“What the hell are you doing?”
You step out of the car, backpack slung over your shoulder and eyeing the stranger leaning over your waist-high wooden fence. Your dog is barking excitedly at your arrival, hopping up and peering over the fence with his black nose sniffing the air. The stranger turns around and you realize it’s just your long-time neighbor, Yoongi.
“I was just petting your dog, I swear.” He holds his hand up to surrender. Your dog barks, as if he is agreeing with Yoongi’s statement.
“And why is that?” You walk around to the trunk, still eyeballing him cautiously. Even though you’ve known Yoongi practically your whole life, and know he would never try to break into your house, you’re still curious. The quiet boy next door is smart enough not to rob someone in broad daylight and he never leaves the house, so what is he doing in front of yours?
He moves to help you bring your bags out of the trunk, grabbing both pieces of luggage.
“He was always sitting by the gate waiting for you and looked so lonely. I felt bad for him,” he shrugs, lifting both bags for you.
You feel a twinge of guilt from his words. You’ve been gone for a few months, away at school, and you’re unsurprised that your dog has been missing you and probably wondering where you disappeared to.
“I come by every day to give him treats,” he explains, stepping up towards the gate leading to your house.
You nod towards the driver, signaling him to leave before turning back to Yoongi with a warm grin.
“Aw,” you coo, unable to stop it before it leaves your mouth. He turns his head away, hiding the pink that coats his cheeks. “You really came everyday for him?”
“Yeah, I just wanted to keep him company while you were gone. It’s nothing much.”
“You’re the sweetest person ever, Yoongi, and don’t try to deny it.”
He grumbles but doesn’t object.
You invite Yoongi to come beyond the wooden fence he’s stood behind for months and you sit in the grass together to reunite with your dog.
You don’t forget to thank Yoongi when he leaves, asking if he’ll come back to visit tomorrow. When he asks you why, you only respond with, “Because we might get lonely without you.”

Doing some more dogsitting
This is Sofia. She belongs to one of my aunts. I think she's a Maltese. Whatever she is, she's just a spoiled little void. I love her. :)
I was thinking on doing a short story where the boys have to take care of your new dog for a whole week while you are out of town, and at first, they start to dislike the dog because of how destructive and noisy it is disrupting their free time and naps after patrols and missions with the cops, but they then have a change of heart after the dog protects and saves their lives from taking a bullet for them from a foot clan assault one night, and they try their best to save the dog's life. Since I love animals, I actually really wanted to do this story tbh.
