgeous women in gaudy gowns and dazzling jewels and their dapper companions, twirling and dipping them. it was almost like something out of a fairytale, a royal ball where every manâs suit probably cost more than your dented, little Camry parked outside. for a moment, you try to imagine what it might be like to be there, instead of on the sidelines, serving drinks. was it fun? freeing?
âDo you even know how to ballroom dance?â it was a curt question that comes from your left, cutting through your daydream and pulling you back to reality.
it takes you a moment to realize Damian had stepped up beside you, but now that you were aware of his closeness, you couldnât think of anything else. the warmth of his figure, the softness of his suit, and the hints of sandalwood and vanilla in his cologne. âUm⌠no, not really.â you replied, bashfully looking towards your feet, âJust what Iâve seen on, like, The Princess Diaries.â you tried to chuckle, to make a joke of it, but he didnât reciprocate. your awkward laugh hangs in the otherwise silent air and you force yourself not to roll your own eyes. what a lame attempt. you clear your throat, looking at your nearly empty tray. three left. just three.
âDance with me.â
three words that had you blinking incredulous, unsure if youâve heard him properly as your attention is directed towards him. heâs staring at you again, eyebrow quirked, both arms folded over his chest and his clear eyes were narrowed. did he look this angry all the time?
âWhat?â
âI donât like to repeat myself.â
blinking again, you zip your tiers for a moment, and thatâs when his hand stretches out, palm up, practically commanding you to take it. and you want to, but your hands are full. âIâ Iâm working.â you offer, sheepish, just as the last flute is plucked from your tray. youâre supposed to rush back and get another round, so you hug the tray close to your chest.
âClearly. But I didnât ask, did I?â
âWhat if I⌠get in trouble?â
Damianâs gaze hardened, his fingers barely twitching. âYou wonât.â
you look down at his hand, and then back up to his face, stoic and expecting you to accept, but you canât bring yourself to abandon a wage and make a fool of yourself in front of Gothamâs Elite. âIâm really sorry, Mr. Wayne. But I need to⌠uhâŚâ gesturing over your shoulder, you took a couple of steps back, bumping into a gentlemanâs back and sputtering an apology before you turned and hurried towards your roommate. maybe you could walk back with her. she sees you coming, a partial smile forming on her face until she sees the tense expression on yours. you grasp her arm pulling yourself close to her whilst your footsteps fall into a rhythm with her own.
âHey! Were you just talking to Damian Wayne?â she asks; she sounds starstruck at the mere prospect. âWhat did he say to you?â
you sighed, âHe⌠asked me to dance with him.â you pause, before shaking your head. âWell, demanded I dance with him, actually.â
her countenance screws into bemusement, âAnd you didnât?â
those three words made you feel ashamed; perhaps you shouldâve. you frown, indignant, and gesture to the tray in your hands. âNo, Iâm a little busy, remember?â
âYeah but, come on, you canât just reject Damian Wayne.â
why not? you wanted to ask. what the hell made him so special, other than his family name, anyways? what gave him the right to talk to anyone the way he did to you? you reach the door to the kitchen, only for her to stop in her tracks, putting a halt in your step as well.
âOh, my god, heâs coming over here!â
âWhat?â you donât look, you canât, because your face is already on fire with another blush.
âHeâs coming over here!â she repeats, giddy, and urges you to turn around. âGood evening, Mr. Wayne!â she gushes. you follow her lead, sheepishly glancing back up at him. his eyes are just as hard cut, as if carved from diamonds, and his brows are knit together. he doesnât even acknowledge your roommate, heâs much too busy glaring at you. making you feel two feet tall. you shrink beneath his stare.
you half expected him to tell you to get lost; after all, he couldâve kicked you out of the party, couldnât he? but, he doesnât. his hand shoots out, wrenching the tray from your grip with a swift snatch, and he tosses it on top of your roommateâs empty tray in her arms, which she catches and holds tight, watching with big eyes. your heart is beating like a drum, and you swear he can hear it. but Damian doesnât say a word. his stone features fixed on you, he grasps your wrist, tight, and drags you to the dance floor. he was determined to get this dance. you stumble along behind him like an uncertain puppy dog, looking around. âMister Wayne, I really shouldnâtâŚâ
âItâll only be one dance.â he says, matter of factly, pulling you close to his body. you hit his surprisingly solid chest with a huff of surprise, blinking. impressive.
âEveryoneâs staring at us.â you mumble, sheepish, feeling gazes of disapproval. you mustâve looked hilariously out of place out there, stumbling, clad in a serverâs pantsuit, amidst the modelesque women in their long gowns and sparkling gems.
âSo?â
âSoâŚâ you exhale, incredulously, âyou might be used to that but Iâm more of a fade in the background type of girl.â
Damianâs eyebrow arches, both hands firmly taking hold of your waist. âSo then only look at me.â he commands, and you find yourself compelled to obey, eyeline drifting back to his. you reach up, carefully bringing your hands together at the nape of his neck. âAnd let them fade into the background.â you give a little nod, and he takes the lead.
your steps are clunky at best, and the heels werenât helping, but instead of allowing yourself to overhear what the other guests had to say about your lack of skill, you simply watched Damian. his eyes would lock with yours every now and then, but mostly he studied your face, as if examining every pore. you noticed he didnât even flinch when you stepped on his toes, which you did quite a bit. âSorry.â you whisper, face heated.
âI knew you couldnât dance already,â he replies, almost flippant.
âThen why did you want toââ
âBecause youâre the only one here I want to dance with.â Damian cuts you off, holding you close to his body. whilst the other couples had fallen back into their own waltz, and their partners twirled them, you noticed Damian was holding you too tight to do that. as if he didnât want to let you go, even for a second. âIf that means you trip over my feet a little, Iâm willing to deal with it.â
it takes you a moment to realize your mouth is hanging open, and you close it promptly, feeling flushed. what could you say to that?
âI kinda feel like Iâm one wrong step away from breaking my ankle in these things.â you admit halfhearted, glancing towards your feet. whilst his move with such certainty, yours are awkward and unsteady. you give a little, awkward chortle.
Damian leans closer to you, so close that you could feel his breath on your cheeks. âI wonât let you fall. Iâve got you.â
there was something about him that was oddly charming. sure, he was incredibly blunt and, honestly, pretty rude, but when he ensured that heâd keep you upright, you believed him. and you felt a wave of relief washing over you. you hug closer to him, giving in to the urge to rest your cheek against his chest while you sway in tandem. his heartbeat was steady; in contrast to your thumping one, he seemed cool and collected. you wished he could give you pointers.
âWhat happens when the song ends?â you ask, almost fearful to do so. this already felt like some lucid dream that you might wake up from at any moment, the last thing you wanted to do was hurry it along. âWill you still have me?â
for a moment, Damian says nothing. his fingers lock at the small of your back, his chin resting atop the crown of your head. finally, when youâre ready to kick yourself for asking, he responds. âYes. For as long as I can.â
Auburn Traditions (Damian Wayne x Reader)
summary: After your wedding, Damian spends the night finding his name in your bridal henna. In the safety of your presence, he can share his true feelings to you. word count: 1,550~ warnings: none Special thanks to @quillsareswords for bouncing ideas around until this fic was born. I am soft for this man. This is the mushiest thing I've written in so long. Literally kicking my feet writing this.
It came as no surprise when Damian popped the question.Â
You two flourished beside each other, growing individually in the comfort of each otherâs embrace. For years you stood beside Damian. Through high school you helped him study every exam season, said quick greetings in the halls, and even helped him find all his classes his first year. In college you motivated him through finals, went to every pesky orientation, and cheered the loudest when he walked across the stage one final time.Â
Almost in tandem, Damian returned the favor. He asked you to Prom your senior year, holding up a shy bouquet of flowers and a corsage. He attended every performance of yours, big or small, because the mere presence of him was more support than you could ever wish for. Damian dragged you to bed on long nights and held you through so many tough ones, never letting go through it all.Â
You moved out together years later after you found the perfect forever home and finally made it yours. The walls were painted deep into the night, muted tones swiped onto his nose only for him to fling it back at you. Together, Christmas lights were hung across the house year after year as you danced to the upbeat tunes in your own living room while the fireplace warms you up after a long day in the snow.Â
So when Damian kneeled before you, his heart pouring out of his chest as he spoke words of reflection and his own green eyes shining with affection, you had to say yes. A year of bliss with Damian Wayne, your fiancĂŠ, soon to be husband. You carved out a section of this chaotic world and made it your own, a section full of adoration and unwavering love.Â
The wedding night was one to remember. It was an extravagant night filled with family, music, and laughter. Damian couldnât keep his eyes off his bride for very long, far too many of the wedding photos showed Damianâs soft gaze towards you.Â
Your vows were heartfelt and private, opting to say your true feelings in the comfort of each other and no one more. Damian Wayne, the man of very few words, had the most poetic words fall from his lips that day. Damian Wayne, the man with ironclad emotions, cried in front of you when the vows continued forwardânot that heâd ever admit that, but you knew.Â
So here you were, the wedding night bliss still radiating off of you as you sat in front of Damianâyour husbandâon your shared bed. Your outfits were hung up ages ago, torn off the second you could and changed into something more cozy with softer fabrics and looser seams. Bobby pins were scattered across the bathroom sink as you let your hair rest. Damianâs own hair was ruffled, the gel long since worn off.Â
Neither of you minded, no amount of makeup or luxurious outfits could make Damian fall for you any harder than he already has.Â
âYouâre really intent on finding it,â you commented playfully, your voice dipped into softer volume. Your hands rested in his, decorated in vibrant amber. Delicate florals weaved their way across your fingertips and palms, vines twirled across the negative space until their leaves grew on your hands. Mother Earth herself had kissed your hands and let her beauty flow across your skinâher own blessing to the marriage.Â
Henna: a tradition that was nothing short of mesmerizing. You remembered the day Damian asked for this, a small portion of his heritage incorporated into the best night of his life. And of course, you said yes, accepting every part of him happily.Â
His hands traced along the arabic style that seeped into your skin, spaced out leaves and florals that left a gorgeous amount of free space to show off your own beautiful skin. It wasnât nearly as intricate as Mehndi, for this style of henna focused on the palms to bring in love and cherish memories. But every dot on your skin was as fascinating as the one before it, carefully placed into a beautiful design.Â
âOf course,â Damian responded, his gaze incredibly focused on the detailed pattern on your hands. He flipped over your hands to look at the top. âThe fate of the marriage rests on this moment.âÂ
You snorted, âYou just donât want to admit that Iâm the dominant one in the relationship.âÂ
Damian tsked, âYou wish.âÂ
âWell,â you looked over at the clock, âyou have five minutes before that superstition comes true. Better hurry up, bird boy.âÂ
âThereâs no need to rush me, I will find it before the night is over.âÂ
You hummed in disbelief, a playful tone falling from your lips. The room fell to comfortable silence once more, the only sound was the soft breathing that landed onto the tips of your fingers.Â
His hands were so gentle as they touched yours, a faint warmth emitting from his own hands and transferring to yours. Even as he turned your hands this way and that, his fingertips traced along the design. The touch was feather-light, almost tickling the surface of your hand.Â
He never touched with much pressure. Even though the dye was a deep rich color, beautifully stained on your hands and wrists, he didnât dare to wear it thin. Talia herself told you every tradition as she crafted the henna on your hand, happy to play such a significant role in her son's marriageâand welcoming you to the family? She was overjoyed to receive that call.Â
So when your henna turned into a darker tone overnight, you immediately knew the deep connection between you and Damian was gorgeously on display. The color signified more than just love and an unwavering bond, but it also represented your place beside your new family, and the love you will surely receive from them.Â
âYou look beautiful with this on, Zawjati,â he spoke just barely above a whisper, as if the amber design had Damian mesmerized. The words fell from his lips absent-mindedly, a new term of endearment taking flight in an instant. The gesture meant more to him than he could ever explain, from the reconnection to understanding, all the way to acceptance, his heart was unbelievably full.Â
You glanced up at him, your eyes met the softened gaze of a man so deeply in love, the rest of the word slipped away. That gaze conveyed more to you than any poetic vow.Â
Your heart was equally as full. His simple wedding band was smooth against your fingers, the new shimmer of metal was vibrant against the tan of his skin. Your own traditions having melted into the wedding with the rings, a permanent symbol of the promise Damian made to you each and every day: to love and cherish you.
âThatâs a new one,â you said, pushing past the breathless feeling in your lungs.Â
He rolled your fingers in his and sparks flew up your chest just like the first day you met him, even after all these years. He hummed in question, his eyes scanning the patterns with deep concentration.Â
âZawjati,â you continued. âWhat does that one mean?â
Damian shifted slightly, not uncomfortably so, but as if his brain was mulling words around behind his eyes so his body swayed on instinct. âMy wife.âÂ
The smile that broke across your face happened in an instant, a full gleam of happiness filled your body that you couldnât possibly contain. âOh?â you teased, as if the words didnât burrow themselves in your chest to create blossoming trees, âIâve upgraded now.â
The corner of his lip ticked upwards so slightly you wouldnât have caught it if you werenât staring. There was a tint of your lipstick stained on his lips that you didnât notice before. His fingers toyed with yours, they slipped in between yours with a ticklish touch.Â
âIâve been wanting to call you that for years,â he said it so simply, like that profession didnât take the air out of your lungs and make your heart flutter alongside it.Â
âYears?â you breathed out, stunned by his words. You knew his love for you was profound, but to be looking forward to spending the rest of his life with you for years? Your head whirled from the whiplash.Â
âYes.â Just as simply as the words that came before. âMy heart knew who it belonged to the second you entered my life. You were the only one who ever saw me for who I really was, not who I could become. You were the only one who made me look forward to living, not for the sake of saving lives to simply do it again the next day, but to keep coming home to you.â
âYou make the future seem possible. You,â he breathed, âyou make me want to be better, not because I have to, but because I truly want to. That is why Iâve always been more partial to the other translation of Zawjati.âÂ
The word rolled off his tongue and your heart danced. âAnd whatâs that?â
His thumb swiped across your pulse point where his name was imprinted on your skin in subtle cursive, easily blending into a vine. He gently brought the point to his lips.Â
âMy better half.â
