With 2 days left to go before Kings Island opening day, I want to wish a happy birthday to Diamondback and Banshee, which are turning 15 and 10 years old respectively today!

Here's some pictures from the queue of Diamondback from opening day! This coaster's one of 2 at Kings Island that never fails to make me nervous while I'm queuing for it, the other being Orion. There's just something about B&M hyper coasters that apparently freaks me out XD

Jokes aside, I'd say this (which was my 4th ride on it) was my best ride yet on Diamondback. My first time, I didn't really like it too much, but I've found the more chances I give it (& by proxy, the more I go on it), the more I learn to appreciate it & the more fun I seem to have had by the time I get off. Plus, the entire track's been fully repainted! Last season it was only part-way done, and you could see where they'd stopped painting it from the spot where the train passes next to it. Now it looks all nice and pretty with its new completed fresh coat!

That being said, am I the only one who feels like Diamondback's ride feels longer than The Beast's? No? Just me? Alright then-

Random thought of the day: If Kings Island can nickname the helix on Orion the "Orion's belt" element, then I think that they should call the helix before the splashdown on Diamondback "the coil"
