from what i understand from a general fandom consensus, a lot of people seem to dislike danny? idk how he’s written so maybe there’s just a lot of problems with writing and what not, but that’s also so disappointing bc danny has so much potential.
he’s someone who grew up in k’un lun, which besides the crazy death cult vibes that happen there, has a lot of asian influences, and it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume that because of that, danny acts way different from a typical white guy. i.e. his accent/beliefs are going to be (almost) comically differing from a typical christian skinny white boy. why do i feel like they’d think he’s racist or some shit, but that’s just how he sounds. and due to DJClawson’s fics, i’m now a firm believer of Buddhist danny. like he says a bunch of spirtual things, but he actually believe is in it.
and he was gone for like 15 YEARS. so he’s going to need to catch up on so much pop culture, because yea, he might be peppy, but he was raised with monks, right? so the way he behaves/interprets people’s reactions is going to be so different... considering how there seem to be parallels between stick & matt’s relationship and danny’s relationship with k’un lun, because i mean from my understanding he was basically a kid when he started training to potentially become the iron fist? it’d serve as an interesting comparison as well as an interesting friendship imo.
then, moving onto the fact that he was raised with monks, he prob had the bare essentials and then he became a fucking billionare. like would he even understand how much he has, compared to the typical person? is he going to go crazy bc he literally just gave a tip, he didn’t realize that it was enough to pay for the waitress’s rent for the month!! is he freakishly generous?
